In Search For My Twin - Episode 15

 

The next day faruk took me around the city visiting a number of different buildings. We did some grocery shopping and then he bought me some clothes and undies. He took me to different malls and showed me different amazing things.

Later he took me to cafe javas where we ate what they call KFC . It was a very beautiful day copped with beautiful moments which would give me beautiful memories .  We came back later in the evening and as we sat down in the sofa faruk said, how has been your day my love?  Perhaps I have a plan on how to confront your father. 

Hearing him say my father I jumped up and screamed , may the gods forbid he is not my father and he will never be . I said shouting at the top of my voice without even realising it. Am sorry please calm down he said making me to sit again. So may I continue with the plan? He asked looking me straight in the eyes. Ok am sorry for shouting at you but now am all ears I said . 

We can't go together to the company so I will go there alone. What do you mean by going alone I have to see that beast of a man and struggle his neck with my own hands. I said cutting him in the middle of what he was saying.  Will you please let me to finish first he said calmly. I just looked at him without saying a word

. Deep in my heart I felt like I wanted to give him the pain my mom went through. 

If you go , faruk said taking my hand in his ,he will know straight away that you're his daughter because you look exactly like your late mom. We both don't know what he may do to you. So what's the plan? I asked sadly thinking about what he just said.

He is right we don't know how he will react on seeing me after all these years. And my heart is burning with hatred I don't know what I would do on seeing him. I will go and once I meet him, I will call you and you listen to everything we say whilst saving everything.  I will pretend am your mom's son and am looking for my sister. But he knows my mom never had a child before and .... shhhhh listen here he said putting his middle finger on my lips. Yes s m tall and old but I doubt whether he will think about that. Let's try to get something out of him. 

Are you with me on this? He asked . Yes I answered . Ok pray that all goes well and don't dare say anything while listening or you may put me in trouble.  I nodded slowly however my heart wasn't agreeing to the plan. I sensed danger but I didn't want to make him feel belittled.  

The next day he wore blue jeans and a black t-shirt and black Versace shoes. I wished him the best, hugged him tight and before he left he said, I love you and take care. Don't go out and am not expecting anyone so don't answer any doorbell unless its me. We hugged again and he left.

 Tears were now coming down my cheeks as I silently prayed that all goes well with him. I sat down on the sofa, moved to the kitchen,  back into the sofa, moved to the bedroom but I couldn't get peace of mind. I started pacing back and forth whilst checking on the time.

Time seemed to slow down that very day. Later after about an hour he called I waited and he said,hi babe are you there. Yes I am I replied.  Am now going to enter his office it wasn't easy seeing him so please don't say anything and please record this conversation.  Ok dear I love you I said and then I heard a door open. I knew it was time to switch on the recording button , I put my phone on loud speaker and placed it on the table as I sat and listened. 

"So you said you're my step son , yes i Am sir. What's brings you here and what's your business with me? I came to see you sir and ask for permission if I can see my sister as well. What do you mean your sister and can you explain how you come to be my step son?  Am a son to the late Evelyn Nangozi from masaka.  What did you just say? Repeat who your mother is. Mrs. Evelyn Nangozi sir. Did you say she's late? Yes sir she passed away a month back.

So who sent you here? My mom asked me to come and look for my sister whose your daughter. It was my mom's only wish sir. Her daughter died when she was only six months old. So your sister died in her infancy. So now get out of my office and never come back here".

Faruk ...... Faruk. WHAT IS THAT?  ARE YOU FOOLING WITH ME YOU IDIOT..  I heard a long silence and I thought he had gone out of the office. I called his name and now I don't know what is going on with him . His phone has been cut off. I cried so hard hoping that his well. Why didn't I wait ? Why did I call his name or NOOOOOOOOO FARUK  . It can't be they can't kill you or do anything to you because I swear on my mom's name I won't forgive them. W

Why did I let him to go a lone?  I waited untill nine in the night and there was no sign of him. I don't know what to do am so stuck. Where can I start from?  I don't know anywhere in the city. I cried all night and it seemed to be longest night of my life. Early in the morning I dialled mama Suzie the lady who told us about the company. 

Whose waking me up this morning she said in a sleepy tone. Mama Suzie please help me. I said breaking down in tears. What's wrong calm down and say it.

. She said this time sounding concerned . It's my fiance mama Suzie. Who, what does he want to kill you? She said sounding more like a concerned mother. NOOOOO HIS MISSING  I said . Maybe they killed him I said crying so hard that I couldn't hear what she was saying. 

She hung up and called again . I tried my best to stay calm as I explained everything to her. She comforted me and told me to keep praying for Mr. Abby is not an easy man. She promised to do her very best to find out what happened to faruk. I wailed and called on my late mom to come on my rescue. What will I do without  him?  What will I tell his sister hajara ? What will tell to the people?   Why did I accept this plan in the first place?  What can I do to overcome this?
