IN DETROIT
RIA'S POV
“I hope after this, I get to have my freedom?”
I ask Mr Harps.
“Not so soon my dear.” He said smiling and I flare.
“What’s the matter with you? I smell a foul play here. I have helped killed fifteen of your rivals and you promised me that i would as well get revenge on who killed my parents and my freedom once I eliminate ten . Now it’s fifteen and still nothing.” I gasp realising how this man has been using me to his taste and advantage.
“well, well, well… Ria I am so sorry but you see, I don’t have any agent half as better as you so I can’t let you go just yet.”
“ what!” I shout weakly. I bet I can cry right now.
“but I will let you go finally if you carryout this two missions.” He says again.
I know he is trying to use me but I won’t let him. I will beat him to his own game. He thinks I trust him… .ah! I don’t.
“I see you are not interested even without you saying it. Anyways you might as well go find out who killed your parents that’s if you ever find out.” Smile and starts reading his newspaper acting as if I needed this mission the most. Now he got me

. He has used my weakness against me. I swear I will come back for him after my revenge for my parents. He made me this monster I am. I thirst blood like a vampire. That’s the extent I have been damaged. The human sense of me is just a thin line compared to the monster side of me.
“im in but this is the last. No more games, no more postponing. I don’t get to be played. Else I will make you pay in any way I can once I find out these promises to be fake.”I warn him and I can see his fears. He isn’t scared of me. He is scared of my eyes. I know how to use them against him. No one can withstand my eyes. No one.!
“the first person is Mcclairre Harrison and the second is Clinton Wright. One is based in Detroit and the other based in Nigeria. I am making this easy for you because…” he stops as he gives me two photographs. These men are handsome I swear! But one is dressed like a soldier and a General for that matter.
“but wait, is this man a real soldier or he is just acting up.” I question Harps. I haven’t killed a soldier before. How can I do that? It’s way too risky. I see this man wants to get rid of me.
“Infact he isn’t just a soldier. He is a General in the military.” He answers without fear.
“what! Are you kidding me? Being a General means he would be guarded all the time with strong and armed men. What do you take me for? A dummy? Kudos to you cos I see you really want to dance to my funeral’s tune.”
“why are you scared. The Ria I know is fearless. You have killed men with guards. Trust me, you won’t get killed. Just follow my command and you will have a free pass in and out.” He says.
“so what’s his offence. What can a soldier possibly do to offend a citizen?” I ask him.
“well let’s just say there’s this medallion our master once gave us in his dying moment. The medallion is crafted like an image. Actually two images facing eachother but in between these two images is an opening that can separate both images and also gives the wearer the opportunity to form two necklaces from the medallion with each image attached to each necklace as a locket. He asked us to give these necklaces to his children after his demise but unfortunately, Mcclairre ran away with his half and left me the other half. I have been hearing rumors about him going about finding the perfect person to kill me just to acquire my other half for his own selfish reasons which I know nothing about. That’s why I want to kill him first, take his half and find our master’s children. He has been appearing In my dreams lately telling me how restless he has been. So I want this done as soon as possible. Mind you that medallion is bounded by enchants. Make sure he gives you with his hand. If you forcefully take it from his hold, it will kill you instantly.”
Wow! Not only am I killing a person, but also acquiring a spiritual property. Life is deep indeed.
“So do you have clues on how to find the children?” I ask him. “because I am not helping you with that.” I add.
“oh that isn’t the problem. I have one in my custody and Mcclairre has the other According to my investigations. I think that is the main reason he is actually trying to kill me. He might have killed the one in his custody for his selfish reasons you know.”
“and the Clinton, what’s his offence?”
“Oh that’s bonus. Let’s just say his greed will be blamed for his death.” He smile.
“Hmmmmmm…  what’s that smile for?” I ask him
“because you are going to be killing two birds with one stone. So it’s left for you to make the death bloody or normal.” He announces like a maniac.
“You mean one bullet killing these two persons? If not I’m not interested.”
“Of course you do because Mcclairre killed your parents.”
I don’t know why or what happened cos I immediately start laughing. This man is mad.
“I am not joking Ria. You father was a soldier like I told you before he died. He was shot by an opponent whom died due to the shot your father gave him after the opponent had shot him. This means your father still had the energy to survive but Mcclairre watched him bled to death because of that General’s position he is today.” He explains with seriousness and this lands me In serious confusion.
“How? I mean it doesn’t make sense. How about you? You weren’t a soldier. How come you knew about all these?” I ask.
“you are wrong. I was a soldier but I retired as soon as our master, the general died. There was no connection between me and the rest especially when I heard Mcclairre travelled because we were the closest. After he travelled, I met your father who was just a recruit. As at then, we were mourning our late General. The new General loved your father like his own son. This didn’t bother me because I was about retiring but it bothered Mcclairre as soon as he arrived from his journey. Your father was strong, fearless and everything. You have his features even better especially his eyes. I loved him as well. I mean no one would be able to not get impressed by him. Every mission was accomplished by him. He told me about his family. He showed me your picture and that of your mother. You looked so much like him when little and you still do. He was the talk of every soldier. Rain Ushers was the talk of every soldier until the arrival of Mcclairre. He was so jealous that somebody else was about to be promoted higher than his level and he secretly planned his plot. I was the closest to him so I knew his plans but couldn’t share cos I trusted your father to be stronger than what Mcclairre had underestimated him to be.
Unfortunately, they were all assigned to a mission except me since I was processing my retirement document I was asked to stay behind. I was so worried sick because on other missions I went with them, I protected your father from Mcclairre indirect attacks. Due to this, Mcclairre started suspecting me and he kept his plans to himself alone. I used to be cover for your father cos I knew Mcclairre wouldn’t shoot me. We were like brothers so I had an advantage your father didn’t.
I was so scared for him when I didn’t follow them to this particular mission that claimed your father’s life. We were in the base when we received instructions to go backup the soldiers that had gone for the mission. I was so happy. I thought maybe your father was still alive of course he was still alive except for the fact Mcclairre tricked me. We had gone in two of our vehicles. One stopped at the front and the other stopped at the back of the forest. We walked on dead bodies searching for the ones that were alive. The soldiers walking alongside with me had just found injured soldiers and had carried them to the vehicles when I sighted a figure carrying another and was running from sight. So I ran ahead to see who was running and who was running. When I got closer, I saw it was Mcclairre who had carried your injured father. I thought he was carrying him to safety but I was wrong when he took him to the perfect place to hid his body. He stayed there with him for a while threatening him of how he was going to go after his family. He dragged the locket of you and your mother from your father’s neck and left him to die there. I later came into view when I was sure Mcclairre had left for sure. I carried your father’s body and ran out of the place Mcclairre hid me. He was loosing too much blood and before we got to the vehicle, he gave up. He made me promise to make sure you and your mother gets to safety. We mourned your father. Mcclairre later told me that he saw me in the hideout of your father that was the reason he stayed behind to while away time and make sure your father bled enough that would bring him out of being safe and treatable. He also told me he had no intentions of killing you or your mum. He just said it but I didn’t believe. Immediately my retirement was approved, I found directions to your father’s house. I was about fulfilling your father’s wish when Mcclairre popped out of nowhere. His plan was to kill us all in a way it would make me the culprit and him the saviour and he would be relegated the position of a General if he had done that. You were just 28months old. I carried you while your mother, a Nigerian as me, spoke in pidgin so well. It left Mcclairre confused since he was an American. She had told me she would cover while I atleast saved her baby. I protested but she insisted and told me where the backdoor was. I ran towards it and ran out while I heard struggles inside the house. I quickly enter my car but not before hearing three bullets. I had to train you like to be just like your father, hence the missions I have given you and the person you are today. Though sometimes you are still as soft as your mother. It’s up to you to take revenge on behalf of your parents. I know I have done my part. Make do of this opportunity and make your father so proud of you and happy with me.” He finshed narrating.
