Forever, Mitchell - Episode 31

 

WE ARE ALMOST THERE!!

AREN'T YOU GLAD?

When Xavier asked me to show up in his office I never thought it was this big. 

I imagined that my husband was rich but, well, not his rich. 

Who would have thought? 

I stand outside the building which could easily be 30 storeys, removing my sunglasses to really look at it. 

Jesus christ. 

It's intimidating, just like the man who built it. 

I'm not sure what Xavier's father was thinking when he built this stuff but if it's to go by his absence since the day I last saw him I'm sure he built it for his son. 

Yeah that must be the reason because he very well don't think he can pilot this ship from the Caribbean where he is right now with his latest arm candy.

I take a deep breath and I pass through the revolving doors, I walk to the receptionist and smile. 

"Hi, I'm here for Xavier Knox" She looks me up and down before answering in a bored voice. 

"Do you have an appointment?"

What? I'm dressed in designers, a black leather skirt and a white halter top and a deep blue coat with leather in laid, I'm dressed nicely so she really can't be rude to me because of the way I'm dressed. 

"No, I don't have an appointment, I'm his wife" I say, a little snobbily and she rolls her eyes. 

"Listen lady, you are the 3rd person today who has tried to pull that prank, my job is already hard as is, no need for me to be fending off b*tches like you, he has a wife , a real one" She says, frustration clear in her voice 

Oh, that's it.

I begin to feel frustrated myself, I turn to Lucy behind me and she shrugs. 

What to do. 

I bring out my phone to call Xavier but stop, what if he's in an important meeting? 

"Madam?" A voice asks and it's one of Xavier's bodyguard, max, the one from the Kenny incident. 

"Oh, hey Max, can you tell her that I'm Xavier's real wife?" I say pointing to the receptionist who gets big eyes. 

I shouldn't have bothered because the revolving doors produce Xavier, walking with purpose towards the elevator. 

"Xavier?" I call and he stops smoothly turning to me. 

I walk to him with a smile and even if his face doesn't change I know he's pleased to see me. 

He bends to me before kissing me slowly in welcome. 

"Why are you still down here?" 

"I just arrived" I say, not wanting to put the receptionist in trouble. 

He grabs at my hand, moving us to the elevators, I glance at the receptionist and she looks like she might puke, I smile at her before throwing her a wink. 

Xavier made a statement just then, kissing me and holding my hand, it's safe to say that I won't be held back the next time I come here. 

As the elevator doors slowly closes I see that the receptionist area is full and everyone is looking at us, it must be lunch time, among the sea of faces, Tyler's is there, staring back at me. 

My heart pangs and I find myself unconsciously pulling away from Xavier, he must have noticed because his head raises to look at Tyler too. 

It's then the elevator doors closes. 

I don't say a word, I did not know that Tyler worked in this office with Xavier. 

Guilt hits me hard. 

This past few weeks have been bliss, i and Xavier returned to his house and its been nice, we gradually got to know each other and even though he doesn't love me we've been living comfortably. 

I wasn't shy to be around him there because we were alone, hell we made out on the dinner table yesternight and we passed out on the couch after another one of our s*xual marathon. 

I wasn't adverse to doing this because we were alone, but seeing Tyler just now? I just got a wake up call. 

This might be too good to be true. 

The elevator doors open and he pulls me out, we pass his secretary. 

"Go for lunch Kim, cancel all my appointments today, I don't want anyone in this hallway" He says and he sounds pissed.

Kim's eyes come to me but leave before nodding. 

I get pulled into his office and before I can take in the sight Xavier is pushing me against the door his lips fusing to mine. 

I have no idea why he is this aggressive but I'm used to it by now. 

"You pulled away from me" He says. 

OK, I'm getting punished, I pulled away. 

"I. Was..." 

"Do you still have feelings for him?" He asks in, his head still resting on mine. 

"Xavier..." 

"Tell me" 

"I don't know what I feel" 

"When are you going to admit that I'm in there and I've done you over Mitchell?" Xavier breaths and I freeze. 

I thought I did a good job of hiding it, I thought I hid my feelings well. 

"You don't get to feel flustered over seeing Tyler, every feelings you have for him should die Mitchell, I don't care if he is my brother, I will send him far away" He says. 

"I'm sorry" I breathe and he nods, his head coming down,

. Kissing me deeply and I kiss him back.. 

"That also mean you don't see that guy, that Kenny guy" He says after a while of making out and I laugh into his mouth. 

"Kenny is just a friend"

"Kenny will turn up dead if he keeps touching your ass" 

"I knew you had a guard on me when I went to see him last time" I say and he looks unrepentant. 

"Why am I here?" I ask, standing up from his lap, how I got there is beyond me. 

"We are going out" He says. 

"To where?" 

"We are getting you a ring, something you would like" He says and my already gooey hearts melts more. 

"I think I might like you" I say softly and he smiles, a full on smile and I blink from the brightness.
