Episode Two

I looked at the mirror in the bathroom and it was covered in a misty linen, judging from the hot bath I had had. ... I was getting bigger or at least more masculine. My brows were getting thicker and wider and almost becoming an umbrella over my eyes which looked like a tiger's. I had an almost straight nose shooting out at the ends and ruining my almost bridgeless nose, and presiding over my firm, thick lips .. . Dad must have been hairy too, I thought due to the full curly locks clothing my head, hairy arms and also my chest seemed to accommodate more hair recently. Looking closely I saw strings of beard on my jaw, I tugged at one and decided to pull at it, I cringed under the heart renting pain "hei!!" I almost screamed as I clenched my fists in a bid to take in my scream. I stood up and looking again... I smiled , murmuring...I think I succeeded in pulling out the unruly hair sprouting from my jaw like a corn seed after a few days of planting. My face wouldn't count as a beauty to behold, my temples were a bit pronounced and my face was also a bit on the oval side. Most time I had to thank God I wasn't short necked like mum. Dad's DNA must have had an upper hand since I can not boast of a single trait of mums... Not even one wandered into my abode

. ....aren't you going to school today? Mum asked knocking at the door.  Of course mum I replied, grabbing my towel and in a swirl, it was on my waist. Turning the door knob I made for my room which was on the far end of the bungalow. My house wasn't a luxurious one, but it sure did possess the necessary. Having three rooms; the guest's, the master's and mine. It had one sitting room, a dinning, kitchen, twin set toilets and bathrooms and of course .... a verandah too. The furnishing wasn't lavish at all, it had just what we could well afford. There were four Sofa's in the sitting room, two petit sized which faced each other , another medium sized placed opposite the other, a triple sit in one. At the far end of the sitting room close to the window , on a table there were figurines ..one of which was a suckling child and his mother. Mum said she got them because she has a thing for figurines and paintings. She got anyone she could afford. On the walls there were paintings , both abstract and normal ones, but my pick was the one opposite the television stand which was a woman carrying a child on her back, I don't know particularly why but I think it reflects an image of me and mum. There were no pictures of dad, she must have removed them, because there were pictures of me and her.. At different moments. Our television set wasn't really fancy, it was just medium sized with an inscription of "sharp" just above its power button . I must say watching television has never been my thing. First, because mum always stressed on not getting attached or stuck on T. V. And then, she never bordered getting a decoder. We housed no flowers, neither artificial nor natural, but she rather kept an aloe Vera plant in a vase. She never let the plant overgrow...... ..... Walking into my room "mum is just going to have me sent to the guillotine when she finds this room in this state" I thought as I stretched my leg to leap over a disarrayed pile of clothes which was my handiwork in my unyielding search for my sock. In a wham I was ready for school with a sinister plan of sneaking out without arranging my properties. As I opened the door with the most carefulness, I peeped , making sure she wasn't in sight . I tiptoed up the passage, through the sitting room and in a dash, was out the door, with a smile and jump of triumph, stepped into the street along with passersby those with destinations ,... Those without... My strides were long hopping mum wasn't at the window , watching her inauspicious son........
