Dysfunctional - Episode 13

 

Sommy's POV

Embarrass is far from what I felt that moment he walked in to my office. I felt worse especially when he said "Dr. Sommy, you're unbelievable".
 I took some time to let it all sink in. Then I quickly sprayed my perfume all around. I opened the window blinds so the horrible smell can disperse faster. 
The next part was the hardest, how would I invite him in? I didn't even have the face to go out. I bow my head in shame, then walked out with a wry smile on my face. 
"Bosco" "Don't even call my name" he snapped . Lucky for me, Filda wasn't at her duty seat. Thank God, I sighed within. 
I saw him sniff his clothes. "Are you really serious right now?"
"What?"
"You're sniffing your clothes as though I just threw sprayed tear gas over you" "Yes you did, this is the worst of assault, i should sue you"
"Are you trying to be funny right now?" I asked, it was funny but I was too embarrassed to laugh. 
"It's not what you think" I added, I had no idea why I said that or what I was trying to prove. "It's not what I think or it's not what i perceived"
He had the upper hand here, he was definitely going to use whatever I say against me

. "Why would you?" "Every one farts, it's a normal phenomenal, I fart, you fart, we all do. Either it's a silent one or a loud one, fart is fart"
"Not everyone allow others perceived out of it or taste out of it" "Don't exaggerate it Bosco"
"The taste is in my mouth, trust me, I'm not exaggerating. You could have done it elsewhere"
"It doesn't exactly have a toilet, you can fart anywhere even in the kitchen when you're cooking"
"Remind me not to ever eat your food" he added and I laughed. I just managed to weird him out. "I'm sorry" I apologized, "I'm sorry you had to smell that" 
"And taste out of it" he paused, "You should add that too" he added.
 "Look at the good side of it. You won't have to have breakfast again" I chipped in poking his belly and he scoffed.
"Brighten up, It's just fart. I mean, don't you fart in your office? I mean everyone has that moment when that tiny one comes out when you're shouting at an employee" I teased then I saw him chuckle. 
"See! We're all humans and you've just seen me at my most embarrassing moment" I added then i invited him in but he bluntly refused.
"No way. An issue sprung up at work and I'll be busy with it all through the day"
"Today was supposed to be the day you hand me the keys to the car" I complained and he laughed. 
"I'm sorry but it's important, let's move it to tomorrow"
"Fine" I answered. 
"See you tomorrow" he added then walked away. "I hope it's nothing serious" I asked and he turned shaking his head. 
"See you tomorrow then"

Later in day while I had lunch alone at the cafeteria, I had a call from Joshua's sister. "My sister-in-law good afternoon" she began, I've had that nick name since I started dating Josh. 
"Hello Queen, how are you?" "I'm fine oh, but you're bad oh" she added and I wondered why. "What's up nah? Wetin I do?"
"So you couldn't even tell me my brother was in town" she answered and I raised my brow in shock.
 "Joshua is in town?" I asked, "Wait, you didn't know?"
"I didn't"
"They said he came in this morning"
"Seriously? He wasn't supposed to come in till Thursday"
"Maybe he's trying to surprise you. Mom said brother Joshua wants to propose to you"
"Are you serious?" I asked as though I didn't have the same guess. "Mom has been disturbing him"
I couldn't  believe it! my speculations were true. My heart raced in joy. 
"I think you should pay him a surprise visit, he took a surprise trip here, it's only fair you surprise him too"
I laughed seeing reason to what she said. "You're right. Thanks dear, I'll go." I answered. 

I cleared my schedule for the day, went back home, took my bath then I wore the blue gown Bosco bought for me.
 It felt wrong but I felt like I needed to glam up for the big 'will you marry me' question.
Though I didn't use the necklace. I didn't want to look too serious. 
I entered into a Keke that drove me over to Joshua's house. 
I knocked at the gate and a security opened up. He seemed surprise that I showed up. "How far?" I said to him as I walked in. "Madam e no far oh" he replied and I walked past him.
"Madam" he called out and I turned back at him. "Oga Joshua invite you?" He asked and I shook my head.
 "I just wan surprise am" I replied then walked in. Joshua lived in the first floor while another neighbor lived in the ground floor. 
The door was open so there was no need knocking the door. I took off my shoes so he wouldn't hear me coming. I walked towards his room only to hear sweet moaning sounds.
I didn't need to be told what was going on, but I needed to see for myself.
 I opened the door only to see Joshua over a woman having s*x with her. 
He didn't even notice me come in. They were still going about their business. Suddenly I thought of what Winner had said. She was right all along. 
That moment I had to restrain myself from crying. It took a lot of effort.
Joshua didn't change at all. He was still the same addict I knew all along. I glanced once more at the show before me.
I pulled a stool close then sat on it. This time they both turned towards me. "The lady quickly covered up her naked ass with a bed sheet. 
"Sommy" Joshua called out in shock. "Oh please don't let me stop you two. I was actually enjoying the show"
"Joshua what's this?" The girl asked, "Shut up, she's my girlfriend" he answered and I laughed so much it broke my heart. 
"That's funny" i glanced at the lady. "He just called me his girlfriend, meanwhile he's here cheating on me with you"
"I have to go" the girl said pulling her clothes closer.
 "You don't have to, I'm sorry for the interruption. I'll take my leave now" I turned to leave and I felt Joshua hold my wrist. 
"Sommy it's not what you think"
I slapped him on the face, "what is it then?" "What is it then? I know what I saw"
"Sommy I'm sorry"
"I'm sorry too Joshua" I replied, walking out of the room.
 "I didn't want to cheat, I tried to fight it but I just couldn't" I heard him say behind me.
"You could have told me" I turned to him in tears, he had already worn his trousers.
"I wanted you to be proud of me, you thought I was cured but the only reason I didn't go back to being a s*x addict was you! Because I love you"
"You don't!" I yelled him.
"I do baby, I do with all of my heart" he paused then knelt down close to him. "Would you take me to be your lawfully wedded husband? Sommy I'll quit my job, I'll have you to come home to you everyday"
I rolled my eyes, I couldn't believe what was happening; the same idiot I just caught, just  proposed to me. I couldn't stand his guts any longer.
"Joshua you lied to me"
"I'm sorry for everything I'm willing to make it up to you" "Since you're in Nigeria, why didn't you just come to me at once"
"I met her at the airport, we flirted and... But I really came to surprise you. Things just took a different turn"
"Joshua I can't do this, I can't" I paused trying hard to control my tears. I saw him bring out a car key from his pocket. 
"I already bought this for you. Remember our dreams, our hope and aspirations to build a family together? Sommy I never forgot, not once" he recalled rising up.
"But you forgot our pact never to cheat, Joshua you promised" I paused and I saw the key still raised up. It was actually a tempting offer but I knew more than to be stucked in a cheating relationship.
"Screw you and your f*cking car Joshua, you both can burn in hell for all I care" I snapped then he moved closer kissing me on the lip.
 As much as I didn't want to kiss him back, I found myself doing it. 
Joshua has always been a good kisser, he had a blessed lip that could do all sorts of wonders to your nerves but I had to stop one way or the other. 
I kicked him on the balls then moved away from him. He knelt down groaning.
"Goodbye Joshua" I concluded leaving him in pains.

After my bitter encounter, i dashed off to a bar. I ordered for the bar's strongest drink and of course the bar tender did. That had to be the strongest sh*t I've ever taken. 
"Screw you Joshua" I muttered then ordered for several more shots.
I've always had this high opinion of that I can never get drunk but that night, I realized I was drunk when I couldn't stand on my feet.
I sat back then brought out my phone to call anyone I could think of but all the dialed numbers were in double. The only person I could think of that moment was Bosco. 
I quickly put a call through to a name that seemed like Bosco.
 "Dr. Sommy" i heard his voice,and then I sighed in relief. "Thank God it's you"
"Who else would it be?" He asked, "Can you come pick me up?" I asked my voice suddenly sounded cracked and I cleared my throat.
"I'm sorry but I didn't know who to call" 

Bosco's POV

In the thick of reading a case file, I had an incoming call from Dr. Sommy. My forehead creased as I wondered why she was calling. "Dr. Sommy" I called out, the next thing I heard was a sigh, "Thank God it's you" she added. "Who else would it be?" 
"Can you come me pick me up?" She asked, her voice sounded cracky. "I'm sorry but I didn't know who to call" she explained to me and I suddenly got worried.
 "Are you okay?" I asked, "Where are you?"
"Red tape club at Kuba estate" she replied and I ended the call.
 I removed my suit from where i kept it, wore it then dashed out of the office.

. She sounded drunk for someone who bragged that she could hold her liquor.
Finding her wasn't difficult. I sighted a lady on the same blue gown i gave to her as a gift. She was seated on a bar stool discussing with the bar tender. 
"What are you doing in a place like this?" I asked, "What are you also doing in a place like this?" She asked, "Technically you're here so....." She shrugged and I shook my head unbelievably drunk she was. 
"Dr. Sommy you're drunk"
"I'm not drunk, just a bit tipsy" she replied. "Let's go" I demanded about to leave and I heard her call my name. "What?" I asked, "The ground... it's so far, I might fall off" she replied pointing at the ground. I knew she was too drunk to even walk.
 I held her by the arm then placed it above my shoulder then we walked  out of the club and I layed her a the back seat of my car. I think I heard her sob. I stared at her for a while then entered into the car.
"Give me an address" I demanded and she did. I drove over to her house all the while she slept soundly like a baby.
