Joe.B dropped me at Mr.James house when i entered i saw Nancy pacing in and fro of the compound.

I know today will be my last day at work.. when she saw me she didn't utter a word she went straight to the car and sat in.

"Sorry ma-am i was... "

"will you keep quiet and move this car"

Sorry ma-am... Am surprise she didn't slap me because that her diary routine.

"Steve if i lose this contract i bet you will pay with your life"

There was silence in the car and i wasn't feeling comfortable so i put on the music.

"Steve who gave you the authority to do that??"

"sorry ma-am"

why did i have forget am with the devil?? I turn off the music quickly.

" Steve" she calls with a calm voice 

yesMa-am.

"Do you know you are annoying and irritating"?

She said in a light voice.

"it wont happen again ma-am" 

"Do you love my sister"?

The hearing of that almost takes the car to a hit .

Nancy

I got angry waiting for Steve to take me to work.

When he finally arrived all my anger suddenly disappeared.

In the car i was trying my best not to be calm with him but the more i do talk rudely to him hurt me as while.

I was suspicious and jealous when i saw the message Vera sent to him.

"Do you love my sister ??" I don't know how those words came from my mouth.

I should hate men but hear i am falling for my driver, i used to slap him on the slightest mistake but lately am growing a soft spot on him. 

"Ma-am did did you say something"

pretending i didn't hear her .

"No just concentrate"

We got to the office as usual Steve fellows me holding my bag.

My office is on the forth floor my security man had told me earlier that the elevator is not working.

Have to use the stairs, i lead the way whiles Steve fellows.

I climb to the last floor to my office when my legs twisted because of the heels am wearing i lost my balanced going to fall when . . i felt soft hands on my waist grabbed me tightly. 

I don't need to look at the persons face before realizing it Steve.

"sorry" he said wanting to release me from his hold but i saw myself hugging him tight.

He smells good i inhale his sweet scent.

I wish i will be in your hands forever.

I was dragged out of my thoughts when my secretary burge on us still hugging.

"Sorry ma-am you have a visitor"

she said looking at us in amazement.

She must be surprise due to my coldness and arrogance but it not my fault men changed me to this character.

"Alright let him in i will be in my office"

Steve dropped my bags and turn to leave i didn't want him out of my sight.

"Steve"

I called in a calm voice

"sit down"

He was surprised at my statement.

"Ma-am..." 

"You heard me, sit"

My heart beat change when she told me to sit.

Why should i sit when she already has an appointment with someone.

I know she hugged me at the stairs out of fear of falling down and die.

Does she want to punish me for holding her waist but i did that for her own safety.

"Do you have a family??"

She ask while going through some papers.

"Yes ma-am"

"Why don't you get yourself a better job??"

She ask pouring her self a coffee of tea in a cup.

"Take this"

Stretching a cup of coffee to me.

Did she hit her head on a wall?? The Nancy i know doesn't allow me to enter her office.

If am dreaming someone should wake me up i don't want to end up in Abyss.

"Do you have a..." She didn't finish her statement when someone knocked the door.

"Come in?"

She saidsaid.

The door was gently opened to my greatest amazement it was Jeni .

She is looking beautiful in her black office wear with half covered heel shoe. 

I hope she didn't lose her balance while climbing the stairs.

She stare at me with surprise but i look else where..

"Good morning"

She greeted ignoring me. 

I am Jennifer, daughters to chief Mensah

"Sit down"

Pointing to an empty chair beside mine.

"Have you both met before"

Nancy ask there was a look of surprise at her face.

"No"

Jeni replied

"Ma-am i will like to excuse my self"

i said rising from the chair.

"Alright"

She said. 

I went to a restaurant opposite the office to have lunch.

The waitress gave me the menu, in few minutes yam, eggs and onion stew was in front of me

. I was busily eating when a familiar voice ....

"Hi can i join you"

I swallowed the unfinished chewing food in my mouth so i can respond to the person.

"Vera what are you doing here?"

I never expects her in this cheap restaurant.

"I am here on the same purpose that brought here"

she said taking a sit beside me on the same table. 

I feel complete around her but the media is over her because of her social status.

Her father won't tolerate me around her at all.

Rejecting her request will make her cry on the street again and it will be on the headlines again.

She was slapped and insulted by her father the last time her name was on the headline that she was crying because of man on the street.

Before i could say yes she was already eating from my plate of food.

"Waw, this food is delicious"

she said I was staring at her gorgeous face while she eat.

"Steve eat"

she said dipping my hands in the food I was hungry but her presence alone satisfies me.

 

Vera

I didn't have lectures today so i decided to go shopping, Nancy came to work with my bag, in that bag is my ATM card. 

I don't know why she envy that bag so much.

I remember going for shopping with my sis on her birthday when we both struggled on this bag.

But she gave up on the bag because i took it first.

After i want for the card i felt hunger envelope my stomach.

I saw a local restaurant opposite the office i entered to get some food for my hungry stomach.

When i entered the restaurant there sit Steve busily eating.

Should i go to him and if she reject me like the other time.

That scene hit my mind and i sigh.

The heart wants to sit by Steve and eat with him but the mind and body is afraid of rejection.

He didn't see me coming because his back was facing me.

My whole body in connection with my legs carried me without my expectations to his sit after washing my hands with the water on the table .. I didn't wait to hear him accepts my request because that will lead me to another cry. 

I have succeeded convincing Steve to drive me to the the mall for shopping.

In two days i will be celebrating my birthday and i want to buy him a nice dress he will be wearing on that day.

I must force him to proposed to me on my birthday.

That will be the greatest gift i will receive on that day.

I know father will hate me and disown me i don't fe-king care about him and his reputation any more after all, he never like me.

I never enjoy fatherly love from him since childhood.

Every seconds i spend with him is either

"am disappointed at you or go make yourself useful."

I will disappoint him more and make my self useful.

His precious arrogant daughter is there for him always.

After the shopping Steve was taking me home, in the car the past memories of how Lucas cheating on me hit my mind and tears started dropping from my cheeks.

When Steve notice me crying he stopped the car.

"Vera what's wrong?"

I pull closer to him and hugged him. 

I felt his hands at my back c*ressing my hair .

"Can i take you to a quiet place"

he said After releasing me from his hold

"I node with a smile"
