Steve Pov's

"What do you want"?? Benjamin said

"I want your land, come with the papers you have 6 hours. I will send you the location, the time starts immediately I send you the location " 

Don't think of the police because if do, you will only meet her corpse "

" I knew it, I knew it was the same land issue." Joe.B said 

Land' what lands are you talking about " Benjamin said

" The land I told you about that mum gave me, am sure is the same person who sent you to kidnapped my mum."

" What do we do now? " Joe. B said

"I am giving them what they requested for, I can't watch them kill my mum when I can safe her."

"Where did you keep the paper's "?? I asked Joe.B

I gave him the papers to keep for me when I had that massage. 

"I kept them at my office" he said 

"Let's go for them please" I said. 

We rush out of the house and went for the papers at his office, on our way for the papers they sent the location to me. 

We followed the map and got to the the location, it was an uncompleted mansion . Joe

. B and Benjamin stayed in the car outside the house as I enter into the big gate of the mansion. 

When I got inside the compound there were two men holding AK 47 gun, they pointed the gun on me. 

The other guy came and searched me but he didn't found anything, the only thing in my hands was the land papers. 

One led the way while the other stayed outside, we climbed the steps to the second floor. There room was dusty and smells of blood. 

We got to the second floor, there was a door to a room and that is the only door in the mansion. 

The guy knocked and someone opened the door from behind, he told me to enter and I did. 

When I entered, there were two men one in a mask sitting on a chair and the other holds gun as he stands behind the door.. In a corner was mum, tied up to a chair. 

The man in the mask gestured and I placed the papers on the table, he brought out a pen from his pocket and put it on the table. 

"Sign" he said 

"I will only sign if I see mum outside the gate" I said 

" You don't try anything funny because no one dares me" he said as he 

signaled for the man standing to untie mum. 

He untied her and they both depart to the gate 

"Don't sign, let them kill me" mother shouted when she was outside the room. 

But I can't allow the only surviving family I have to die. 

I don't have a father nor a sister or uncle she is my everything I can't allow her to die, I have to give up on the land. 

I picked the pen and signed the first one, I stretched my head and saw the man open the gate for mother to vacate the compound. 

I know by now mother she is in Joe.B's car, I sign the last one. He also took the pen and sign the his own which prove him rightful owner of the land.  

I turned to leave... 

"Not too fast, make sure you stay away from that land," 

I didn't utter a word, I quickly lifted with tears stuck on my eyes. 

I went outside the gate and saw mum, Benjamin and Joe.B waiting for me in the car. Mother run and hugged me crying, I felt tears drawing from my cheeks. 

It hurts me to see her cry, I rubbed my hands at her back to stop her crying but I was also crying. 

" We need to get out of here " Benjamin said and we ended the hug, we all entered into the car and lifted to Benjamin's apartment. 

In his house, "mum you will be staying here for a while, our house is not safe. We don't know when they will come back again to request for another thing" 

"They have gotten all they wanted what else??" mum said. 

"Mum stay here with us my wife will take care of you" Benjamin said 

"Yes mummy I will take very good care of you, let me show you to your room" his wife said and took mum to her room. 

Joe.B and I went to my house for mothers cloths... 

 

It has been a year since my land and love was taken away from me, I have been searching everywhere for Vera but to no avail. 

 I went to her school and I was told she graduated last year, I Called one of the maids in her father's house but she told me Vera is not back to the house. 

There have not been a day without her in my memories, I missed her so much. 

Where else can I find her ?? I don't know any of her friends. 

"Steve, Steve, what wrong with you?? What are you doing to yourself?? 

Joe. B came to the house from work and met me sitting in the sofa absent minded, I didn't notice when he even entered the house. 

" Sorry man, welcome. 

"I have gotten a new job for you, get your documents ready tomorrow 

morning we are going to see the manager." 

I was excited to hear that but how will I concentrate on this job with all this grievances am going through. 

In the morning, I was still sleeping when I heard a knock on the door. 

I reluctantly stood up from the bed and opened the door. 

" You are still sleeping, have you forgotten you are going to meet the manager for the work I told you about yesterday?" Joe. B said 

Oh fe*k, what's the time?? 

"Go get ready and stop asking unnecessary questions " 

I entered the bathroom, in less than twenty minutes I was fully dressed up in the suit Vera bought for me. 

I looked at my reflection in the mirror, I was looking more than handsome. I took all the necessary documents that will qualify me for the work. 

We got to the office, it was a tall glass mansion of six floors. 

"Man, this place is beautiful" I said to Joe. B 

"This is a branch office, the main office is at south Africa . 

The owner of the company is from south Africa he came to Ghana to recruit new workers he said. You have to go now he maybe expecting you, I will be on my way to work " he said. 

I walked to the glass door, I stretched my hands to open but it opened by it self. 

I saw two ladies in front of a computer when I entered, they were staring at me seductively. It not their fault that they have seen handsome Steve, every woman password. 

"Hi, good morning" I said to them but they were lost in thought 

"Good morning" they said in unison 

I am Steve I am here to see.... I wasn't allow to vomit the rest of the words 

"your are welcome sir" they both stood from their chair and stretched their hands for hand shakes. I wasn't surprised at their behavior, after all, am every woman desire.

"This way sir" a guy from nowhere burged in and said. We got to the elevator and he pressed the button as we got to the six floor. 

"Please make yourself comfortable" 

He sent me to a large empty hall with a large table and chairs beautifully arranged, I think that is the auditorium. 

I sat in the auditorium for almost two hours and no one has attend to me, thirty minutes ago the guy who who brought me here served me a coffee of tea and assured me of Mr. Appiah 's arrival. 

Mr. Appiah is the owner of NG company, I am still waiting for him because I need this job desperately. 

I stood up and was up going to stand in the window when I heard footsteps approaching, I quickly went and sat down. 

A man in his fifties came fully dressed in suit and on his hands was a golden wrist watch. I stood up when he entered into the hall and greeted him. 

" Welcome Mr. Blay" I was astonished on how he knew my surname.

"Thank you Sir. I said in a gentle way. 

" Your friend has already told me more about you, give me your document's "

I handed my documents to him and he went through and nodded 

" Your welcome once again Mr. Steve Blay Ackah. This time he mentioned my name in full, he made me realize I had a father, but the issue is where is he? Does he still exist on this earth?? Maybe mum will answer this questions one day. 

He brought out some papers and told me to sign and I did exactly that. 

"Looking at your qualification and your testimony, you are qualified to work in my company as the Personal Assistant to my CEO".

 I was overwhelmed by the promotion of my life.. 

"I am meeting the board of members for a meeting in a moment from now, you will stay so I can introduce you to them and show you your office." 

Not quiet long when the staffs came in for the meeting. 

"There is one person missing" Mr. Appiah said"

"She is on her way, Sir". The organizer said. 

The gazed from the ladies confused me I didn't know where to look so I bowed my head down not looking at anyone, as my head was bowed down I heard a sound of heals walking towards the high table . 

I raised my head and to my greatest surprise was Vera, she was looking more beautiful, her eyes and my met but she looked away trying to ignore me.

She sat beside Mr. Appiah as one of the workers place her laptop in front of her. 

"Welcome ladies and gentlemen, before the meeting will proceed I will like to introduce to you all Mr. Steve Blay Ackah, he will be assisting the CEO Vera Benson.. 

If am dreaming please don't wake me up, I want to see the end of this dream. 

My mind started to contemplating what was happening, it seems my nerves has stopped sending imposes to my mind. 

I was dragged out of my thoughts when... 

Mr. Steve, what do you have to tell your co-workers? 

Mr. Steve,.. Mr. Appiah shouted my name before I realized I was still  under a meeting. 

"Are you alright"?? 

Em.. m, sorry sir, I am fine.. Everybody began staring at me in a manner of shock. 

"I am very grateful and excited to have wonderful people like you all as my co-workers, I hope we all in one accord will do our best for the progress of this noble institution." they all clap with the exception of Vera. 

After the meeting i was send to my office , the office was very beautiful. 

The table, chairs, fridge, laptop and a small bar containing drinks..

One lady was introduced to me as my secretary, she was one of the ladies I met earlier,. 

I was happy to see Vera but she wasn't pleased seeing me, I know she still hate me because of what happened at the birthday.

This time around I won't let you escape from my hands Vera, I will tell you the truth and propose to you. I have missed you more than my favorite food. 

I hope she is not married, does she still loves me??....
