Crime To Love - Episode 22
At the police station flash was tortured severely after he had been shown the I.D card to confess the person that sent him to kill Cyril. He denied all the allegations including his I.D card, but the police were never convinced by his cries and tortured him hard.
The news of flash in the police custody had mounted tension on Chike; Onyeka and the four boys who were already on the run. Chike was tensed up because he would definitely die if the truth was known considering the law of the country . He could not just imagining himself facing Cyril his childhood friend when the cat will let out of the basket, he has shamefully betrayed his blood brother friend, a friend who was always there for him whenever life seem to be harsh, a friend who could take a bullet for him, forgiving his emotions and self was a thing he cannot be sure of, he cursed the day Onyeka’s advise to take such decision was considered by him. He wished life could just expire in him but committing suicide was never an option for him.
Flash continued to insist he knew nothing about the death of Jennifer. The thing that astonished the DPO was that Cyril who was present in the incident couldn’t identify the person that shot the gun. He has questioned Cyril so many times but he has always replied that the thing that happened lasted for some seconds and he couldn’t see any person’s face for he was under tension

. Cyril was beginning to see that it was flash that committed the crime due to the way he had been acting since the day he was brought to the police custody.
Cyril had now seen the greatest challenge in his career. He had now applied to court for flash’s trial. The application was accepted.

. Ever since the application was taken to the court, Cyril’s visit to his chamber had been consistent. He was bent in getting to the root of who took away his happiness from him under his nose. He has always gone to Chike’s house where he told them, in details, the steps he had been taking. The father would always ginger him to continue in what he was doing and even gave him money, which he use to run around. Chike always felt uncomfortable anytime Cyril came to their house.
When Chike told Onyeka on Cyril’s plan to take the case to the court, Onyeka then brought an idea to go and bribe a lawyer who hardly loses a case in the court. Chike had no other option than to accept such an advice from Onyeka the second time, all he needed was to cover up his mess and repent. They met barrister Ogbu who was known in the whole Neboli who hardly lose any case. Every lawyer in Nebolirespected and feared him. The whole story was given to him and he went to the station and demanded to see flash he was allowed to, he discussed with Flash for couple of hours before he left the station.
Cyril on hearing that it was barrister Ogbu that would be the counsel to preside over the case, became afraid of whether he would lose the case or not. Anytime he became scared on whether he was going to win or lose the case, he remembered the promise he made to Jennifer and would be filled with courage. Chike’s parents always gingered him to go on for God was with him they became his backbone for it was then they realized that someone wealthy is behind the murder of their daughter for everyone who sees Flash knows that he cannot afford the bills of Barrister Ogbu.
