Onyeka was really afraid that the cat would be let out of the bag one day so without Chike being aware he arranged with Stagger and the other two boys remaining to kill Cyril on his way to the court on the 11th day of July.
Cyril had been into this career for over three years and knew the things involved on challenging a personality like Barr. Ogbu . He really knew that he was a corrupt lawyer who did anything for money. Cyril always watched his back anywhere he was going to. Within that period he released his dog from the chain to be walking about in his compound. Anytime he was driving and he saw any suspicious car driving behind or before him, he would always alert the police. These led to the embarrassment of so many innocent citizens. He had always apologized whenever he realized that they were just people minding their own business. Sometimes he gave them some money to compensate them.
Cyril had already finished preparing to go for the second hearing in the court. With his wig and gown in his hand, he locked his door and moved to his garage when he saw a red Mercedes Benz parked before his house. He looked from his garage but could not see anybody inside it, the glass was tinted. He just left the key on the door of his car and went back to his house

. He called the DPO and informed him of the presence ofthis strange car in his compound. Looking at the time it was thirty minutes left for the court to commence sitting. He thought on what to do while the police had not yet arrived. He kept peeping through the window to know if the car was actually waiting for someone but the car remained there without anybody coming out from the car that was when he got convinced that the people inside the car before his house were meant to execute him. He took the back yard with his wig and gown, jumped the fence and boarded a motorcycle that took him to the court.

. He arrived at the Neboli High Court when it was already only three minutes for the judge to appear. Onyeka on seeing him was surprised and shocked. He watched him as a person he had never seen before.
In Chizoba’s room in her father’s house, she was going through Jennifer’s phone and shedding tears for the phone had always reminded her of the past good memory, she was doing this when she came across the phone audio recorders seeing one titled “COULD THIS BE TRUE?” She was very eager to hear the recording. She played it but couldn’t believe what she heard; she played it as many times as possible. She sat on her bed for over five minutes ruminating on how possible it could be that Chike could do such a thing. She was confused because she felt the evidence would be ignored in the court for Chike could deny the voice. After a while she sprang up to her feet, changed to a new dress and ran out of her room to the court. When she came out before their house, she boarded a motorcycle. Even when her mother was questioning her, she couldn’t make any speech.
The cause has taken another dimension all together; Lynda who was paid to come and pretend to be Flash’s girlfriend was now called up to the witness box. As Barr.Ogbu was cross-examining her Chizoba ran into the courtroom with the phone. Like a person who seemed to have forgotten the laws of entrance and exit in the courtroom she moved toward Cyril but was held back by the guards in the courtroom.
