A week had past since Dee spoke to Nick, yes she missed her but it was certain Nick didn't want anything to do with her.

It was at everyone's best interest if she kept her distance. What is love??? Love is sacrificing your own happiness and selfish desires for your partner's happiness... That was Dee's definition of love.

Nick had read Dee's letter and his heart was shattered.

Read " Attitude meets Arrogance " by the same author ( Fideh Mwangi )

. The words in that note were not words of goodbye but words that reflected a broken heart.

I love you Nick. I am walking away so as you be happy. You will always be mine forever although you may never be mine till death is only you I will love..Goodbye and be happy.

Everyday before bed Nick would read the note and couldn't control the tears welling up in his eyes. Was he being selfish??? Was he unfair??? Was he being too harsh on Dee??? Those questions always caused chaos in his mind and he didn't know how to answer them..

"Dee, how are your painting classes???" Gerald asked the hurrying Dee who didn't wanna be late for her classes.
"They are good, can't complain." She replied between the chews of her sandwich.
"Have you ever thought about working in our company????" Gerald remarked with a cocky smile..
"No dad, I don't know anything about our company. But if I did, I would love to help out..." Dee replied lazily...
"From tomorrow you will be the managing director...I have hired someone to help you around before you adjust to the new managing director thing..." Gerald laced out...
"Dad, is not good to joke around..."
"Who said I am joking, I need my daughter to be my managing director..."
"Thanks dad, I love you you are the best

. I won't disappoint you..." Dee rejoiced, hugging her dad ecstatically.

Dee had swore she would prove to Nick, she was a go getter and here was an opportunity to do that. Next time before Nick even thought of insulting her, he would choose his words carefully since he would be talking to the managing director..

"Dad, what about me????" Esther questioned, jealousy threatening to climb up her chest.
"What about you Esther, you are good as the financial manager and it will remain like that..." Gerald retorted, a tender smile on his face.
"Okay." Esther stammered, envy choking her up. Why did Dee always get good things in life, she wished she could just choke on her chocolate milk and die...

"This calls for a celebration later, I am so happy for you my girl..." Margaret twinkled, cupping Dee's face," make mama proud.
"And Esther take care of your little sister."
Esther nodded lazily forcing out something which looked like a smile..

"Okay Dee, let's go. I will drive you to your painting classes and I need you in the office at noon." Gerald demanded and Dee saluted him, "Yes, my boss." The whole room was filled with laughter as Father placed his arm around his daughter's shoulder and off they went.

"I am happy dad did this, at least Dee will make something out of herself..." Timmy commented excitedly.
"Yeah," Esther replied in a bored tone and Margaret couldn't help but notice she was envious," Esther, dear would you mind taking me shopping???"

Esther as shocked as she was agreed. She thought if she acted all good with her mother, she would win her favour and before Dee realised it, she would have lost a lover and a mother...

As Dee walked hurriedly up the stairs to her class, she bumped into a familiar chest which made her drop her books and painting brushes.

"Dee???" Nick called out, holding on Dee who was almost falling.
"Sorry I didn't see you..." Dee replied and pulled away beginning to collect her scattered things.
"How have you been???" Nick asked holding her hand which was collecting the final brush.

Dee felt like all her power had been sucked from her, her legs couldn't move.
"I am okay," Dee stuttered, pulling her hand away like it had been burned.
"You look great and I am glad you are o....." Before Nick could finish his statement, Dee had ran as fast as she could out of there...

Nick couldn't help but feel sad, he missed her alot but there was nothing he would do...He wished there was another way but no there wasn't . He was hopelessly mourning the loss of a person who was still alive. All he was was sadness and pain...
