Binded by friendship - Episode 4

 

Amyra's POV
"Haven't you done enough????" I thundered.

"I love you Amyra. I have tried to forget you but I can't...."

"You have too Jacob..."I said in a low whisper feeling a constriction in my chest.

"Do you want me to forget you???" He walked close to me that if I made a mistake of moving my head,our lips would brush.

I wish I could say no but I couldn't.  I was overwhelmed with the magnitude of the emotions I was feeling. 

I wanted to feel his touch,run my  hands down his chest,press my lips on his and confess how much I loved him but everything was a lie.

He had lied to me that he wasn't married only to find out in the most painful way. I thought that he was a miracle after a hurricane of misfortunes but I was wrong.

The universe wasn't ready to award me . God wasn't done with testing me and it broke me.

After been in a miserable and abusive marriage I thought this was it. You have finally gotten your perfect package Amyra. Your perfect match. But I was wrong.

"You lied to me Jacob..." I stuttered with my eyes close.

"And I am sorry!!!I didn't want to lose you...." He yelled,shaking me by the shoulders.

"But you did and that is all that matters..." I felt the wetness on my cheeks and each drop as it emerged from my eyes...

"Why can't you just forgive me Amyra????" He asked in a commanding tone.

I stare at him unable to speak anymore.
I felt that kind of hurting that cuts through protective layers of strength.

"Say something Amyra please..." He wrapped me in his arms and for a second there I was temped to find solace and comfort in there.

"She doesn't make me happy but you do...." He added, burying his head in my neck.

"My husband used to beat me up and after that he would spit on my face and tell me I am worthless and unlovable. You knew that and you still hurt me."

He pulled me back and looked at me with a face shouting pity and sympathy...

"For two years I didn't ask about the lipstick stains on his shirts because I had hope he would change

. I had hope that I would get the man I married back.That one day he would wake up and realize he was hurting the woman he loved and stop.But it never happened..."

As the weight of all the past memories crashed me down with no mercy,I took few steps back from Jacob.

"I am sorry..."He mouthed.

"I wish I left but I didn't until I was kicked out of my own house and a pregnant woman took my place." My chest felt tight replaying the nasty memory I wanted to forget.

"I can't do that to your wife because I know how it feels. I am guilty enough of sleeping with a married man unknowingly but going on with an affair is just wrong.  I can't wish the pain I felt even on my worst enemy...."

"But I want you,she doesn't make me happy..." He yelled in almost a loud voice.

"Then leave her??" I raged. My anger getting the better of me.

"I can't let my children grow up in a broken family Amy...." 

"And I won't be your escapegoat...." I said in a low whisper.

There was an awkward silence between us for a while. I was sobbing silently, my head in my hands when I felt his arms wrapped around me.

"Goodbye Amyra...."

His words tore my insides apart that I wanted to rip his heart out.

"I will continue paying for this apartment and supporting in whichever way I can..." He added,swallowing hard.

Sadness was overpowering my entire body that I felt weak on my knees.
I tried to open my mouth and say something but all I did was sob.

"Take care of yourself and always know I love you..." He kissed my forehead softly.

My eyes remained closed until I was sure he had left.
"I love you too Jacob..." I fell on my knees and continued to sob like it was the last thing on earth. The only time I stopped was to feel my lungs with fresh air..

Five months ago...
"I just found a cockroach in the food..."Jacob slammed the door to my office open.

"So you are the drama king????" I pointed out dryly...

"Excuse me????"

"How sure am I you didn't place it there so as you don't pay the bill???" I asked, not lifting my eyes from the computer..

"Are you kidding me????"He raged.

"Where is the cockroach????" I finally looked at him and almost fell from my chair...

Ulalalala!!!!What a fine ass man???

"How can a man dressed like this be a fraud???"He cussed out,pointing at his perfect tailored suit.
"Suits lie Mr."I rolled my eyes at him pretending not to be intimidated by his amazing looks...

"Can I take you out tomorrow and we can forget about all this???"He flashed me a mischevious smile.

"Are you okay in the head???Some minutes ago you insulted our waitress claiming you found a cockroach in the food and now you are asking me out????" 
I chuckled in disbelief.

"It's not everyday you come across a beautiful woman..." 

I scratched my neck shyly at the thought he found me beautiful. It had been a while since a man told me that.

"So what do you say beautiful woman????" He grabbed my chin and tilted my head towards him.

"The bill is twenty five dollars sir. Pay the bill first and then maybe I will say yes...."

"I will pay fifty dollars.Because I got to meet a beautiful woman..."

"Do you always say this to every woman????"

"Only you beautiful....Just say yes to this lonely single man..."

How my heart was beating,I was afraid it would stop from too much pressure.

"What's your name????"He asked while I wrote him a receipt.
"Amyra..."I stammered. His presence and cologne intoxicating me.

"A beautiful name for a beautiful girl..."His voice was low and seductive.

"Here,"He wrote his number behind the receipt,"I will be waiting for your call before tomorrow evening.

. Take care Amyra...." Even the way he said my name sounded sexy. 

He was just the perfect size for the big toy. Tall,dark and very handsome. And he seemed to have a sense of style and was aware a guy needed to smell nice.

***Present day***
We all want a guy who has it all. A guy who is good looking,stable and makes you feel like you are the only girl in the world.

Jacob pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me open my own restrauant. I hated been a manager at Melbris hotel and wanted to start my own restrauant but didn't want to take risks and fulfill my dream.

But Jacob taught me that the only way you can succeed is if you try. If you fail the first time, you can always try again.That people learn from mistakes.

He made me move on from my pain by showing me that I deserved to be loved and treated right like the queen I was. He showed me that my ex-husband Joseph was stupid for not appreciating what he had Infront of him.
He made me believe in love again only to break my heart

I wish I would be able to hate him but I can't. My love for him is not a tap that I can just turn it off when I feel like. In five months he made me the happiest girl in the whole world.

I wanna get past this pain.Past this feeling of guilt and betrayal for been the other woman responsible for breaking another woman's home but I don't know how.

All I know is I won't be hard on myself. A time will come when I will move past this and when I look back I will happy of  how strong I  was. But I don't know when????Because I am in love with a married man.
