Anjola - Episode 9

 

Busola let herself into the house quietly, she could see the muted TV set from where she stood,

"Hello,anybody home?"she inquired "where did she go now?"she picked up her phone to dial Anjy's number going deeper into the living room. A door banged behind her

"You're late, you told me you'd get here in thirty minutes time.. that was like two hours ago." Anjy sulked 

Busola sucked in a breath,

"who did this to you? I didn't know it was this bad....oh you poor baby, i wish I had been there, would have given that bi**h a piece of my mind." Busola raked hotly 

Anjy sat beside her friend smiling, 

"if you had, you could have gotten us into trouble, babe I'm fine really." Anjy tried pacifying her friend, Busola wasn't convinced but she would drop the topic, for now.

"I bought your favorite pizza, here take this . " Busola offered 

"Madam i was slapped, not maimed.. I can feed myself." Any said jokingly 

Busola glared, "you and your smart mouth. I'm sure when they slapped you, your mouth wasn't running like tap water."

Anjy snorted,"whatever. How was work."

"The usual...tiring,challenging...but fulfilling ."

Anjy nodded absently, chewing at her pizza, "Ehen, lest i forget sef, Bosun called me o..."

Busola looked on, "Oh really?" she said taking a large bite of her pizza

Anjy looked at her closely, "what's up with the both of you? He says you've been ignoring his calls.

. I know you wouldn't ignore his calls intentionally so i told him you've been busy and that you'd give him a call back... 

Busola slapped her half eaten pizza on the pizza box, "I would do no such thing!! Anjola, please don't act this way, you are no intermediary between myself and Bosun.. Like he rightly said we're just friends nothing more, i've moved on."

Anjola was shocked, she knew how much Bosun meant to her friend, and was shocked to see Busola denounce Bosun vehemently. 

"Baby girl, he's worried for you, i think he's started seeing your worth. He has been calling my line inquiring after you.  At least let him know you're fine." Anjola pleaded

Busola stood up angrily picking up her bag, "Anjola don't annoy me o, do i look like i give a damn that Bosun is worried about me, well let him be for once.. I've had feelings for him for so long and he was too blind to see it, its too late now, i'm going on a date with Eddie tomorrow."

Anjy was shocked, "Busola!!! But you told me you didn't love Emma? You said you'd never agree to date him even if your parents tied you on a noose." Anjy said, looking at her friend closely. 

"It doesn't matter, look, my parents aren't getting any younger, they want me to settle down as soon as possible. its obvious Bosun doesn't share my feelings,why should i waste my time waiting around for him... from now on i'm going to test the waters.. And see where it leads me.

Anjy didn't like this new path her friend was threading, "Just be careful, you know i love you right?"

Busola nodded, "I know you do... I'm going on a date, you should be excited."

"But are you happy?" Anjy asked

"it doesn't matter, Emma has waited so long for me to come to my senses.. My parents says he's the perfect match for me."

Poor Busola Anjy thought, she had finally succumbed to her parents choice of husband for her. 

Anjy walked the path back to her house, after seeing her friend off. she was lost in thought and didn't notice the car coming closely behind her. The slam of a car door, alerted her. She turned and was shocked, to see the last person she was expecting to see in her neighborhood, talkless of her front door. she stood defiantly before the door her hands folded beneath her bosom. 

"what do you want here sir." Anjy asked her face stern

Demi came over, standing before her "Anjola I'm sorry about earlier, i wasn't expecting her to do that,i should have stopped her too, please pardon my foolishness." He handed her a bouquet,her heart melted but she still looked firm, "Are you here to bribe me Demi, if you are its not gonna work." Anjy said, as she tried not to swoon over the chocolate box he handed over to her, 

"Ahem, well i will only accept this because they're my favorites and it will be such a waste to forfeit them."

Demi chuckled, " I couldn't agree more,"

"Are you mocking me right now Demilade?" Anjy inquired also laughing, she couldn't believe she was flirting so openly with her boss. 

He didn't seem to mind though as he moved closer to her, inhaling her sweet scent..he moved closer and as she stepped backwards her back hit the door,she was pinned to the door with nothing way of escape!! he looked into the everlasting pools of her eyes, "I like it when you call my name...you're soo beautiful." he leaned in, and Anjy knew if she didn't stop this madness she was going to be lost forever under his spell. She stepped away, clearing her throat, "I huh..thank  you for the gifts, see you tomorrow sir, good night." she concluded rushing indoors and slamming the door after her, she rested her back on the door and tried to still her thudding heart. She knew it was just a matter of time before she fell into his trap, but she'd escaped this night. She sat on the tiled floor taking in shallow breaths

"coward." Demi said chuckling to himself as he left for his car,he didn't back down on a challenge, and everything about Anjola reeked Challenge. He couldn't wait to see how long his PA could resist him for, after all no woman with blood running through their veins could resist his charms. 

This was going to be fun.
