Sarah turned to see who it was but couldn't recognise the face. The young man walked straight to her,smiling.
Do I know you? Sarah asked.
She has promised herself to stay away from men,since that was the only way she could get over what happened with Joseph. She didn't want it to repeat itself. She saw men as devils,and her father wasn't nice enough to prove her wrong
. Since the incident with Joseph, she has decided to be very careful and smart when it comes to boys,she didn't want her life to be ruined a second time,she found it very hard to trust any guy. Her heart was hardened when it came to men.
She gave the guy in front of her an angry look.
Come on,aren't you Sarah David. James said.
How may I help you,please go straight to the point. Sarah said.
Well.....we both wrote our entry examination together at St Williams hall. Remember? James asked smiling at Sarah.
I can't remember anything. Please I have things to do. She said and left angrily.
James stood still looking at her as she walked away. He couldn't help but wonder what might have happened to her to make her change all of a sudden. The first time they met was at St William's hall when Sarah came for the nursing entry examination. Sarah had asked if he was also taking the nursing examination and he told her he applied for pharmaceutical study

. Back then,Sarah was so nice and friendly,she even told him they were going to be great friends if they both get admitted into the nursing school. But now she was different,she was so cold and angry.
What could have happened to her. James asked himself.
Sarah couldn't remember who James was,and even if she did,she wanted nothing with him.
Sarah was in St Paul's hostel,room 23. She had time to read and focus on her studies. The life she has now was different from when she was back home. She had peace,she was free from all the hard chores and farm work. Even though Sarah had a great new life,she still missed and loved her family. If things had not turned out the way they were,she would have visited them this coming holiday. Home was a no-go area for her. She missed Uyoyo and her brothers. She missed going to the beer parlour,river and her father's farm. She had written so many letters to her father to ask how he was and make him understand she was doing it for the whole family and not once had he sent her a reply. David had erased Sarah out of his life the day she packed her things and left the house even after he warned her not to. To him,Sarah ceased to exist.
Sarah focused on her studies. She visited the library everyday to read. She made sure she did her assignments well,even if she had to give it the whole day. She was determined to excel no matter how tough it was. Sarah had two roommates, Bola and Titi who were sisters. Bola was a nice,calm and friendly girl but Titi was the direct opposite of her sister. She gets mad at anyone for no good reason and if she was pushed off limits,she unleashed her anger on anyone around. Sarah was friends with the two girls but she was very careful with Titi.
Sarah fainted in class and was rushed to the hospital. Could it be because of the stress she was passing through? The nurse collected her blood sample so as to carry out some tests. Few hours later,the result of the tests was out.
Are you married? The doctor asked Sarah.
No sir,why? She answered.
Well this result says you are two months and a week pregnant.....
