A woman's dilemma - Episode 63

 

Benjamin:

 I let Claudia drag me to the front of the hotel away. I know what she's doing and I let her. Hell, I'd seen the man sing to my fiancee and watched her cry against him. I've never seen that kind of emotion from Claudia before and I don't want to think about what that means. She's mine.
"What are you doing here?!" Claudia sounds so out of breath when she finally stops dragging me with her.
"I came to be with you, baby." I close the space between us and try not to let my face fall when she takes a step back from me . I pretend like I don't notice her withdrawal and put a smile on my face. I have to savage this situation.
"You missed me right?" I take her hand before she can move again and put it against my cheek.
"You wanted me to come right? I'm here now." I say softly.
"Ben..."
"I know. I've been a bad fiancé. Always traveling and working but I came to tell you that there's not going to be any of that anymore. I finally know what's important to me and that's you."
"Ben..." I don't let her say anything else.
"Let's get married, Claudia. This weekend? Now? Anytime you want baby

. You want that right?" I bring the hand on my cheek to my lips and kiss her fingers.
"You want that right?" I ask with a strained smile on my face.
"Ben.."
"Claudia I.."
"Let me get something out for Christ's sake!" She snaps suddenly and pulls her hand out of my grasp. Her hands go to her hair and she scratch it ferociously.
"Claudia what are you doing?" I ask softly.
"I shouldn't have yelled at you like that. I'm sorry." She tells me. I nod quickly.
"I get it. You're angry at me. I've been taking you for granted. You deserve to let some steam out. Hell, you can hit me if you'll like." I quickly take her hand and slam it against my chest.
"Stop it." She takes her hand from me and I grind my teeth painfully.
"I can't do this anymore, Benjamin." Oh no. My heart start to beat like crazy in my chest as I shake my head ferociously.
"No, I know. I get you. You're just angry. I'll make everything right baby. Just one more chance. Don't do this." I bite back the panic rising in my chest.
"You said you love me. Love is understanding. Love is patient."
"I know I said it but..."
"But what?!" I can't help it. My pain is beginning to turn to anger.
"Benjamin you have to calm down and let me finish." She tries to calm me down but I'm having none of that.
"Finish what? Finish making a fool of yourself with that man? Daniel or whatever he's called?" I can see that I've hit a nerve with those words but I don't stop even when she fires angry eyes at me.
"What? Am I saying anything that's not true? He's a star, Claudia! He goes through women like ordinary people change clothes. You're just the flavor of the week. Didn't he use and dump you months ago? I thought you were smarter than this, Claudia. When will you stop making a fool of yourself with that man!" I scream in her face.
"Shut up!" Her hand comes flying with her words and I barely catch the hand before it comes in contact with my face. I use the hand to pull her towards me and crash my lips into hers.
 She fight me but I'm much stronger. I pull her closer into my chest and maul her breast with my hands.
"Is this what you want? To feel like a woman?!" I scream like a crazed man. I don't even know what I'm doing anymore.
"Get off me, Ben. Get. Off." She push on my chest but I grab both of her hand and twist them behind her. She cries out in pain and that cuts through the angry haze over my eyes. I look at Claudia to find the top of her dress ripped.
"I.." before I can say anything at all, I'm being pulled away from her and a strong fist connects with my jaw. I'm blinded momentarily as I fall to the interlocked floor of the hotel. I groan in pain as I'm plucked off the floor by my collar.
"You scumbag!" The enraged face of Daniel Obi is the first thing I see before I see Claudia trying to hold him back.
"Let him go. They're going to throw you both in jail!" She cries. She looks a mess and it's all my fault.
"Claudia I'm so sorry. I..I..I don't know what came over me. I was just so mad and.." I try to touch her and before she can move away, Daniel Obi has my hand in a fierce hold.
"Don't you touch her!" He thunders and I pull my hand from him.
"Sir, we'll have to ask you to leave the premises please." A man in a suit who looks like more like a bouncer than anything else comes behind me to put a hand on my shoulder.
"I.. Claudia..." I try to plead with her with my eyes but she just looks away and put her hands around her like she's cold. I shake my head slowly.
"Let go." I rip Daniel's hands from my collars and move back.
"You're going to regret this Claudia. He's just a self absorbed jerk." I point to Daniel who chuckles darkly.
"And you're not?" I ignore his question when the huge man starts to lead me out.
"So this is it?! You're going to throw me to the curb again? Don't you think you'll come running back as usual Claudia?!" I'm roughly dragged out of the hotel and Claudia doesn't make any move to stop them. I don't blame her either.

Claudia:

"Are you okay?" Daniel asks quietly as soon as the security and Benjamin are out of sight. I nod my head slowly.
"I'm fine. I'll just go up to my.." I start to turn but get dizzy with the lack of oxygen to my brain.
"Claudia!" Daniel holds me up before I kiss the ground and I groan.
"I'm going to take you upstairs now. People are starting to take pictures." I pull my head up a bit to find a crowd forming and a few phone cameras flashes.
"Tell me you don't mind." Daniel whispers softly into my ear and I nod.
"Take me out of here. Please." He doesn't need telling twice. I'm pulled off my feet with no stress at all and carried through the crowd.
 They actually give way for us to pass. I bury my face in his chest and let him carry me through the hotel's lobby and into the elevator.
 I don't know what comes after this but all I know is, the only thing holding me together after what just happened is the scent of Daniel's perfume. His touch. His hold. It's all of him.
"I missed you." I say silently in his arms. I'm not sure he hears me until his hand tighten around me.

"I'm never letting you go." He tells me firmly.
