Lauretta's funeral.
Paschal has been so engrossed in the thought of giving his wife Lauretta a befitting burial. He thought about it every passing second that he could hardly complete any task without been distracted. Tongues started wagging on how he was at the verge of losing his job should he continued that way.
Friends and family were eager to help out with the funeral. Perhaps, that would make Paschal more associating . He was no longer the happy, jovial, boastful Paschal they used to know. His office used to be a place for solace and laughter. He was always making everyone happy. He hated seeing anyone been moody or unhappy. There were days when he would purposely joke about how his good look and smartness got him the most attractive woman in the world; Lauretta. Now the hunter has become the hunted. His colleagues now look for ways to make him smile at least. His office was always locked and would not be opened until it was time to go home. No more coffee. No more jokes. He no longer cared about a thing. He looked so unkept that he could be mistaken for a recuperating lunatic.
Paschal was at Lauretta's funeral, flanked by his friends and family members. Everywhere was as cold like it was winter and the drop of a pin would have been a distraction due to the tranquility in the hall. It was time for Paschal to render a eulogy as an obligation to her late wife

. He wiped his teary eyes, cleared his throat and began to read.
"These are the days I wished life came as a stationery pack; containing not just an ink, but also an eraser to wipe the errors common to our frailty as mortals.These are the days I wished I could just cover my path as though with sand, bury the already drawn line as though it never existed, retrieve the clean sheet I once had, click refresh, and realize my life has come anew once again"........
Paschal then turned to his side and saw Lauretta who gave him a sheepish look and whispered to his ears "would you like a second chance?" He opened his mouth in terror and excitement to say yes, just then he woke up.
Paschal opened his eyes and the first thing he said was "I can't believe I slept at my wife's funeral. You should have woken me up............ He then discovered he was actually in a board meeting at work. Every one thought he was going crazy but he rubbed his eyes again and asked if the funeral was over. At this point everyone burst into a hilarious laughter. Paschal then realized this was not real. He had been dreaming or better still, hallucinating this whole time.
The meeting was over and everyone dispersed quietly and amusingly. Leaving Paschal to his fate as nothing seemed to be making any sense to him
