The Past - Episode 2
David could feel the seriousness in her voice but was determined to
make her agree to his terms.
"You know the shame and disgrace this would cause you and I and our
families. What would the world say about this?", David said. He goes
on to his knees, "please dear, remove this to save us the shame and
disgrace. Please do this if you truly love me" . Grace was not saying
anything all this while. She only broke down in tears when she saw him
on his knees. She quietly walked out of the house.
David was confused all the while. He was confused that Grace walked
out without saying a word. But more confused as he does not know what
she was up to. He waited for hours with no sign of her returning. He
was hoping she hasn't done any harm to herself.
At around 10:30pm, Grace walked into the house. David was a bit
relieved when he saw her. They kept staring at each other without
anybody saying a word.
Grace finally broke the silence. "I am ready to do away with the
pregnancy", she said.
David was shocked and the same time happy that she had finally agreed.
"Are you sure you've made up your mind already", he asked with
curiousity in his eyes.
Grace replied him, "my mind is already made up to do it". David
happily hugged her and said "Baby I promise you that nothing will
happen to you

It was like all those words fell on deaf ears because she kept staring
into space without saying a word. She only entered the bathroom, took
her bath and went to bed.
The next day, been a Friday, David woke up and prepared early so they
could go to the hospital. He woke Grace who was still sleeping
comfortably and told her to get up and prepare.
She took her bath, dressed up and within minutes, they were already on
their way to the hospital. Thanks to the traffic warders, the traffic
wasn't that much. So they got there much on time and was attended to
earlier than they thought.
On reaching the hospital, they were lucky enough to find the doctor
who attended to them. The doctor asked what the problem was and they
told him.
"It's a very complicated issue. It's against the hospital's rules. I
don't think we will be able to do that", the doctor said.
"Please sir, you have to help us. This thing can cause our parents to
disown us. We know you can do it sir. Just help us", David pleaded.
After some time, the doctor finally agreed to do it. During the
process, the pain Grace felt made her scared. But the doctor assured
her that everything will be fine.
He told David to meet him in his office.
"She has done a lot of abortion and that has damaged her womb. This
last one now had to cost her the entire womb. We had to remove it to
save her life", the doctor had told him.
David only thanked the doctor and went home. He never called her to
know how she was felt after the process. And she was worried but never
said anything.
At last she was able to go home. And there, she recieved a shock.
