Its sounds cliché but it’s true. Days felt like years.

The leave of absence was now such a bad idea. Two days Jimmy said he had not seen Uri. I couldn’t wait to talk to him anymore, I was going to find him at his office. I didn’t care if chaos would follow or if i would be labeled the crazy bitch yet again. Staying in the house was driving me nuts.

Twenty minutes later I was parking in front of a building with the names Jackson and Jerry builders.  Jerry was my husband’s business partner, they owned a construction company together . I took a lift to the third floor where Uri’s office was located. His receptionist gave me that stink stare.

. I was the bad guy evidently.

“Can i see Uriel Jackson?” I inquired politely.

“Am sorry, who are you?”

I closed my eyes and visualized myself giving her a thunderous slap.

“Penelope can i see my husband?”

“No ma.am, he is in a meeting.”

I had waited for two days, I couldn’t wait a second longer. Without a word i matched past the receptionist and opened the door to Uri’s office.

Ten pairs of eyes stared at me.

Once again, I was the crazy bitch.

I closed the door without a word

. Uriel emerged from behind it a minute later anger visibly written on his countenance.

“What are you doing here? Do you want to embarrass me in front of my colleges? Guess what? You succeeded.”

“Am sorry Uri, I thought you had told your receptionist not to allow me in, I didn’t mean to embarrass you at all.”

I touched his shirt and he flinched.

Was he growing allergic to my touches?

I withdrew my hand.

“Uri I have been trying to reach you, your phone is going straight to voicemail, and i wish we could talk, you may not want it but i do.”

“Ella this is not the place or the time.”

“Uri i am sorry for all that i did that brought us to this spot, you are the man i love and the last thing i want to do is to divorce you.”

I did not wait for his response. I walked away and took NOTE stairs down.

I did not drive off immediately. I place my head on the steering wheel trying to figure out what divorce would mean to me. I would sell the house and move to a new state. I could not stay in this state that held so much memories. Everything now felt meaning less. The house was not a home without Uri in it. I couldn’t stay.

My phone rang and I picked it. It was Jimmy.

“What were you thinking? I told you not to go there.” Jimmy backed over the phone.

“Jimmy am so tired of trying while nobody is.”

He felt silent.

“What did i do wrong that my touch would make my husband flinch, Jimmy he is your best friend, what did I do wrong?”

“You changed Ella, you changed.”
