Jeremy's POV
"Why are you smiling like a love sick fool?" Yinka, my friend asked.
"She said yes, Doyin said yes", I shouted doing a happy dance. Her positive reply has made my day.
Yinka's eyes widen. "She agreed to marry you?" He asked.
I frown and stopped dancing. "No
. Not yet. She wants us to take it slowly".
"She's smart", my friend replied. "Although, I still don't understand what she saw in you", he finished.
I touch my jaw caressing my beard. "What do you mean by that? Yinka, I am not exactly a devil spawn".
Yinka wrinkled his nose. "Even though you dey go church like pastor, you still be bad guy. Abi no be you?" He said in fluent pidgin.
I sit down on my cushion. I am confused. "I don't understand you. You know me very well. I don't believe this is coming from you"
"Better believe it. Don't you remember what you did to Cynthia or did you think I don't know what you did to her".
I raised an eyebrow . "That was last year and I had a good reason to break up with her", I argued.
"She was....." I continued.
"She was what?" Yinka asked. He continued without waiting for a reply

. "You broke the lady's heart. She cried to me, but as you said that was last year. Let's forget the past. Just don't dare break Doyin's heart. I believe jerks like you deserve a second chance".
I shrinked at the word jerk. What did that witch tell him? I breathe in deeply.
"Yinka this is the first time we would be meeting after that event in Italy and I think you have been fed with the wrong information".
"Start explaining", Yinka chirped in.
Author's POV
Amani walked in to see Doyin and Jeremy having a heart to heart conversation.
Amani put a hand on her waist and scrutinizes the couple sitting on the floor chatting. They didn't notice her entrance.
She coughed to get their attention. They looked up a bit shocked.
"We didn't hear you come in", Doyin said standing up.
"How could you? I can see you are very busy", Amani said with an hint of sarcasm.
"Good evening", Jeremy greeted her.
She ignored him. "Maybe because I packed my car outside but still....."
"Amani, he's greeting you", Doyin said noticing her friend's rudeness to her man.
Amani faced Jeremiah. "We had a deal Jeremiah. What are you doing here? Do classy restaurants not open on weekends?" She asked him, her hawk- like eyes shining.
"I came to see my....." Jeremiah started holding Doyin's left hand.
"I can see that, but would you mind keeping your hands yo yourself", Amani ordered with a frown.
Jeremiah lets go of her hand.
Amani seats down comfortably.

Doyin and Jeremiah stare at each other. Doyin shrugged. One never knows what to think with Amani's mood swings.
Amani blurts out, "Thank God, I came prepared. Doyin, I brought you chaperones". She paused to see if her message sinked in. "I don't trust this your boyfriend", she added looking at Jeremy with this kind of bad eye.
Jeremy opened his mouth to talk but Amani cuts in.
"Let me introduce them. Darlings! Come in".
#I am really sorry for the late updates. Even this I had to squeeze in. My exams are fast approaching and the only thing I seem to think about is my GP. Hope you will find it in your heart to forgive me. I sincerely didn't plan for this to take time.
