Confession
Day 3 (Afternoon)
She needed more !!!
It been five months of not fellowshipping with brethren. She had to see God. She needed penance and probably, restitution. She headed for the church.
“Bless me father, for I have sinned. My last confession was years ago. These are my sins. I was born into plenty, I am an only child . My dad was amazing, he is till today the most caring man I ever met. i grew up knowing, feeling and seeing love. My dad worked with a textile company while my mum ran a restaurant. One afternoon, Papa as I fondly called him came home sad. His company had let him go. He lost his job. The first three months was blissful until Papa died in the hands of reckless cyclists. Mum cried, I wailed. Mum lost her poise. She became a new person. My mum was lost in her job. She ran the restaurants at night. I had to stay home alone. Things where beautiful. One night, thieves attacked the house, they did not heat me, they just walked to Mama’s room and packed all her jeweleries and wrappers. Mum accused me of plotting the robbery. She decided it was best I stayed at Aunt Naomi’s house after my afternoon school” She paused then continued, “Aunt Naomi was a fervent Christian, or so I thought. She was nice to me the first two weeks

. One evening, at about 8pm, while I lay on the mat in her kitchen floor, she came in and asked me to undress, cos the weather was hot, I hesitated but I agreed after much conviction. She loved me more than my mum, I presumed. The next evening, she left me alone in her apartment and went to church, I decided to impress her, I cleaned the house. She was glad when she returned, “come and give me a hug sweet girl” Aunt Naomi said. I hugged her. “You could pass the lie in my bedroom until your mum comes for you by 11:50pm.” I was delighted. That night, Aunt Naomi put her two fingers in me. She did this repeatedly, and I was gradually loosing my life. I was 14years. I decided to tell Mama, Mama was upset with Aunt Naomi for insulting my body. Aunt Naomi cried, she told Mama I was lying, she said I accused her because she had taken me to her church for vigil and the man of God said I had been possessed by demons. Mama believed Aunt Naomi. When Aunt Naomi left the house, thunder rained on me, courtesy of Mama. I stopped staying at Aunt Naomi’s, Mama said I would have to earn my meal, I helped with the restaurant.
Two years later Mama married. I loathed her husband, he was of no good. He was highly promiscuous. One day, Mama traveled, she had a wedding to attend. That night, Mama’s husband raped me.” She sniffed, then continued, “I told Mama when she returned, Mama accused me of trying to ruin her marriage. She flogged me. That night, I left the house.

. I was lucky, I started working when I got to the city. I found out I was with my mother’s husband’s child. I kept the baby. I gave birth to my child at home. I suffered fistula. I gave up the child for adoption. I was treated and I survived.I saved enough and four years later, I was in the university. After my boyfriend got me pregnant and accused me of flirting and loosing my virginity to someone I couldn’t mention, I aborted the child I had in me. Then I went back home, I poisoned my step father, I killed him.” She started crying. “For this sin and other sins which I can not remember, I ask you to forgive me, for Christ has given you the power to forgive sins.” The priest counseled her, then he gave penance.
She stood up, she felt refreshed. God had forgiven her.
