DAY 5

She walked the length and breadth of the street under the hot sun. She left the car with George, she did not deserve it.

She was hunting for her son. She had given him off to the Nwosu’s. the Nwosu’s were married for five years without a child. They were well to do and could cater for her son.

“Excuse me ma, am looking for Mr. Nwosu’s house.”
“They don park . Dem dey leave for G.R.A. House number 9.” Replied the lady she asked.

“Thank you.” She wished she had her car. Her whole life has changed. She needed to see her son and hug him, and call him her’s.

She got into a taxi and she was soon at the Nwosu’s .

“Who dey there” asked the gateman.

“I came to see madam” She replied

“Who you be?”

“Tell madam that ‘Mama baby’ came to see her”

“Okay”

Few minutes later, the gateman let her in. The house was enormous. She met Mrs. Nwosu at the door. “Welcome. Do come in”. Mrs. Nwosu said.

She got in, after exchanging pleasantries, she said “How is baby?”

Mrs. Nwosu’s eye swelled with tears

. “Baby and my husband died in a plane crash four years ago. I tried contacting you but I could not. Am sorry, I failed you. Please forgive me”.

“My son is dead? God, why? So this is where my tale ends”.  She began to cry profusely. He was all she had left, and she has lost him to the savaging hands of death.

After some minutes, she wiped her face, stood up to leave and said to Mrs. Nwosu, “It is well.

. What was he like?”

Mrs. Nwosu pointed to a picture on the wall, “He was more handsome than the picture shows. He was managing our company before he died”.

“One more thing, where was he buried?” she asked,

“At the Christian cemetery”.

“Thank you”. She left with less vigor. Her life was finished. She lost it all. She can never be called mother. Her son never knew her. She indeed lost all.

“My Name is Esmeralda Abimiku, this is my story, and I am the “she”. This is my tale. Am I a victim or a villain?” Like I said, this is my story, and you can say my memory failed, or I edited,
I could be guilty of editing.
you can say my memory is unreliable,
I have always argued if I was the villain or victim,
So much that it never occurred to me if I wanted to be either of those things!
Or which role I have played in someone else’s narrative.
Maybe things fell apart for good.
Today, am set to start a new page,
I really do not wish to be either victim or villain from this day henceforth.
All I want to be is Esmeralda Abimiku.

This is what I thought should be the last part.....but I feel there is more!

what do you think should have been done that wasn't? Does she deserve a second chance at LOVE? Is she villian or victim? Can she be happy?
