Regret - Episode 16

 

She decided that she was going to accept the proposal the lady offered her, then she would go and meet her madam, Rose and apologize to her for her absence and act like nothing is amiss. That way, it would be an easier task to poison Sara as instructed. After she picked up the card she had given her, incase she still had interest in her proposal, she called the first number she saw. It dialled for a while before she picked. 
"Yes, who is this?" She asked immediately she had picked the call. 

"It's Amy"
"Oh, Amy, Rose's house help?" she asked, her lips already curving up with a smile . She hoped it was something positive Amy was about to tell her. 
"So, why did you call? " she asked. 
"Uhm, I called because I'm interested in your proposal. Amy replied. 
"Oh, I see, you're finally interested, what took you so long?" She said smirking. 
"Please, just tell me what to do, I'm not in for any little chit chat" Amy said. 
"Hehe" she gave a wicked laugh.
"Okay, if you say so, let's meet up tomorrow, we'll talk things out better. I'll send you the location

. Better be on time" She said as she put down the down the phone. 
She was ecstatic. After the kidnap plan had gone down the lane, she thought no other solution was forthcoming. This opportunity was a big one, she had to grasp it immediately. She decided that they would meet in a place where people may not likely know both of them. She didn't want suspicious eyes prying on her. She would come in earlier and wait for Amy. Their meeting would be very subtle. It was better that way. 

Meanwhile, back at the hospital, Amy was thinking. She decided to lock up any conscience she had. "I would do this for the sake of my son" she thought. By that time, her son had already woken up from his sleep. 
"My son, you're already awake" she said. 
"Yes mum" George replied. 
"Then you must be hungry, let me give you the food I bought"
Earlier on, she had gone to a local restaurant to buy food for her son with the little money she had. The food stuff at home had already finished. There was no time for her to go to the market and replenish them. So she decided that for now, she would have to buy already prepared food. Her mind went back to her madam. She would go and visit her today, she thought. She would just wait for her son to finish his meal and then go back to sleep, then she would go and see Rose. She just prayed that Rose has not gotten someone new already. 
"Oh, my son, you've finished eating. " Amy said after she noticed that her son had finished his meal. 
"Give me the plates let me drop them"
"Mummy, thank you" George said. 
"You're welcome, my son"
"Yes, I was planning on telling you that I would want to resume my job. So you would be seeing less of me. Although I only work three days in a week but I just want to know of you would be okay with it. 
"Mum, you don't need to ask me, I'm perfectly okay with it. I won't be the one to stop you if you want to work. At least I know you need the money to do some things, so I won't be a barrier. He said in finality.

"Okay, if you say so my son, I would be going to meet her today, after you've slept off" Amy said. 
"No mum, you can go now, I'm fine by myself" he said in assurance. 
"Are you sure? " Rose asked. 
"Yes mum, I'm an adult now, so I'm fine" he replied. 
"Okay oo, let me be on my way" Amy said as she stood up to go. 
Amy left the hospital and had to trek to a major junction so she could take a bus to Roses' place. She couldn't afford a taxi. Even if she could she wouldn't waste the little money she had on a taxi when she could go on a bus, although a bus was very uncomfortable with all the people trying to rush inside.

She had reached the junction, she was lucky she was among the first to enter so she had gotten a seat which was hard these days because most people were left standing. The bus ride was rough, the bus was rickety so she expected nothing less but the fact that the fat man that sat close to her kept leaning to her side made her more uncomfortable. Finally she reached the junction she was supposed to stop. She was so happy as she came down the bus. She had to walk a little distance before she finally reached Rose's house.
