"Welcome back love. How was your day?" He asks pecking her and handing her a cup of strawberry yoghurt with chunks of Swiss chocolate inside, her favourite.
"Thanks darling. With it's fair share of ups and downs. Yours?" She replies smiling.
"Well, the kids are getting along great, I already solved my dad's issue and I'm still trying to figure out who wants me dead. I mean, I know but you won't let me torture a confession out of the ba*d."
Her smile drops and she pulls away from him.
"What?"
"I just remembered why I was going to divorce you."
"C'mon, it's obviously that Trevor guy . You have to see it."
"All I see is a jealous little boy in the body of a man. Don't touch Trevor unless you have proof he's behind everything. What I won't allow is you using this as an excuse to satiate your jealousy."
"It's not jealousy Olive. I know what I'm saying."
"Then prove it. That's all I'm asking."
"And if it turns out the i*t you're protecting is behind everything? Almost killing our son? Twice?"
"I'll torture him myself," she says with such deadly fierceness he swallows the retort he'd prepared for her answer.
He knew that look in her eyes quite well. She meant business

. That look that promised violence and death. She usually had it at her calmest. It was so imperceptible none of her victims had spotted it until she voiced her mind and even then, they didn't take her seriously until it was too late. He was just lucky it was yet to be directed at him because no one ever lived past her retribution. When she got that deathly calm, it was best to stay as far away from everything that triggered her anger, so he did what he always does best, he deflected.
"Okay, okay. I'll drop the subject until I have proof. Happy now?"
"I'm going to bed."
"Olive, don't be like that. C'mon. I said I was sorry."
"Thanks for the snack. Goodnight."
She goes up stairs, says goodnight to her babies and goes to her room. She strips and walks into the bathroom. The water is perfectly warm. Just the right temperature she needs to relax. She stands under the water for a while  when she hears him slide the glass doors.
"I thought I said goodnight to you already."
"I know, I just thought of a way to make it better," he says holding her from behind and kissing her neck.
"I'm not in the mood Alex."
"That can easily get solved my love," he says touching all her pleasure spots. He'd long mastered her body. It doesn't take long for her to start responding.
"What do you say we try for another baby."
"Not a chance. That reminds me, I need to call my doctor to put me on birth control."
"Why? Don't you want more kids?"
"No. I almost died last time. Which you would know had you not left and focused all your energy in plotting to steal my son."
"I already said I was sorry."
"Mmhm. I am yet to tell you whether or not I forgive you."
"What do I have to do to earn your trust again?"
"Get over your ridiculous jealousy," she says kissing him, " Oh! And one more thing... If you ever even as much as consider pulling that stunt you pulled with Max with any of my kids ever again, I will kill you. Slowly and painfully," she whispers into his ears squeezing his erect member, hard. The pain is so intense he grabs the walls for support.
"Okay. I give you my word love. I promise never to do that ever again," he says through gritted teeth. She smiles then directs him to her k*ty. Something about watching other people in pain always turned her on.
The next morning,
He wakes up and smiles at her. She was always more beautiful in the morning. He traces all her contours with his finger and imagines waking up like that for the rest of his life. He knew their marriage was still in somewhat of a probation period. She hadn't even taken his last name yet.
She stires awake, looks at him and smiles. For some reason, he usually looked more handsome in the morning, when all his thoughts were centered on one thing, her, she could tell by the way he always looked at her. There was a time she was addicted to that look. Back when she needed something to focus on whenever she felt the need to revert to drugs. It was when he left that she switched that want to her drive of ensuring her children never wanted for anything. She eventually readjusted it to her daughter when she thought Max had died and since he came back, she'd Ch h guy been trying to expand her focus to him as well. But that look still got past her defences in ways she didn't feel comfortable with.
"Morning sunshine," he says giving her a kiss.
"Morning hun," she replies holding his neck getting drawn into the kiss.
"What do you say to a family fun weekend."
"Don't you want to go back home?"
"Are you sick of me already?"
"I just don't want you to miss your brother's funeral."
"I won't. It's Tuesday, will you come with me?"
"I've got that meeting Monday. Maybe  I could round it up early and meet up with you over there."
"Thanks. I would really appreciate your presence, and that of the kids."
"We'll be there. I promise," she says kissing him. His eyes had gotten watery at the mention of his brother's funeral. She could imagine the pain he must have been feeling. She would never admit it to him but it broke her heart to see him so sad.
"When are you intending to take my name?"
"I'm not."
"Are you still not sure whether or not we should stay married?"
"That's not it. I'm a feminist love. I was born Olivia Michaels and that's whom I intend to die as. Had I not been one, I would have dropped my father's name and taken a my mother's sir name."
"Really, why? And how come you never speak of him. In all the time I've known you, you've never mentioned him."
"That's because as far as I'm concerned, he's dead. He walked out on my mom and I twenty three years ago without so much as a goodbye."
"Sorry I asked...did you ever try to find him or find out why he left?"
"No. I'm scared. What if he just left to have another family.

. My mom died some months after he left, I don't think I'd handle it well if that's the case."
"Do you want me to find him for you?"
"No. He knows he has a daughter. If he wants to find me, he knows where to start looking."
"And if he shows up some day, would you forgive him?"
"Depends on why he left and never came back. You don't know what I had to do to survive. As a child... no one deserves any of that. It's why I fought to ensure my child never goes through any of that pain."
"Sorry love. Forget it. It's fine...that you don't take my name. All that matters is that you stay by my side. I love you darling."
"I love you too," she says trying to pull herself out of the dark thoughts and memories that flooded her mind.
