Ireti was sobbing, she was talking to a Journalist demanding for her husband’s whereabouts. It is almost two months that her husband has been whisked away by Operatives of the DSS, different human right Lawyers have taken it upon themselves to challenge government action but government has refused to appear in court.  

It was Funmi that told Edward to let them involve international media to secure Tayo’s release . Thomas John, one of the Lawyer has challenged government in court to open Nigerian Voices Newspaper for production and demands for one hundred million damages. He has filed an application in court and it was billed for hearing in the next two days but government has reopened the company a day before appearance in court. He has gone ahead to still appear in court telling the Judge that the company has been opened but government must still pay damages to the company for unlawful closure of its operations. The case was adjourned to August for further hearing.

Funmi contacted a Reporter working with British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC, to interview Ireti. The interview was to hold at Funmi’s hotel but they moved it to Tayo’s residence.

“My husband should be released, he is not a Criminal, and government should release him unconditionally” she sobbed.

    “You are on a suicide mission, those Officers won’t consider your gender before attacking you” Francis warned Salome as both are eating.

Salome and her Nigerians Arise group have planned a peaceful protest for release of those in detention, her group has gained both local and international recognition since the last five million march against Abacha, some of them sustained injury inflicted on them by Police Officers who attacked them but she has not deterred.

“Your friend is also in detention, you should also join our protest” She walked away.
