"Honey why don't you pause for a while, is this how we are supppse to spend our honeymoon " she teased moving deeper into the bed.
Pastor Matthew would have been a fool not to detect the coyness in her voice. Nevertheless, he smiled and retracted himself from the bible he was studying and crawled to lay beside her.
"Let's watch some TV then"
In truth, he adored Bambi. He adored her more than the woman herself would ever know . Even now that He had started to realize how; pleasing this attention seeking wife of his was as comparable to balancing a rock on an already swinging pendulum,he could only chuckle.
He couldn't dare complain. Bambi had given him the one treasure his heart ached for. If not for Bambi, how would he have been made the pastor of such a money spiraling branch? How?
How would the head of the bishops ever hand over the reigns of such an important branch to a bachelor? How?
He had felt really lucky when the woman had accepted his last minute proposal and even when he considered it now, his time and devotion to Bambi meant nothing in comparison.
If not for Bambi he might still have been an assistant pastor right till this moment. Living under the shadow of another.
For 9years, despite his glowing reputation, all he had ever amounted to was assistant pastor.
And putting aside the likely hood that such a Golden opportunity would arise again, who knew when?
Bambi was his lucky charm, his God's sent.
It was two weeks after Reverend Oden had died, and the ministry needed another pastor to take over the affairs of it's biggest branch in the east and Everyone in the ministry knew Pastor Matthew was thier hottest property and the number one draft even amongst the Bishops and the council of elders.But the Man couldn't take any chances.
Even when Bishop Samu his 'father in the lord' assured him that his promotion was only a natural course he couldn't help but to play his own part and to secured every loophole.
In that vain, he needed to get a wife!
And who else but Bambi a choir Mistress and the closest thing he had to a girlfriend...
Just then, the TV came on and a brown skinned reporter was filling a news report about a man who had committed Suicide by jumping off the Mile river

Pastor Matthew felt unexplainably jitters as he listened to the reporter and even after Bambi made him change the channel, he still wasn't able to eject his consciousnesses fully from the scene.
"Honey what do you think can make a man commit suicide?" he asked after a while.
"Nothing!" Bambi shrieked before recollecting herself " I mean that nothing is suppose to make anybody commit suicide"
If only Pastor Matthew's gaze wasn't fixed on the TV, he would have noticed his wife face turned pale and her lips quiver as she answered him.
