In Love with a Kidnapper - Episode 19
~3 years after the kidnapping incident~
Jake stood outside the old Starbucks Coffee house. He blew into hands in attempt to get them warmer.
“Ugh, I hate winter,” He complained. He paced around over the sidewalk that was poorly shoveled. The sound of his new converse going over the salt stones echoed with every step.
“It’s pretty empty here. There’s no life on the street compared to my neighborhood,” he thought. ” To think after three years he would still conceal his identity after the
incident.”
He sighed and looked into the coffee shop. Jake felt a pang of stupidity. Why couldn’t he just wait in the coffee shop?
Jake rushed in brushing the snow off his coat and hat. He took a table near the window to keep lookout.
The entire shop was very stuffy and brown. The scent of Coffee was in the air and there was barely any customers. Some people who were actually there sat on the red couches with their laptop on their lap and coffee in their hand.
“Ugh, coffee,” Jake thought in disgust. “I hate coffee.”
“I was wondering when you would come in,” a familiar voice spoke behind Jake. He turned around and looked at the boy who sat across the table from him.
His same green jaded eyes shone under the poor lighting

. He wore a black leather jacket and baggy blue jeans with a yellow Hollister shirt. Compared to anyone else in the room, he looked the richest and stood out completely. Why didn’t I notice him at all?
Then he looked at his hair. It was blonde; with small brown tinges on some ends. That is why I probably didn’t notice him.
“You bastard! How long were you there? You could have at least called me into the shop! I waited outside for fifteen minutes! And you could have probably mentioned on the phone that you dyed your hair a different color! I’ve been looking at every single black haired man that passed me!”
“Hmm, I never thought that our reunion would be so… rude. And this is my natural hair color,” he smirked.
“Well we never ended off as friends, now did we?” Jake scoffed as he got up and sat in his section.
“I suppose not…” Nathan trailed off and looked outside the window. Snow started to fall down again.
“How’s Kim?” He asked. Still looking out the window.
“It’s been three years since you left her.. so… Nathan… Why are you appearing now?”
“I have my reasons,” He replied looking dazed. He still looked out the window.
Jake looked down at the table. Nathan’s hands were fiddling with a small velvet black box. It was the size of his palm and he was rotating it back and forth with his right hand. He hadn’t noticed at all this entire time.
Nathan turned to face Jake and opened his mouth to speak, but suddenly, Jake smashed his hand onto the table, causing other customers to look. Jake apologized then looked back at Nathan.
“Nathan.. there’s something I haven’t told you yet about Kim…” Jake whispered.
