Kim’s Point Of View~
[Three weeks later] My whole body felt numb and sore. Did I die? Is Nathan okay? What happened to that crazy Sharon?
I began to hear a familar voice of my little brother and mom.
“Hey hey Mom? Is sis’ gonna be okay?”
“Of course baby…”
“If she dies can I have her room? I mean she hasn’t been awake for a weeks now,”
“Hey Shrimp! Don’t talk like that! You’ll upset your mom!” ..That… voice…i
“Na…Nat..” I began but my throat was so dry.
“Shes awake!” Simon exclaimed. I could feel his little hand clinging onto my arm . I flinched at how cold his hands. I began to sit up again and looked around the room. My mom who had shrivelled hair and swollen eyes looking bright as I faced her way. Simon who also had swollen eyes and tears falling down his face and… Jake.
“What…What happened?”
” You got into an accident. I don’t know the details, Jake said that a friend of yours brought you here and disappeared before he could ask what happened,”
“A friend… disappeared?” I whispered. Tears began forming, so did Nathan make it? Who brought me in? Why did he leave?

. He gave a slight nod, signalling to ask questions later when other people leave. I looked back at my mom.
“Wheres dad?”
“Hes away on a business trip, he sends his regards.” she quietly said. I felt a cold chill down my spine. Last time I heard about my dad was that there was a possible chance he had tried to kill me. I wanted to talk to him, ask him if it was true, but he is randomly gone? I felt uneasy and the room began to spin.
Then my bedsheets , myself and Jake were covered in vomit.
“I’m sorry,” I whispered as Jake changed into a huge grey sweatshirt found in the ‘Lost and Found’ bin.
“It’s fine, its not like back in grade five where you pinned me and tickled me so much that you made me piss and shit my pants at the same time,” Jake laughed.
“Okay, in my defence, you were asking for it!” I smiled. I missed the old days like this, but with so much that had happened its hard to believe how much people can change. Soon my smile faded.
“Wheres Nathan..?” I quietly asked.
“I don’t know,”
“What do you mean you don’t know?!” I yelled back.
“He…left Kim. As soon as you got knocked out due to the drugs, he brought you to the hospital and then, left. Hes not coming back, Kim. To much has happened to you the moment you stepped into his life.. he doesn’t want to make it more worse,” he sighed.
“And you didn’t stop him?! Were you just happy that he was leaving so you can have me to yourself?! Or was it that you finally can show me your true self?! Don’t know I don’t know about you and Lucy! Oh and those Roses? I know it wasn’t you asshole,” I yelled. I knew I was going to far with things. It wasn’t his fault, but all this rage is building up and escaping just by looking at Jake.
It was completely silent after I stopped yelling at Jake. It was like he was taking it all in and accepting it. I could read the guilt in his eyes for what he had done but also loneliness.
“Sorry… Just…Please.. Just get out Jake,” I croaked.
“Kim…”
“JUST GET OUT!” I screamed as I threw my back pillow at him. Although he managed to swipe it back at me. He got up and placed something on the table. Then left.
The moment the door had closed. I placed my head at the pillow Jake had thrown back at me and began screaming. I hate this. I hate Jake. I hate my father. And… I hate you, Nathan for leaving me…
I looked back at the table. On top was a small picture that was taped in the middle and faced down. Just by looking at it I knew what it was.
I grabbed the rip up picture on the table. It was the same as always last time I had seen it.. except there was small writing on the bottom right hand corner saying:
Your arms will not be empty for long. I will return back soon. Wait for me.
