Ichabod - Episode 31

 

 Harmony woke up very early the next day, she had a very important shooting and she was getting dressed.  It was a Saturday morning, meaning Tracy didn’t have to go to school.

While she was getting dressed she was boiling inside. Maybe the whole thing with Ichabod was a mistake. Maybe she shouldn’t have tried to kiss him when he was clearly with someone else . She was certain that the lady whom she had seen at the club the other night was Debby. She wished she had taken a better look at her but, maybe it was the best.

Vivi had left early that morning to get ready for the scenes, now Harmony knew that Ichabod would make her later since he had apparently not come back from wherever he must have gone last night.

“Take the bag into the car, I need to call Ichabod,” she said to Tanya who was behind her.

She took a deep breath and then brought out her phone, she discovered she already had six missed calls from Michael. Se rolled her eyes. The day was just getting worse.

Ichabod’s phone rang twice but wasn’t picked. Where the hell was he? She thought. Now she was just getting really angry. She thought of going to his room and the next second, she was opening the door but the room was just as she had left it-it was empty and his towel was lying on the bed.

Now she was getting more angry.  She walked out of the room and then decided to drive herself to the place, she wasn’t going to be late because of her own stupidity by kissing someone whom she hardly knew.

By the time she got outside, she was surprised to see Ichabod all freshly dressed up, waiting in the car

. Seeing him reminded her of what had transpired between them the previous night and the way he was looking really cute in his blue shirt made her forget the reason why she was angry with him in the first place, oh right-because of Debby.

Tanya closed the door after she had settled in, she tried to ignore Ichabod who was looking at her from the rear mirror.

“Hello beautiful,” he said with a smile, looking at her from the rear mirror but she said nothing. She looked angry. Could she be angry because of what happened the other night? He thought. But she had kissed him back and they had a good time together so what was the attitude all about. He pulled the gear and began to drive. Still his mind was not settled, he really hoped Michael hadn’t gotten to her.

“I just sent the direction to you right now, that’s the hotel,” she said coldly, not returning his look.

He sighed, women could be so dramatic so he pulled over.

“Why are you stopping? You very well know I can’t be late,” she said angrily, still not looking at him.

“Look at me Harmony,” he pleaded, turning around to face her.

“Why do I need to look at you?” she asked, folding her hands while looking away.

“You are angry with me and I need to know why. I am sorry if it was because I kissed you last night. I am so sorry, I thought you wanted it and because, I couldn’t stop myself, there is something about you that I can’t just explain but if you want it to end, I will understand.”

“So that was why you went to meet Debby last night after kissing me?”

What? What did she just say?

“I beg your pardon?”

Finally, she was looking at him. “Debby, you heard me, who is she?”

He was suddenly confused, “I do not know what you speak of Harmony.”

“Don’t you dare lie to me Ichabod. Why didn’t you sleep at home last night? Why did you have to vanish just after we ….”

“I was in the car,” he quickly said, he had already planned this.

“You were in the car?”

“Yes, I slept here throughout. I just felt like sleeping here. Why would you think I went to meet another woman?”

She sobered up a bit but then she asked again, “so who is Debby?”

He frowned, how was he going to explain this. “Debby?”

“Yes Ichabod, you called me Debby last night when you kissed me.”

“Oh!” he said, as if surprised, “I’m sorry, I should have told you.”

She frowned, “told me what?”

“I was once married,” he said, catching her by surprise.

Harmony couldn’t believe what she just heard, “you were once married and you didn’t tell me?”

He nodded, “I’m sorry. Debby was the name of my wife. She died.

Now she was quiet, this didn’t make any sense if his wife was Debby, then why did it mean so much to her as if…..”okay Ichabod,  I’m so sorry, I just wished you had told me,” she said soberly.

“So are we okay now?”

She nodded. They got closer and their heads touched.

He reached out a hand and held her hand, “I have lots to tell you Harmony but now is not the time. “

“Well, then I guess you don’t need to give me a birthday cake, you can just tell me all I need to know about you on my birthday.”

“Your birthday?” he asked.

“Yes, it’s in five days’ time,” she replied with a smile before their lips touched.

Some minutes later, she was getting out of the car and was waiting for him to do the same.

“Don’t worry, I will come later, I will wait here for a while,” he said and she later went in.

Ichabod was disturbed, that was really close but now he had more things to think about.  The sun was fast approaching and he had no ring on. That would mean not being able to step out of the car, else he might just not be able to get in again. He couldn’t walk in the sun without getting burnt. It would be too risky especially if Harmony saw his skin burning like paper in the sun. She would die of a heart attack. Apart from this, her birthday was coming, how did he not remember that November 15 was Debby’s birthday as well, and also the emergence of the Fullmoon?
