The timekeeper rang the bell as he shouted, "Dinner time."

Ebun and I stood up quickly. I closed my computer, put it in my bag and left the class instantly. Ebun left me to do the same, and would meet me at our post. I walked quickly to our post , which was to stand by the walkway and ensure no student went out of their line. My school had a strictly one line policy. Annoying.

Ebun arrived in time. Some people had joined the line, and it had started moving, while some ran to the hostel to change from their sweating housewears to fresh ones.

In no time at all the line finished. Ebun and I walked to the dining talking, and laughing. Getting to the hall didn't mean we were set free, we had to stand in the hall again and ensure there was perfect decorum in the dining.

A lot of things had changed since our tenure began. We had prefects table, prefects no longer stayed on their table. We spent our dinner looking over the students, ensuring they don't talk or do anything that not right in the dining.

"Kneel down there! And both of you follow me," Joseph said to a group of student, pointing at the ones he was talking to. He was charismatic, he had the leadership spirit or skill in him. Students feared him, and did whatever he said without thinking twice. I heard his slap can reset someone's brain, and tighten lose nuts in people head. I chuckled.

I watched as he punished the two boys he told to follow him, telling them to do frog jump in a spot. I smiled to myself again. I was too engrossed in him, I forgot I was with Ebun. She angrily tugged at my top, making me to turn to her reflectively. She frowned at me, and my brain instantly went to default mood. I looked away from him, and changed my position.

Dinner time passed quickly, we all went for prep. Boys had their prep differently, so did girls. Boys in senior school, and girls in junior. I spent my prep reading, I didn't go online on my TalkFree account. Ebun too read a lot during the prep.

Immediately the timekeeper rang the bell, I packed my things and gave Ebun to take to the hostel for me as I made hase to the health bay.

I walked straight to the matron's office, immediately I got there. She had the drugs ready in very small plastics, so as the students arrived, I gave them their drugs and told ether to leave. After all the medication students had gone, the students who had complains were called in. I had no concern there again, but I had to wait until there are no more students there again.

I sat down on a chair, opposite the matron office. I was bored, and started looking around and poking my hear into people gist. I huffed as a boy was telling a girl how much he liked her, and how bad he wanted her to be his girl. Tah! Boys can lie ehn! I looked away, to poke my ear elsewhere but instead, I saw Tolu making his way to me. I looked away, like I didn't see him.

Tolu is my family friend, but I don't talk to him. Whenever his family comes to my house, he mostly talks to Ethan. Eric was a small boy, so there was nothing to say to him. "Hey." I wanted to pretend like I didn't hear him, but I couldn't.

"Hey," I replied with a smile. "Err...I have to go now, maybe we can talk another time." I smiled as I excused myself. I quickly walked away, and tried to pursuing all the students that had nothing to do away.
