Broken sisters - Episode 4

 

As a girl, you only have principles as long as the one guy is not in your life... 
 I always saw myself as a girl with principles. At least I have refused to fall for any guy no matter how cute or rich he was, I just use him and move on... I already forgot what heartaches, felt like until today. Ben and I met in a way that won't amount to anything at least that was what I thought . Imagine my surprise when I found out he was the son of my boss and my promotion was in his hands, something I wanted badly. I felt so bad and lost all hopes of getting the promotion in fact I was already searching for a new job. Once I got to the office the next week, I hurriedly packed my things to leave before I get handed the doom letter. Then it came. Mr Ben walks in..
Ben:
Oh! You're already packing .
 CLAIRE: 
Well it's not every day you insult your boss's son. I guess I'm one of the unemployed youths again.
Ben:
What are you talking about? 
Claire:
(Looking confuse)
 Ben: 
(Stretched his hand and gives her a letter)
Here! And leave that your secretary will move them we are about to start a meeting don't be late.

Did he just say meeting? The promotion I applied for wasn't going to get me into the Monday meetings. I quickly opened the letter I almost collapsed when I saw what was inside 
CLAIRE:
Oh my God!! I have being promoted to head of my department?? 

"I'm the new head of department..." I screamed..
After the meeting I followed Ben to his office, I really needed to know why I got the promotion I probably should have been demoted.
CLAIRE:
Sir ple...
(Interrupts)
Ben:
Just call me Ben
CLAIRE:
Oh! Alright

. Ben I would like to know why did you promote me? Not that I don't appreciate but I wouldn't promote me if I were in your shoes...
 Ben:
You deserved it.. what ever happened that night doesn't concern our business..
Well if you don't mind, I will be going for a meeting now

I  left the office wondering what kind of guy Ben was he even congratulated me even after what I did..
I tried so hard not to think about him but some kind act just can't escape your head and this kind of act definitely reaches the heart, i know because it got to mine. 

Why is my heart doing this to me.. why is the thought of Ben the first thing that comes to my mind when I wake up. I can't continue this way... I need to get him off my mind. Slowly Ben invaded me without knowing... I couldn't help but stare at him every time he passes my office. 
we started having lunch together everyday then he asked 
Ben: 
Hey Claire, I was thinking, maybe you can come over for dinner this night?

Of course no was not an option. This time I had no option than to be nice.
I got to his house at exactly 8:30, he just finished setting the table when I knocked.
We talked about alot of things while eating, and I enjoyed his company alot. He was even more fun at home than the office, I also have to admit, he was quite funny and sweet.
We were almost done with dinner when someone knocked at the door.
Ben stood up and headed toward door. From where I sat I could see them kiss as the lady walks in. 
LADY:
Oh my God! Ben seriously? Who the hell is this? Who are you? You know what don't answer that.. Get the f-ck out.
Ben:
Rebecca calm down she is ...
 
Before he could finish she already slapped him twice..
Rebecca:
I can't believe you.. I always knew you were a cheat, I didn't expect you will bring one of them home.
 Get out of my house she said as she stormed towards me. I guess my legs couldn't hold me after the slap but I wouldn't take that from my fellow u pushed her hard as we fought as we could.
I woke up next morning feeling the urge not to get up from my bed as my head was aching from last night. I remembered I confessed my feelings for Ben during the fight but I also figured he never gave me any reply. While I was wondering whether I should go to work, I heard the front door open it was Sandra, she just got back. I called the office immediately to tell them I won't be coming to office today due to some illness . Sandra and I left the house to see a movie then get a drink and lots of other stuffs. On reaching the house I stood outside to receive a call when Sandra called out 
"Errrrm  Claire? You might want to come inside now."
I opened the gate only to see Ben standing right in front of me
Ben:
Hey!! I. Sorry about yesterday, I had no idea she would be coming back..
CLAIRE:
No I should apologise, I shouldn't have fought with her, I'm really sorry..
Ben:
Well I guess we both have something to apologise for. Let's get a drink then, I pay for the first round you pay for the second..

Ben and I left for a bar nearby we talked about lots of things crazy ex and others till it was time to go home. We got outside the bar and I leaned forward and kissed him. He responded like he had been waiting for it all day, then someone interrupts
Rebecca:
Are you kidding me?
First our favorite dinner now Our favorite bar? Ben!!
Ben:
Rebecca please let me explain.
Rebecca:
Explain what? She is just a friend? Yea you said that already.. Ben I'm till sour from our last fight I came here to apologise to you but I guess you don't need it.

Rebecca turns to leave, Ben hurriedly held her
Ben:
Rebecca please listen, I just. She...
Rebecca:
You're gonna have to choose Ben.. it's either me or her..
Rebecca walks away...
There was an awkward silence before Ben tried to say something and i cut him.
Claire:
She is right Ben you have to choose it's either me or her..
I stopped a taxi immediately and leave.
Ben goes home confuse he already developed feelings for me from the first day we met but is he really going to choose me over Rebecca?
