Anjola - Episode 25

 

Three months later... 

Golden Tulip Hotel. 

Anjola paced around, looking really pissed,activities went on around her,from the makeup artiste setting up her tools, to the designer from house of Tara bringing out the lovely dresses and customized shoes meant for Anjola to select from(This had been a surprise package from Demi), but Anjola was too pissed with the person she was trying to reach to acknowledge anyone or anything, she kept dialling a number and the line kept disconnecting, she flung off her hair wig, 

"This girl better got a perfect explanation for this flop, what's the meaning of this rubbish na? get out everybody!! Out!!" she yelled 

The room was vacated in a flurry, Anjola sat on the edge the bed, flinging her phone on the bedside stool, she looked over at Busola. 

"What's with the silly look you've got on your face?" Anjola inquired

Busola laughed, "You're nervous is all i can see, you need to relax..."

Anjola scoffed, "who says I'm  nervous?"

"Well for one you've sent everyone out of the room and if I'm not careful I'd be the next, its pre-wedding nerves, remember i was the same when i was about getting married." Busola soothed 

"well can you blame me? that silly girl is not here yet, she promised to be here before six.This was the main reason why i wanted everyone to dress from here, you all were saying i should let her go last night, now look at the time, just take a good look at the time!! i want all my ladies in waiting set before seven, becauae Demi's cousins are coming over to video and take our pictures before going to the church, how do we meet up if she's running late ehn?" Anjola complained petulantly 

Pami came in dressed in her bride's maid number,she was looking quite stunning, "Babe relax joo, she'd be here, you better don't give yourself high Bp o.".Pami said, primping in front of the mirror 

"Toh, you heard what Pami said, she'd be here soon, meanwhile you also should get ready." Busola said, going to call back the crew Anjola sent out. 

Pami sat beside Anjola on the bed, making a keening sound "Demilade like better thing o, see as this bed soft, hmm, this night will be ghenghen." Pami teased 

Anjola laughed, "you have started abi, its just for tonight jere, we are travelling for honeymoon tomorrow."

"Ehn-ehn!! Zanzibar royal resort, here you come, Abeg bring everything being-able when coming back o." Pami teased

"Pami, i can't laugh o, don't worry will bring you something."

"Trust you na.." Pami hailed

Anjola shook  her head, sighing she closed her eyes briefly, conjuring Bimpe in her mind, 

Mom the day is finally here,I'm getting married.

"You may kiss the bride." The congregation cheered standing as the wedding march kept playing underground, Anjola pulled Demi by his lapels standing on tip toe she locked her arms around his neck, and kissed him.. Her bold attempt shocked Demi, and everyone in the congregation cheered the more laughing at them.

. The officiating minister cleared his throat,and Anjola opened her eyes tonging out at Demi, "You're mine now, only mine!!" she said, linking her arm with his as they walked down the aisle, 

"I hope you know you've poked the lion by that show you just performed Mrs Olaotan?" Demi said, whispering in her ears.

Anjola raised a brow, "Will you bite?"

Demi stared at her lips, "Depends..."

Their conversations was stilted as guests trooped around  congratulating them, Busola came over to wipe  the imaginary sweat off Anjola's face, confetti spread by the Bridesmaids as they passed by,a Limo was already on standby waiting to take them to the reception, Mrs Wonu came over to hug her and Demi praying for them. Anjola saw that she wasn't looking too cheerful and knew she was remembering Bimpe, she hugged her firmly, "All is going to be alright Mom." Anjola assured. Wonu smiled, wiping off the tears in Anjola's face, "Don't cry baby girl, i am sure Bimpe is happy where ever she is."

Anjola nodded smiling weakly, Demi patted her hand reassuringly.They boarded the Limo amidst the capturing sounds of cameras, the Limo headed straight to their hotel, where the reception was also taking place.

As soon as they got to the hotel, Busola and Pami helped her out of her dress and into a pearl studded dress, it was meant for the reception. Her hair didn't need much styling, so she wore it on a high ponytail. 

Demi's Mom came in and both her friends excused them. 

"Don't you look so lovely!!" Aanu complimented 

Anjola rushed over to her, hugging her "Thanks for everything Ma, the household items are just perfect, our looks like a palace, oh i don't know how to thank you."

"You liked them?" Aanu asked looking pleased 

"I loved them!! Everything!! Thank you Ma."

"You're welcome. And please call me Mom, my son is a lucky man, you are a beauty to behold!!."

Anjola blushed "Thank you Mom." Anjola said

"Don't worry by the time you return from your honey moon, I'd have your home looking so state of the art, I can promise you, you will be thrilled... 

Demi came in "Mom, you've said enough, don't wear my wife out with your talks this evening. Your husband is waiting for you outside."

"Toh, see you around, your flight to Zanzibar is what time?"

"Ten in the morning ma." Anjola answered

Aanu nodded, "oh, okay..." she said,giving Anjola a hug "Welcome to the family daughter." she leaned to peck her son on the cheek, and exited the room the door clicking. 

Anjola smiled looking back at Demi, "Your Mom's so nice... 

Demi stepped forward a mischievous glint in his eyes, "hmm... But i can be nicer,give me some minutes and i would show you."

Anjola stepped backwards, the backs of her legs brushing the bed post,Demi held her close, kissing her forehead down to her eyelids coming to her nose, "Dee..we should be at the reception... everyone will be waiting."

Demi pulled out her hair band, raising her face to his, "Babe,most of the people you see out there are here for show, its our party."  He scooped her up, much to Anjola's delight, she giggled.. wrapping her arms around his neck she leaned up and gave him a light kiss... 

Demi chuckled, putting her back down. "what's that? are you pecking your Mom ni. Babe I'm your husband now o, that's not the way to kiss one's husband joo." Demi scolded

Anjola brought her arms akimbo, "So how do i, dear husband." Anjola asked, her eyes crinkling with suppressed laughter.

Demi drew her closer once again, "Let me show you..."

And Demi was true to his words, loving Anjola both in words and actions, day and night, their love waxing strong each passing day, and the following years.

And Anjola was consoled after the death of her Mother,Bimpe.
