Unwavering Guts - Episode 1
One would understand the anxiety of a newly graduated student awaiting admission into the higher institution, every other day becomes boring and somewhat slow, endless chores, Well, This was the state of Bayo, who chatting was now the only thing interesting to him.
It's the dawn of a new day, boring as usual for Bayo, Bayo is chatting in his room, scrolling through email notification, then an email notification pops up on his phone
"Thank God!! Thank God!!" Bayo exclaims with astonishment looking at his phone "Dad!! Dad!!" running out from his room to the living room
Mr. Oladupo who is heading out to work stops in shock and is now fierce "Adebayo!! What is it that.."
"Dad look!!" Bayo cuts in, handing his father his phone
"Why are you giving me your phone?!!" Mr
. Oladupo said angrily
"Just look" Bayo persisted
Mr. Oladupo looking at Bayo's phone discovers is an admission letter from Michael Okpara University of agriculture, Umudike, Abia state into her college to study engineering, which read "... You've been offered provisional admission for a five year programme into the college of Electrical and electronic technology......" is now wearing a smiley face hugs Bayo deliberately
"Congratulation son you're truly your father's son, We're going to celebrate this, I'm heading to the office now, later you send me the fees, your mom is in her room go and share the good news" Mr. Oladupo handling his briefcase to leave stops and turn to Bayo again "When do lectures begin?"
"In three weeks time" Bayo replied
"Alright go and tell your mom, I'll see in the evening" Mr

That evening, Bayo was in his room listening to his favorite musician ; Wizkid, Dancing like a pro, Then he hears a knock on his door, he heard Bisi; their maiden telling him his parents is calling him. Bayo who knows he's up for a 3 hours chat in the name of advice brings his back up; his phone. Mr. Oladupo switches off the the television and focuses on Bayo
"Bayo you do know your education level has taken a step further which means you need to improve your reading habit so you'll acquire a first class result you know I wouldn't tolerate a second class result and this madness" pointing at Bayo's phone, needs to be put off.. "
" And no bad friends " Mrs. Aisha adds, the rate of cultism is high these days, wolf's wearing the face of sheep's, in fact no friends and if i must say girlfriends, girls are Distractions...."
Bayo, who is stuck in his imaginary world of him having fame in college, girls crushing on him by just looking at him, having a cool house and car, could only hear his parents muffling.
"... And no car or personal house whatever till final year" Bayo's father kept on advising but this statement snaps Bayo out of his imaginery world
"What?!! No car!! , no house of my own!! Please dad I can't be living with lions with masks of roommates, you do know how college is, with lots of mad people!!"
"Bayo, it's for your own good," Mr. Oladupo said leaving with his wife; Mrs. Aisha Oladupo to the bedroom
"But Dad" Bayo murmurs
"It's my decision, this conversation is over" Mr. Oladupo said
"This man own strong o.." Bayo murmurs silently watching his parents leave the sitting room
Bayo phone starts ringing which he ignored at first but later discovered it's Bisi; the new girl he met during his post-UTME
