Dr  YEARS LATER...

Gwen rode her bicycle down the beautiful tarred road of harmony estate. She sighed badly wishing she was living large like the people who lived in the house she rode past.

The late morning air was cool, a gentle breeze blowing from the ocean. She stopped for a minute to breathe in and admire the view the ocean provided only to snap out of her thoughts when she remembered she had a place to be and that was laundry delivery because her mom was a laundry woman. 

She rode passed some of the perfectly constructed gate with pretty flowers lined in front of the fence. It got her thinking what it would feel like to like one of them . Driving a big car and living in a big house, she remembered when she was a little girl. Her big brother had drawn a house and grinned proudly "I'll build this house Guinevere it will be better than this and will all live there" he smiled and ruffled her hair. Too bad he was dead he wouldn't ever be able to build the house for them not even for papa.

She frowned when she wiped a single tears slipping down her face. She parked her bicycle when got in front of a Grey painted gate with nothing but well groomed tree standing in front of the fence of the house. Hurriedly Gwen dipped her hands into her pocket and brought out a piece of crumbled piece of paper "Williams Mansion Number 52"she looked up from her paper to the inscription at gate

. Gwen nodded, praising her luck and knocked on the gate.

She frowned when she got no response after knocking and knocked again. 

" who be that? "an angry voice asked

Gwen looked at the gate wondering in her and the person behind the gate who was supposed to be angry "na me I bring laundry clothes come"

The security man looked through the peep hole of the gate. He opened the door wide enough for her to enter the compound. She stared wide eyes at the compound looking confused on which route to take it being her first time.

"Sister" the security whispered placing a hard on her shoulder "walk straight turn left then you go see a cream colored door don't knock just enter" 

She nodded her head "thank you" Gwen said dragging the bag full of clothes behind her.

She followed his directions, carefully noting the turns she took so she wouldn't loose her way when she wanted to go home. Inside the house was beautiful down from the sleek tiles to the curvy grand stairs of the house. Gwen watched a woman who was moderately dressed come down the stairs. 

"you must be the laundry's woman daughter right?" 

"yes ma" 

The woman give her her a friendly smile "I'm Mrs Julia general household keeper and your name is" Julia inquired 

"Gwen" 

Julia smiled "alright Gwen, come along we don't have all day " Gwen followed her to a room behind the staircase "this is the laundry room but we don't have anyone to do the laundry all the time, the madam of the house prefers outsiders to do the job" she answered Gwen's confused look of the room "please place the bag over there" she pointed at the bag Gwen was carrying "it must be very heavy" Julia commented. 

Gwen looked relieved after dropping the bag on the table "anything else you want me to take for washing?" She asked. 

Julia nodded her head "yes my dear. Just wait for me in the hallway" she lead them out of the room into the hallway "please wait here" 

"OK" Gwen nodded and Julia left walking up the stairs. Gwen decided to take a look around. 

Scarlett rushed down the stairs hurriedly and ran for the door not seeing Gwen standing in the hallway she bumped into the her the force caused Scarlett phone to fall from her hands landing a few feets from where they stood "you blind little filthy bat" she eyed Gwen. 

"I'm sorry" Gwen apologized and bowed her head 

"you stupid thing, is this what you're paid to do everyday. Walking around, standing idle?" Scarlett hissed in between clutched teeth 

"ma I don't..." 

A slap across her face silenced her, she blinked her eyes several times 

"don't talk when I'm talking" she again and went over to pick up her phone from the ground "oh my god" Scarlett screamed in alarm her feets stamping angrily on the ground "you bitch you broke my IPhone" she walked over to where Gwen was standing her watering from the slap "you..." she breathed angrily "do you how much this phone costs" Scarlett laughed sarcastically "i guess even with your salary in a year you wouldn't till be able to afford it" she spat in her face circling Gwen like a lion on a hunting expenditure "I'll teach you a lesson you've never forget" Scarlett hit Gwen in the chin with the phone with force the poor girl fell down. Scarlett bent down and began to scratch her "stupid girl" she added pulling Gwen's hair while she laid on the floor begging for mercy. 

A pair of hands pulled Scarlett from Gwen's poor boby "what the heck is wrong with you" Elina the madam of the house asked angrily. 

Scarlett froze she forcefully pulled her hands from whoever was holding her. Gwen sat on the floor hugging herself and crying silently. Scarlett turned and gave Elina a charming smile but the smile fueled Elina's anger towards Scarlett. 

"i asked you a question what the heck do you think you're doing?" Elina asked. 

"this girl" Scarlett pointed her finger at Gwen "was caught trying to steal and in the process of getting her to admit to her crime she broke my iPhone" she answered coolly 

"you senseless girl" Elina push Scarlett angrily 

Scarlett looked shocked "aunt you should have seen the way she was looking around" 

"you're a liar" Gwen shouted in a defensive tone  at Scarlett her filled with tears 

Elina closed her eyes in annoyance then opened them "Scarlett go to your room" you commanded 

"Aunt I" she tried to talk but Elina interrupted her 

"i said to your room, I've had enough of you in one day. You're always causing trouble. Get out of my sight" she screamed 

"Aunt I can' explain" 

Elina sighed "just go" she waved her hand 

Scarlett hissed and brushed past Julia almost knocking her down 

"are you okay? " Elina asked Gwen kindly "I'm sorry she hurt you" she wiped Gwen's tears away. "what's her name?"she asked Julia 

" Gwen "

Elina smiled "what a beautiful name, I want to apologize to you I'm very sorry please" Elina intertwined her fingers with Gwen's. 

"it's OK ma" Gwen responded in a sore voice 

"really?" Gwen nodded "thanks" Elina laughed helping Gwen to her feet. "Julia will see you get home safely" she patted Gwen and left.
