Saved by Love - Episode 9

 

     At Akinlolu's office, there's this lady by the name Chidinma. She is a beautiful dark-skinned lady and she has been trying to get close to Akinlolu since he was announced the new Architect so as to worm her way into his heart. One day after work, she went into his office and gave him an invitation card to her birthday which was the following week Wednesday and Akinlolu promised to show up since they had conversed a couple of times and she seem like a nice girl.

That day, whilst eating dinner Akinlolu asked Adara,

“Babe, what do you think i can get for a lady on her birthday?”

“Anything. You can get her favorite perfume, a dress, a designer bag or purse, anything depending on your level of closeness with her.”

“I see . Are you not going to ask me who I want to buy a gift for?”

“Why would I? You are a grown-up man who has the right to get any lady he wants gift. I would have objected if we were married or are, we married?”

“Really? That's what you are going to say?”

“Akinlolu, what do you want me to say?”

“Just forget it.” He said standing up and he rinsed his hands and made his way to his room. Why couldn't she just be jealous? Why couldn't she just date him? What was her problem? These and many more were the questions that occupied Akinlolu's mind till he drifted off to sleep.

     As promised, Akinlolu went for Chidinma's birthday

. When he got there, she introduced him to all her friends and Akinlolu presented his gift of a leather Gucci wrist watch and a smart collection perfume to her and she was very happy. She put the wrist watch on immediately and hugged him tightly.

After taking pictures with her and spending two more hours, he left knowing Adara would be worried as he didn't tell her he was going out after work and so he stood up and bid Chidinma goodnight but she stopped him saying,

“But Akinlolu, I thought you were going to spend the night with me.”

“Spend the night? I can't do that. We have work tomorrow and I have to get to the office to finish the work I abandoned for your birthday.”

“Okay, let me walk you to your car.” She said and as they got to where he parked his car, she leaned forward and kissed him. Akinlolu was shocked and she used that to move in on him, pressing her body to his but he gently pulled away and entered his car and she bent down, revealing her cleavage and she said, 

“Thanks for coming, you made my day.” She turned to leave and he drove away.

     On getting home, he met Adara seeing a series, he dropped his keys as he said,

“Good evening.”

“Welcome, your food is on the table. Please excuse me.” Adara stood up to leave,  

“I am sorry i came home late...”

“I know where you went, saw it on your update.”

“Oh!”

“Yeah, how was the party?”

“Great. It was really okay.”

“All right. I am glad you enjoyed yourself. I am going to bed now, so tired.”

“Okay. Sweet dreams.” Akinlolu said and Adara went to her room.

    Akinlolu resumed work the next day and he kept getting close to Chidinma. He kept meaning to dissolve their friendship soon because he knew Chidinma was not the kind of girl he could associate with, with all her indecent dressing and vulgar languages.

A week after her birthday she visited him at home on a Saturday, she was wearing a black strapless mini gown. When Adara opened the door to see who it was, she was astounded, this gown could go for a long top. Who was the lady here to seduce? 

“Helloooo.”

“Oh! Hi, please who do you want to see?”

“Funny you, did Akinlolu not tell you to expect me?”

“Oh! You want to see Akinlolu, come in, come in.” Adara ushered her in just as Akinlolu came into the sitting room and Chidinma went to hug him just as Adara found the way to her room.

Two hours later, Adara came to get a drink from the kitchen and as she was leaving the kitchen for her room, Akinlolu who was perched on a stool in the bar asked, 

“You think she is okay?”

“You mean the lady that just showed up a couple of hours ago?” Adara asked for clarification as she lowered herself on a stool opposite him.

“Yes, that's Chidinma.”

“Well, she is okay but I didn't know she sells flesh.

“How? What does that mean?”

“Her dress was too revealing and with all those make-ups? Ugh!”

“Why all these oppositions? Are you jealous?”

“Akinlolu? Me? Jealous? But you asked for my opinion and i gave it.

. Is it because i am now staying under your roof and you are feeding me? That's why you think i am jealous? Because of some twit? Is it...?”

“Adara take it easy please. I didn't think, i just said the first thing that came to mind.”

“It's okay. I am off.” She said standing up and as she walked few steps away, she turned and said,

“And that reminds me, I am moving out tomorrow.” Akinlolu was dumbfounded, what did she mean by she was moving out? where is she moving to? This girl will be the death of me, he thought as he decided to let her cool it off for a while.

Later that evening, Adara was cooking dinner when he strolled into the kitchen and he held her waist as he pressed his body against hers, she turned thinking he would release her but instead he just lowered his head and caught her sensuous lips in his. Oh! The kitchen got heated up. 

Adara tried to resist but he didn't let her go but immediately she could talk, 

“Do you want to rape me?”

“No! Why would you think that!” He protested dropping his hands from her body.

“You know I love...”

“Don't!” She said raising a finger at him.

“Okay, I am sorry for everything.”

“It's okay, I am not angry. Just don't touch me, okay? We've agreed on that.”

“Why are you moving and where to?”

“Oh! To my apartment. I got one dope self-contain close to the shop so I have to move.”

“Why didn't you tell me all this time?”

“It was meant to be a surprise.”

“That's a nasty surprise. So, you are leaving me tomorrow. Can I get a hug at least?”

“Okay.” Adara said smiling and he hugged her tight before she turned back to what she was doing and he assisted her.

     The following day, Adara moved into her apartment and after helping her to do some basic arrangement, she cooked, they ate and Akinlolu left. He spent the night alone in his house feeling all lonely and deserted. 'And this is just the first night?' He thought to himself. 

The next week on Thursday, Chidinma went into Akinlolu's office, she went around his desk and made to sit on Akinlolu's lap but he was fast enough to stand up and he said,

“Look Chidinma, I think it is high time we put an end to this closeness.”

“What do you mean Akinlolu?”

“I mean from now on, you see me as your senior colleague nothing attached and you are a junior colleague to me. Do not call or chat with me again.”

“Can you imagine? You are detaching yourself from me? Did you think i loved you before? Rubbish!” Chidinma replied heatedly and left his office slamming the door after her.
