Ugoye was confused at the diviner’s request and in her confusion asked what could be achieved if she collects the sand for his work? In her mind, she fears the Diviner might use the sand to prepare an enchantment that might affect both families since late Ngene was not born to mother earth with land but was born like others and besides she did know if their land has been fortified with another enchantment of protection either by their father or Late Ngene himself. Her mind raced to so many negative things that might happen to the family she was so disturbed that she asked the Diviner politely “ what will the sand be for?
The diviner told her that ‘’what you don’t know is above you and also your age mate’’ . But Ugoye did not take any of those idioms but insisted she will like to know how far they can go with that. Normally, a doctor may not tell you about the medications administered on you during treatment but will hope that the dosage will give you a breakthrough to avoid keeping you hopeless but in the native doctor’s world, they talk a lot thus he told Ugoye that he will prepare an enchantment with the sand so that the children of Late Ngene will be working like Elephant but eats like an ant.( The world is deep). Ugoye was skeptical and he thanked him with a promise to come back and left.
She travelled back home and came back before the the eight days he supposed to have a meeting with the son Nwude, but it did not deem her comfortable to let anyone know she is back

. She pondered over the diviner’s message and encouraged herself that anything you consulted from a diviner, do as you are told and not as you wish then leave the rest for the gods. She shrugged her shoulders while unknown goose pimples enveloped her. She wants to stand up but could not; a sudden fear came over her. She remembered her husband Ama- akolam and felt like being with him at that moment. She paused her thought and said to herself; ‘’ she is here to have children for Ama- akolam’s lineage and not to be like him. She wondered if Ama-akolam knew all these but kept it to himself over the years, she fidgeted and stood up. “(THERE IS NO PEACE FOR THE WICKED)”.
As she was about going in, the cloud made a loud noise and lightning followed suite because it was in the raining period, and out of fear it might strike her she fell down and covered her face. Moments later while she was about to get up, being an old woman, age had seted in, the boy living with her (househelp) came around to take his washed school uniform spread under the sun during the day, but was shocked on sighting a figure in the darkness and in front of a house where no one has been sleeping for some days. Out of fear the boy shouted and threw off his oil lamp, Ugoye jumped up immediately and shouted in her weak voice the boy’s name to come back that she is back  from travel; to no avail because the boy was panicking and running as fast as his young legs could carry him thus the boy could not could decipher her tone, but his safety was paramount.
Ugoye have allowed her evil motives to overwhelm her and is becoming her own shadow. She picked up the boy’s lamp but could not proceed with her initial plans to go inside, so she took the advantage of the boys knowledge of her presence to go and meet Nwude and his wife and also let them know she is back from her supposed trip,
She was all smiles as she knocked at Nwude’s house. They were busy entertaining themselves with mimics on the househelp who ran in claiming to have seen a ghost in their mother in laws compound. Ugoye chipped in by confirming the boys fear and explained to them that she is just coming back but was forced to reach her house because of the heavy load of goods she is carrying. She claimed she was resting outside when the househelp rushed in and mistook her for a ghost or a thief. Hmmmm…..(Evil minds are manipulative). She then asked after their health and his son Nwude; which they wellcomely retorted that all was well, though Nwude is yet to return back home for the day. She chided the boy to be a man, because Men do not fear, and they laughed it off.
Two days later, Ugoye sent the boy to Nwude’s house to call him. Nwude arrived later and this time there was no food prepared for him as usual. She explained to Nwude where and how she travelled and her findings.’’( Nwude you are the first son of your father… Why have you taken after your mother’s negative characteristics? The first son, naturally should be his first happiness and should take after him. Every living being wants to succeed but in different fields. Why not be happy with the favours from the gods than the greed.( The good men dies with their good  deeds while bad men dies with their evil deeds, if you don’t know how to be good, emulate or learn from  your good  neighbor or friend, for it is what you sow you reap)”
They deliberated extensively about her findings but the mere fact that they will collect sand from Ngene’s compound sent chills into their spine. They were scared because the gods may strike and besides there is sand everywhere what will be the scooper answer if caught? Will he/she say she is planting or scrubbing a charcoal pot? (The more evil deeds you breed the more demons possessed your spirit and soul.)
Nwude became courageous because he understands her mother is in support of him. He told Ugoye to give him some time to make more enquires in his own way and thanked her for her effort.  She told her that there should solution in a way since the only impossible thing in life is waking up the dead.
The following day Nwude made up his mind to go and see his father who was visually impaired but his sense of understanding is still intact. Nwude brought a local fowl from the cage and aske d his wife to prepare his father’s favorite meal of yam and chicken. He went to the market and fetched a good palmwine for both of them to have a good and long discussion.  Nights before Nwude met his mother after her arrival Ama-akolam had dream that was giving him worries that he has been brooding on how to go about; why, meaning and how to treat it. He intimated his father about his visitation
