Episode

The Great Grand Father of Uzochukwuwalu by name Ama-akolam has seven children, comprised of five daughters and two sons. The two sons are Nwude and Ngene. Nwude is the eldest son and is most senior to the daughters before the birth of Ngene the last child(son).

Nwude was a merchant that trades in jewerlries while Ngene was a native doctor by reasons as the gods bestowed on him.

Ama-akolam cherished and valued his two sons and believed that different profession is an edge in the compound of great men. He has a merchant and a native doctor for protection, though he was a strong man spiritually at the level of his ignorance in their days.

He trained his two sons to always be a coin of different side bound together and to share ideas, assets and appreciate each other.

The myopic Ngene improved negatively that he believes and elevates himself as his elder brother's protector against evil men, evil forces and evil enchantments while the elder brother's wealth and business is for both of them . Nwude and Ngene had never had any land dispute as their father shared land proportionally between them. In Ngene's  proud attitude, he detests working to live and invest, but loves living to work for himself, family and friends, still his attitude did not deprive him value, and financial caring from his elder brother as indoctrinated by their father.

Inversely, an adage said it that "one mother can give birth to children, but the gods mould and share destinies individually". It is only your efforts when you have come of age to seek relentlessly and in good faith what destiny the gods have in stock for you"  That was in their era, but in this age and time, different means of success abound, that you may, when all things are not equal be affected or diverted from your destiny by Education, environment, friends, relations and peer groups

. Many carelessly end in voodoo, occultism and christ-like idol worshippers - ( Church goers that are not Christians).

On the part of Ngene, the gods made him rich and wealthy, may be because his mother suffered before taken in to have another son and the pregnancy period was bedeviled by many attacks from unknown forces of wickedness that the parents believed that evil men and forces foresaw the child's destiny but tried to terminate him before birth. Thus when he was born, he was channelled out of fear by the parents into native/pagan practice to enable him earn respect and reverence because Christianity was not popular also the Bible and word of God was obscure. The wealthy destiny of Ngene prospered him in everything he does and excelled him in divination(igba-afa). He was popular within Umuaku town, neighboring towns and beyond. To this; had it been he was channeled into world of business or education, his gods will abide and prosper him as destined. Ama - akolam knew all these but kept it to himself rather trained his two sons to be each other's keeper.

Ama- akolam betrothed a maiden/wife to Nwude his first son at early tennage age because Ngene the last son was not given birth on time as he wished. Thus Nwude had children before his youngest brother Ngene. Nwude also knew his father very well. Ama-akolam was very helpful in raising Nwude's family for him. On the part of Nwude, he had six sons but had no daughter while Ngene who married later had four sons and three daughters but lost a son and a daughter to  mysterious deaths. With this scenario Nwude had more dons than Ngene(who died earlier before his eldest brother Nwude)

It was after the demise of Ngene that one of Nwude's son (OBIDI)  who lives in jos took custody of the youngest and most gifted among the sins of Ngene by name (NWORA) to train him as wished by Ngene before death and mark of respect to him and kinsmen.

Before the death of Ngene, Nwude sought his own diviner in another town to know personally what the gods have in stock for him and to confirm if he has enemies within the family or kinsmen. "THE gods HERE ARE NOT TO BLAME", he received a body chilling message. The diviner told Nwude that he has a very good seating and will be prosperous but his brother Ngene will be more prosperous than him. He told him also that Ngene's wealth is generational and will favour the whole Ama-akolam. Nwude could not believe his ears. Years passed by, Nwude sought another diviner from another town, the diviner told him similar revelation from the gods but added that Ngene his brother, in his goodness prepared a general protection enchantment to protect the whole Ama- akolam family both present and unborn from external forces or wickedness of jealous men.

After the last visit to a diviner, Nwude came back demoralized. Their mother Ugoye( Wife of Ama-akolam) observed that all was not well with her eldest son's mood and attitude. He is now a sultry man which has not been his usual character trait. But she kept it to herself. It was not her right to monitor her married son's mood but her privilege since his hut was close by hers. She believes that the good wife of Nwude should be conscious of changes in her husband mood and know when to ask or request for something and when to keep quiet. " An Adage said that, Mothers never forgets their first sons" which was why some mother in- laws and daughter in-laws quarell or keep malice. Nwude' attitude grew worse that it influenced his family negatively. Sometimes he skips meals prepared for him in the morning and in the evenings for reasons he kept to himself. His wife was pondering where she had gone wrong. A day came, that the wife summoned courage to ask as they were about retiring to bed, she prompted the question; Nwude mutted and went to sleep.

Another opportunity came, after the village yam Festival(ili- ji), when everybody was happy. Nwude' wife made effort to know what is bothering  his husband, it was on this day that Nwude cleared his throat and replied her ..." Woman!! Go and rest, for you know nothing about the world of Men". The good woman was able  to understand from his statement that something is wrong but she did not give up.
