Jack gave her a helping hand, and they continued their journey.

Honey, we have just tomorrow to agree to the kidnappers demands, and we are yet to come up with anything, said Mrs Adekunle as she pace round the sitting room, with swollen eyes as a result of endless tears.

Chief, you must step down, your governorship is nothing compared to the life of my daughter, please step down so they can release my child, said Mrs Adekunle as tears flowed freely down her eyes.

Please pull yourself together, pleaded her husband.

I believe Jack will get them out of there, he is very smart, said chief.

Mrs Adekunle stood up angrily, so you are leaving my daughter at the mercy of Jack?? I can't believe this, she said.

Can you please calm down, we still have from now till the end of tomorrow, let's just relax and pray nothing goes wrong, said chief as he hugged her.

Chief and his wife decided to rest their head a little, since either of them couldn't sleep well last night. Immediately chief eyes were about shutting, his phone rang.

He didn't want to pick up, but when he saw the caller's name, he sat upright.

Hello Jack, where are you, asked chief, immediately his wife heard the name, she got up as well, almost snatching the phone from his hand.

Can you please stop shouting, said her mum, I have a headache.

Mum, once i tell you what i want to tell you, your headache will disappear, said precious.

Okay fine, go ahead and tell me, said her mum.

Jack and Stacey are on their way home, said precious jumping like a two year old.

Oh my God, screamed her mum, with a big smile on her face.

Yes mum, they both escaped from the kidnappers, said precious excitedly.

Her mother began dancing and singing, precious just looked at her and smiled, mum am going over to chief Adekunle's house, said precious.

Wait for me my daughter, I will go with you.

Honey, I have something to tell you, said Mrs Adekunle to husband.

What is it, my dear, he inquired, Well dear, our daughter Stacey is in love with Jack.

I know i should have told you before now, but i did not know how to break the news to you, and Stacey was too scared to let you know about it.

Please forgive me for keeping it away from you all this while, she said with her head down.

Her husband smiled, and pulled her closed.

You don't have to be sorry, he said. Am aware she loves Jack, I have known for sometime now.

How come you never mentioned it to me said Mrs Adekunle giving him a surprised look.

Well let's just say i was waiting for you to tell me, said chief.

The day she told you she was in love with Jack, I was walking pass her room, and i heard your conversation with her, said chief smiling.

I knew our daughter is in love with Jack and not mark, that's the reason i didn't force her to marry Mark.

Am so sorry i hid it from you, said Mrs Adekunle, feeling guilty.

It's OK my dear, said chief.

It's our daughter's happiness we are talking about here, whatever she decides, i will support her, he said as he hugged his wife.

There was a big bang on the gate.

Peter quickly got up from his to go and see who it was.

When he saw it was Jack and Stacey, he opened the gate quickly for them to come in.

Ahh small madam welcome back, he greeted, my guy Jack, you too much, am happy you both are fine, he said, Chief and his wife heard voices from outside, and decided to check, since they were expecting Jack and Stacey.

Immediately they saw it was them, Mrs Adekunle rushed to the gate, and gave her daughter a tight hug, thank God you came back to us safely, said her mother.

While they were still hugging, the gate opened, and precious walked in with her mum.

Jack turned around, and he saw them, he was filled with joy, as his mother hugged him.

Welcome back my son, she said with a smile on her face, precious also joined in the hug.

John came out to see Jack at the gate.

You don't have to thank me sir, it's part of my job, said jack.

Please let's all go inside, the sun is too much, said Mrs Adekunle, as she ushered everyone in.

Jack took his family to his room, but he had to steal a quick glance at Stacey. His eyes met with hers, as they both smiled at each other.

Immediately they got to the room, John said, but my guy, e no b like say dem kidnap you oo, see as u fresh come back.

What was her response, she asked.

Positive of course, said jack smiling.

Am really happy for you my son, at last you have found a lady that you love truly, said his mother.

Thanks mum, said jack smiling, as he hugged her, Stacey and her mum were in the living room discussing, when they heard a knock on the door.

Stacey thought it was Jack, but when the person came in, it was mark.

Good afternoon ma, he greeted Mrs Adekunle.

Stacey, how are you, I hope nothing happened to you, he asked asked as he sat next to her.

Thanks for coming to check on me mark, I am fine, she replied.

I told my father not to do anything stupid, but he wouldn't listen, and he went ahead with his threats said mark.

Your father is responsible for this, chief said as he walked in, yes sir he is, said mark.

And i thought it was chief Daniel that was behind the kidnap, yes chief, it was the both of them said mark.

Am really surprised that your father had a hand in the kidnap of my daughter and Jack, said chief Adekunle with anger in his voice.

His phone rang, when he picked, he was informed that they have caught the culprits behind the kidnap.

When he hung up, he told his family of the development, and he went straight to the station.

When he arrived at the station, he was directed to where Mr Okafor was kept.

Why did you do it, chief questioned him, i thought we were good friends, inquired chief.

Did you just say we were friends, asked Mr Okafor, hell no, we are not friends.

U call yourself my friend, but you went ahead to off the wedding between our children, simply because you want to deny me the position in government house, said Mr Okafor.

That's not true Mr Okafor, I called off the wedding between our children because I noticed they were not happy with the arrangement, it was as if we were forcing them on each other, that's the only reason i called it off, chief explained to him.

I had no. Intention of denying you of the position, stated chief.

Chief, am very sorry, please i didn't know what got into me said Mr Okafor, feeling sorry.

You allowed your anger and quest for Power get the better part of you, said chief as he left the station.
