Melina - Episode 26

 

I was not really okay with quitting the job, in as much as Lina's mom accepted to pay my bills, the need for independency was so high, nobody knows what happens next.

When Lina's mom entered to go and meet dad, I went upstairs with Lina.

"When last did you talk with charity and Christie." ...I asked Lina as I noticed its being long the trio got together .

"Its being long Riel, and they haven't called, unlike them, since I started dating you, they have been acting weird, so I let them be the least of my problems " ... She said scratching her hair .

"I need to go get some clothes from my house, if I am going to sleep here again tonight "...

"you are going to sleep here, so let's go get the clothes then ". . She said reaching for her car keys .

We drove to my apartment and I picked two set of clothes, and we drove back as fast as possible so that we will be there when before dad comes back .

When we got to the house, it wasn't up to thirty minutes, dad came back .

"good evening sir "... I greeted as I headed to aid him carry his briefcase.

"good evening son, what about your dad?".. He said as we walked together to the sitting room .

"He is in the visitors room"..

. I said before Lina came to welcome him .

"he should get ready, we are going to the airport very soon, you are coming with us".. He said as he went to the visitors room .

"Can't I come with you people too, dad?" ... Lina cuts in

"Okay no problem, you all should get ready then"... He said before he let the hook of the door handle off its holder .

I and Lina went upstairs to get prepared .

"am I making up?"... She asked looking a lil confused.

"Are you going for a pageantry ?" .... I asked with a small laugh.

"Duh.. I will do light makeup then "... She concluded and dashed into the bathroom .

After 15minutes , she was out, she headed to her mirror while I went to take my bath, I was done bathing and she  was still trying to put on a slight makeup .

I got dressed and headed to my dads room to get him ready .

"its 15minutes more Lina, let me go dress dad" I said as I left the room .

When I got to the visitors room, dad was dressed already, how he managed to dress up, I don't know, but the clothe was not settled so I helped him with the adjustment needed .

"Every body done !?" .. I heard dad's voice .

I pushed my dads wheel chair to the sitting room, after I had helped him pack his bag.

"We are done sire" ...

"Where is little madam "

"Am here Mr senator " .. She said as she walked down the staircase .

Mom wasn't coming so she bid us good bye, and then she wished my dad good luck 

We got out and we used the luxurious bus instead of the small cars because of my dads legs .

Inside the car looks like a house , Lina acted so cool like it was normal to be in such car, I acted so much not to show the timidity in me but hell no!!, my eyes wouldn't rest, my dad didn't say a thing, maybe maturity was involved .

The driver drove us .

"From here to the airport is how long" .. Dad asked Lina's dad.

"its one hour drive sir " ... He replied .

"What is your take on the new president " .. Dad brought up the always boring political discussion .

"my dear, we don't want him on that sit, many of us will loose assets if he gets in the sit with this strictness and agendas " .. Lina's dad complained .

I took my ear off the topic with a very big sigh .

"I thought am the only one that hates this topic " .. Lina said

"It's a very boring and annoying topic , ugh!!" .. I replied .

"Let's play word games then "

"you know I will sure beat you " ... I boasted when I was shut up by a gun shot .

"What's happening !!!!"... Lina shouted

I looked form the windscreen and then saw two black jeeps racing after us and our driver had increased speed .

" you all should bend down " ..Lina's dad instructed ..

He was on the ground already, I rushed and helped to get my dad laid on the ground then, Lina was on the ground too using her hands to cover her ears as the gun shots increased .

"Driver please fast!!!, let me call the police " .. Lina's dad shouted .

I laid on the ground, Lina crawled into my hands, I held her tight .

The gunshots wouldn't stop, I don't really know why they were following us, but they persisted, they kept on shooting till they shot the car tires and then the car lost balance and then started to  Summersault.

When I regained consciousness , I saw the car on the other side of the road , police men taking records , I didn't see the black jeeps again , I saw Lina still unconscious but being attended by some nurses  , I saw my dad looking so confused like me , I went to help him up and got him on his well chair.

"Are you okay dad ?" .. I asked

"I am fine just scratchs"... He managed to say

"where is Lina's dad ? " ... I asked

"when the car was done with the Summersaults , the jeeps that were shooting stopped and two huge men led by a woman came and took him " ... He replied with head bent.

When Lina woke , I rushed to where she was .

"Are you okay? Lina ?" ...

" what happened Riel " ...

" they shot the car tires and the Summersaulted , and we passed out " .. I said .

She looked around the road , still sitting on the floor .

"Where is my dad!!!!"

"He was kidnapped " ... A voice came from behind.

"He was what!!?" .. Lina asked as I tried to hold her together.

"We will try our best to find him , I am mr dele , the DPO of zone 6 police station "... He said .
