DAMIAN'S POV

I could scent them close and it was the first place that came to my mind. I had spent half of the day tracking Avery when I could just contact her through the mindlink but I knew Avery too well. She would believe I was being proud and could not see her physically. The cabin was just as it was last time. Abandoned and creepy . The serene was silent but under the cover of stillness, I could see crimson red eyes peering at me the an opening in the cabin. "What are you doing here?" Avery demanded, coming out of the shed. "I've come to warn you." I initially planned to apologize but her attitude was becoming much too difficult to bear. " What?! About how dumb my idea is?" She sneered and I fought the urge to blow off at her. "You need to listen Avery. Matilda told.me something bad is going to happen..." "We can handle that!" She spat back. The echo of those e words resounded in my eardrums and it was almost like the girl I was knew had disappeared. Henry got out of the cabin to see what was going on. He rested heavily at the side of the door and watched not making an attempt to separate two clashing Vampires. I lost it! "You think just because you get some abilities and have a league of vampires at your call that you're special! No! You're not! Under that Cover of tough, you're afraid and that why you're doing this. You're afraid." Tears were pouring freely from her eyes and her mind was in shambles but then it all went static

. "Do you feel that Damian?" Avery quizzed, seeming to notice what just happened. "Our link, its gone. You no longer have to act like you care. There's nothing that binds us anymore. The only thing I know of you is you are my father's last sire." My mouth dropped. Our connection was gone. The mindlink was lost. "Now leave Damian!" Without waiting for an answer, Avery walked out on me. I couldn't read her anymore but I could still feel the despair she felt. It was all me. I was the monster! Of I walked back just then, maybe something would have changed but no! I turned away and left. The sinking feeling I felt could not be described, it was like a never-ending pit that had been opened up in my soul and I was falling nonstop. There was no pain, neither relief. It was only emptiness. What have I done?

KALIM'S POV

Damian's fight had nothing concerning my goals. My goals were to take Legolas down, A promise I made to myself when her took the family I did not know and the one I knew and to decipher my family's "book". The second I was doing. It would have been a hassle but surprising I could read the text. The ancient language had not changed one bit but I understood it. "It had to be the skull." Somehow it had empowered me to so things I couldn't think of doing before. The strange text I could read was very understandable. The only thing I could make out before was the sketches of the skull and dancing faeries. The text was clear and i read aloud " The lock of the dragon shall be freed by a descendant of the Ravaii, a king." I stopped right there, Fear gripping me almost immediately. I didn't know what line Legolas was from and the thought of him with the power that now resided with me terrified me. "Hey!" A farmiliar voice said from behind me and I froze in place. I was smart to close the book I was reading and put another book over you. The individual walked forward and sat on the opposite chair and facing me. It was Meshach. The old man had grown quite fond of me and it made me wonder why. He had only met two and both times, I made a hurried escape. He took put the book I had hidden and smiled. "Thought it was porn." I grinned timidly as he examined the book, scrolling through page by page. "I never knew you could read ancient language." Meshach noted, glancing through a page intently and I wondered what caught his attention. My former fears returning. "Read this part." My gaze followed where he pointed to. A small inscription on the drawing almost like a signature although I the saw strange language. "Once and fated." Finished, I met the man's gaze. The look of bewilderment written all over them. "What?" The old man's expression relaxed and he let out a weak smile. "I was just surprised you can read trekili. It's a language as old as time. Who taught you?" I had to lie. His expression earlier, that of bewilderment told me something bigger was at play. "My father taught me." The man suddenly stood up and began to walk away like he had heard enough. I didn't stop him. I was just there watching each step he took and until he disappeared into the darkness. Immediately he was out of sight, I took the book. I had to leave. I had done something and I didn't know what to make of it. A voice in my head told me what i feared anyway, "It all Orvinus." And deep inside, i knew the voice might be right.

AVERY'S POV

Henry was disturbed with the fight i had with Damian and sis much to express his distaste. "It not cool Avery." "What?" I feigned naivety. He didn't seem pleased so I talked. "Henry. He's made his choice and I've made mine. What not cool about that?" Henry paused, thinking of tye right words to use on me that wouldn't make me lash out. I will like that. "We need him and you never even listened to what he had to say." Henry was only talking like this because he didn't know Damain. I don't know why I've never questioned him of it before but my eyes were opened. "He only wants be in his protection. Like it some kind of pride and I feel he doesn't want me to grow, you know." Henry's expression told me he didn't know. " I just want you to make peace with him. He's been your guardian for as long as you remember. You can't just let him go." That made me go bonkers. "Henry! Our mind link is gone. There is no connection whatsoever anymore! Now I'm going to ask you what side you are on. His or mine?! "Is that an ultimatum?" Henry queried. I folded my arms and gave him the 'yes it is' look. Henry said nothing but walked up to me. "It's you Avery. I'll always choose you." That warmed my heart like butter in a hot pan. I hugged him and he whispered to my ear. "But I want you to make up with him." I was not doing that, at least for now. Damian had really hurt me in places I could not disclose so I preoccupied my mind with the mission. Legolas' stakeout.

LEGOLAS' POV

The day was highly Ted as i receive gift from far and wide and other faeblood provinces. The notable one from the Plymouth section. They knew my mission and joined me to prove that faebloods were supreme over other specie.

Read " Demigods(book one) " by the same author ( samuelade. )

. Their gift was a small serum that had been created to burn Vampires inside out. Almost like the sun in their system. It was a glass like bullet and i knew it would shatter on impact will it's target successfully flooding their bloodstream with vervian and soon death would occur, specially made for Avery. The door opened and I hid the bullet from sight. It was Meshach. This man brought bad vibes everywhere he went and i wondered what he could possibly want now. "Do you know who Kalim's mother is by chance." No! What could have made him think about anything regarding Kalim. Could it at least be tomorrow? Tye old man looked very determined to know so tye best i could do was stall him. "No!" He nodded to my response and immediately left. My sour mood was back but I was more than reassured that all would be gone tomorrow. It was my wedding after all.
