THE SAME DAY(MONDAY)

RENA’S POV;
I can’t believe what I am hearing right now. These three guys in front of me are so stupid. I mean how could a human being see a crime scene and just because they weren’t armed, they drove to the nearest police station, placed a report and happily drove to me with such news as if they’ve won a lottery.
“ Will the three of you shut the hell up before I strip you off your positions!” I shout at them stamping my hand on the table in a fist manner.
“How stupid can three of you prove to be? You are soldiers for crying out loud! Did you even undergo any training at all?”
“Ma’am we did of cour…….”
“Oh shut that hole you call a mouth, now give me one better reason a soldier would stoop so low to report a crime scene to a police station and then leave without even following the police men to the crime scene?” I ask looking at the idiot who will answer my question.
“Because the police is our friend I guess.” Alfred foolishly answers.
“Nice, I see maybe a week in the guard room will make you retain your military sense. Right?” I smile mischievously knowing fully well they now know I mean nothing but business.
“We are sorry Ma’am.” They chorus.
“Look Alfred, Mason and Ezekiel, do not bring your Nigerian senses in solving issues here in Detroit

. We came here for business and if not that I trust the three of you I wouldn’t have brought you all here cos I know y’all have just the Nigerian sense of adjusting to criminal effects. Do not bring such useless news to me next time cos I won’t tolerate it. I won’t have you making jest of the kindness in me. You get?”
“Yes Ma’am.” Good they now realize their mistake..
“I will be leaving tomorrow to the prison yard. My work here is done. I have caught the criminals who stole the documents from Mr Lawson, unfortunately his best friend, Mr Armstrong sent the criminals but Mr Lawson trusted his friend too much and suspected his rival Mr Thorney who had long moved on from his beef towards Mr Lawson. So the confession has been made by the criminals. I just want to sign some papers and then do the needful before leaving tomorrow. Plus the General wants to see us” I explain to them. Ha! These guys are drama itself. I mean look at their faces..  they seem all serious when I know deep down they are uninterested as hell.
“Are we coming with you?” Ezekiel the most sensible fool of them asks.
“It’s your choice. The bird will be ready after the visitation so no need coming back to my house. So it’s either you come with me or book your flight.” I tell them stressing the tone of each word.
“We’ll come with you.” Three of them chorus. More likely of them. I knew they won’t be that stupid. I watch as three of them stood up and head to the door.
“Ally, Sun and Kill?” I call their military names and they turn to me.
“Who asked you to leave? Have I permitted you to leave? I can see three of you want to see the ruthless side of me. You wanna know why I am called Rain, right? Now sit your buts down before you go out and do something useless.” Three of them hurried back to their seats.
“We’re sorry Ma’am.” They chorus again. Only God knows how tired I am with these guys.
“Do you in any way know Wright's Incorporated Limited in Nigeria?” I ask as they look at me with surprise.
“Wow! Do you have a criminal investigation in that company?” Mason asks.
“It’s a big company and they will pay quite well.” Alfred adds.
“Have you accepted the offer?” Ezekiel tops.
“I asked a question. Do you know the damn company?” I hit my fist on the table and they flinch.
“Yes, we know the company, the jnr CEO is our friend since childhood. He is the one we’ve always told you about spending most of our time with.” Ezekiel says. He knew better than to anger me.
“While three of you were out, I got a call from the company and they will need my assistance with something but not in the military field. It’s about my personal job, what I do for fun. I have been assured by other persons and for the three of you to top it all, I know I didn’t make any mistake accepting the offer. After landing In Nigeria, I will be going to the company for a meeting I have with them. It will take a long time to meet with you guys again. Hope you know that?” I finish explaining to them.
“How I wish we could be of help. We will miss you so much.” Mason said avoiding my gaze.
“Indeed. I bet I know you too well to believe that silly confession. You’ve been brutally and physically molested by me. I’ve branded three of you scars which you won’t forget in a hurry so missing me would be the last thing in your mind cos your faces are screaming Freedom At Last!” I say to them.
“Is it that obvious?” Alfred asks touching his face as he turned both left and right expecting an answer from the other fools.
“Oh shut up! It isn’t obvious.” Mason answers grinning at me while I shake my head in disbelief. Suddenly I feel their bodies on me. They are hugging me feigning tears.
“We’ll miss you.” They chorus as they hug me like children whose mother is about to travel for a long time.
“I know I know I know. Now go home and prepare something before I come back as my farewell treat. I will miss you guys too.” They ran towards the door more like as if they escaped. These guys! I knew they were tired and needed just the permission of them going home. Power indeed controls everything. Look at them older than me but my position and strength keeps them intact. God knows I hate prison can’t wait to get out of here. There’s indeed no place like home.
