Forever, Mitchell - Episode 8

 

What you get isn't always what you want.. We never bargained for this, you have to believe us.

"Just once uh? Play with me once and you are out of coming to my game this weekend"

"Bryant, I have to work, move"

"I can tell Madam K to leave you out of the chores, you don't have to do them, you will be with me"

"You think that will go over well with the others?"

"Who cares what they think?"

"I for one"

"Grammmmmmmmeeeeeeee"

"I just can't spend all my days playing with you, we gamed yesterday on my time off and I couldn't get any extra sleep."

"Mitchell? Just once?" He asks with the puppy dog face and I almost wince, these boys should never be allowed to walk around freely, their smiles are too lethal.

I shake my head and I go back to peeling garlics, I can feel the eyes of the others on me, it's been that way for some time now.

They look at me like I'm some foreign specie, they look at me with betrayal, I no longer get help from them because they feel like the Knox's have claimed me.

And I can't deny, I've been claimed by them, by Bryant, Villa and most of all Tyler.

I've gone to 3 of Bryant's games, done an emergency manicure trip for Villa, trash talked her ex and sneaked some wine into her room. 

Tyler is still going all out to convince me of his sincerity 

I've been working here for a month now and in those times while I work I get serenaded by the siblings.

Madam K isn't saying anything but I know she's thinking alot, the only people remotely on my side are Katie and Pearl, surprisingly.

"You have to get out of the kitchen now Bryant, you are making my work hard for me." 

He rolls his eyes but stands up from the counter, ruffling my hair as he exits, grabbing an apple. 

"See you later grams" He exits and I'm left with 5 set of eyes that  feel like they are looking into my soul. 

I quietly go back to peeling the garlic whilst wishing I was anywhere but there. 

Madam K enters coming straight to me. 

"You are on duty tonight, Tyler's having some friends over and he wants you to serve them" 

What? 

"Yes madam K" 

She nods, inspects what we are doing before exiting. 

I turn around to grab a filter when someone bumps into me, hard. 

"Ohhh, sorry my bad" She says but I know that wasn't a mistake, I'm beginning to pay for gaining favor from the Knox's. 

What is Tyler thinking? Does he think I will be extra grateful for the overtime? 

Or is he just doing this to put me in my place? To make me aware of the fact that I'm nothing but a paid help in his house? 

I feel the burn of tears as the pain from my chest where I was bumped into couples with the pain from my heart, but nothing comes out, not even a single tears. 

I haven't been able to cry since my father left, I didn't even cry when my mother died. 

I'm not going to start now.

I serve another round of shots to Tyler's rowdy friends as I try to ignore his eyes on me. 

My feet is killing me, it's past 3 in the morning and the party is showing no signs of ending. 

I've had to fend off two passes at me and one guy trying to grab my ass. 

Through all this Tyler did not budge, just drinks his beer and broods. 

What does he want me to do? Believe him when he says he likes me? Trust me I want to believe him, I really want to but I can't. 

I was rich once upon a time so I know how the minds of rich people work. 

"Hey you!" A voice shouts in my ear and I turn to see Mr. Ass grabber staggering before me. 

"Yes sir?" 

"How much for a lap dance?" He asks and the others hoot, my eyes go to Tyler to see him looking bored and aloof, he's making no plans of helping me. 

"I'm sorry sir, I don't give lap dances" 

"Why? You.

He says drunkenly and anger runs through me. 

What did I do to deserve this really? I should be at home right about now sleeping, instead of getting hit on  by a drunk bozo. 

"Why don't you go to a club sir? You might find what you are looking for there" 

"I don't want no club girls, I only want you" He says, his hands grabbing me to pull me closer. 

His hand go to my ass, and the other goes to my dress, trying to unzip it. 

I try to push him off but he doesn't budge. I bite his hand in desperation and he let's go. 

My head immediately starts ringing from the slap that follows, I freeze on the floor and I don't know how I got there. 

His friends laugh at me and he kicks me while I'm still on the ground, I whimper. 

My stomach, I curl in a ball. 

"You b*tch! You bit me!? Where do you get off doing that?" 

I bite my lip when he takes off his belt. 

The first strike lands on my hip, I expect the next but nothing happens. 

I open my eyes, I didn't know I closed them, to see Bryant standing there holding back the drunk fool. 

" What are you doing right now?" He's asking the drunk idiot but his eyes are on Tyler. 

Tyler doesn't say a word. 

"Let go of me Bryant, I have to teach this b*tch a lesson" 

"Point of correction Kennedy, that person you just hit is not a b*tch but my grandma, her name is Mitchell" 

Bryant says and I can hear the rage in his voice. 

"I don't care, move, I'm not done with her yet" Kennedy the drunk scum says. 

"What are you doing in Xavier Knox's house and to his staff?" Bryant asks in a cool voice, the threat seems to get through to the fool because he quietens. 

The others do too. 

"That's what I thought" Bryant says before turning to lift me off the ground, helping me to my feet. 

"Come on grams" He says helping me out, I limp as I walk and when I lift my head madam K is standing there a look on her face that seems to say that's what befalls any person that tangles with the great Knox's. 

Shame swamps my heart and I bite my lip, not once through this exchange did Tyler make a sound.
