Chidinma has never thought of the day she would leave her husband; it was definitely not an option she was considering. What would she ever do without him? Apart from the child issue, he completed her in a way she doubted any other man can. So what was she looking for going around in search of another man to complete her in the way he does? If Dr. Famuyiwa does not have a positive reply from the last sperm he took from Debo, she had decided they would adopt until God is ready to answer there prayers and give them a child of their own.
They were now at the hospital’s reception area waiting for the nurse to call them in that the Doctor is now ready to see them . She knew he was scared if how tight he was holding onto her hands is anything to go by. “Debo” she whispered but he didn’t even hear her. She called him three more times without a reply from him so she decided to leave him alone; his mind was already far away from here.
Chidinma didn’t know whether to jerk him out of his thought or she should leave him to receive solitude in his thoughts for the main time but she needed him to release his hold on her hand; it hurts really badly. Apart from that it won’t do them a world of good if he became hypertensive. She could just imagine what his mother will say

. She doesn’t even want to think about what her fate would be if anything happened to Debo.
She shrugged off the thought and used her shoulder to nudge him awake to the world around him. He was startled. “You need to release your hold on my hand, you are killing me.” He stared at the hand as if just realizing that he was even holding me at all. “Oh, I am sorry.”
He released the hand and started massaging it softly taking away the pain he had inflicted and causing her blood to flow to the hand again. “It’s okay to be scared but it is going to be fine. Whatever he is going to say in there, we will take it and work through it together as we always do.”
Debo stared at her face; Chidinma was expecting a smile from him but got disappointed because his frown only deepened. “You don’t have to be strong for me.” He said; his voice so sad it tempted her to cry. “I know but one of us has to be and that just happens to be me.” She replied. He didn’t say anything; guess he didn’t need to. The best words are spoken with sealed lips.
Just then the nurse came to tell us the doctor was now ready to see us so we stood up to follow her to the room ready to face the beginning or the end of our dreams.
Debo doesn’t understand why Chidinma always tried to pretend that she was strong. Why she always pretend as if she can take anything life threw at her. He needed her to be able to open up. She needs an outlet for all the pain and anger she is feeling. She needs to scream, shout and rant because only then would he know that she is perfectly okay. She was just storing everything up and he seriously needed her to stop because he feared for her psychological well-being. Maybe she needed to start seeing a psychologist. That’s what they get paid for. To listen to the rants of their client and make them feel better. She would want to spare his feelings so she wouldn’t want to do the whole screaming thing in front of him because she might think he was already feeling guilty enough. He would suggest she started seeing one but how would he suggest to his insanely beautiful and strong wife that she needs to start seeing a psychologist without murdering him; he really had no idea.
“Are you telling us that we should have been pregnant by now? That his sperm count has increased considerably to what it is supposed to be?” Chidinma exclaimed. The doctor had just informed them that Debo’s sperm count has increased. For the past two months he had been collecting his sperm for continuous tests without telling them the result. He said he wanted to be sure before telling them because he didn’t want to get our hopes up. Now he is sure and if what he is saying is correct Debo’s sperm count has increased since two months ago or maybe even more so they should have been pregnant by now since they have been having sex constantly; well they both can’t seem to keep their hands off each other.
“Yes. The sperm count has increased and I guess the reason you are yet to conceive is because the sperm is on its way to full recovery and he is still on drugs. So I will suggest he stops using the drugs from now on and I am sure you will conceive soon since there is nothing medically hindering you from getting pregnant. All you need from now on is patience. Be calm and exercise the patience you have been exercising all this while and before you know it, you are pregnant.”
At those words, a huge smile appeared on Chidinma face immediately. Finally, after slowly losing hope and faith, she could finally see a bright light in the not so far away distance. She would be able to get pregnant and soon. She felt Debo relaxing by her side. She looked sideways at him and saw a huge grin on his face that she has not seen in a long time. It was a happy grin that tells you all is well with the world and it was actually true; all was truly well in the world. “We are going to be pregnant.” She screamed loudly for the whole world to hear not caring they were in the hospital; guess she has the right to be selfish sometimes. She laughed happily which made her darling husband and the doctor laugh too.
“Let’s go party.” Debo said as he stood up and pulled her up with him. Yes he is right; this truly called for a celebration.

It really did call for celebration. They were so happy they had partied and hosted friends for that day and Debo and Chidinma  sort of had a second honeymoon but that has been four months, a week and four days now; not that they were counting but it is actually difficult not to; they still were not pregnant. The doctor keeps telling them to be patient that he couldn’t see anything wrong with them but Debo knew there is sure as hell something wrong somewhere with them and if he wanted the bright light that was in Chidinma’s eyes four months ago to be back there, he must find out what is wrong with them and fast.
