Broken - Episode 4
I felt relieved. "Has mummy finally seen dad's true nature. Has she finally discovered what he has been doing to me?" All these and many more were the thoughts running through my head. God has finally opened her eyes to see my pains.
That was what I thought until mummy brought out something from her pocket.
"What are you doing with this?" she asked stretching a small paper pack towards daddy. "What is it doing in your wardrobe? She asked again shouting angrily.
Daddy stood up and went towards her.
"Am not doing anything with it." he replied calmly
. "This condom is distributed monthly to all worker in the restaurant including me by the health workers in the hospital next to the restaurant. They say it is part of their fight against HIV/AIDS project. Actually I didn't want to collect it at first but because it was given to everyone I couldn't refuse it." Daddy said, this time holding mummy by the shoulder.
"How come there is only two left in the pack, what happened to the remaining two?" Mum asked, this time with a calm voice.
"Well on my way back, Tayo took two from the pack. I told him to take the whole pack but he refused saying I should keep it or give it to the gateman

Mummy smiled, walked up to me, kissed me and went back to her room.
Daddy quickly bathed me, dressed me in my night wear and hurried back to his room.
The looks on his face could tell he was hiding something from mummy and that everything he said was a big lie.
Am glad mummy came in on time to rescue me from him. I took Benny close to my chest and prayed to God to save mummy and I from daddy.
I woke up the next day and ran to mummy's room but she wasn't there neither was daddy. Where could they have gone. I looked at the clock on the wall. "oh no, it's 2pm already."
I went to the kitchen to check if she was there but still couldn't find her.
I heard voices coming from the sitting room and decided to check who was there. I walked into the sitting room and saw daddy drinking with his friends. I noticed one of his friends pointing at me. I didn't hear what he was saying to the next person but something in me told me to run back to my room. I took Benny and turned for the stairs, he ordered me to stop but I didn't obey. They stood up and started running after me. I got to my room and tried to shut the door but they were just too fast. One of them threw me on my bed and they started laughing. Just as they were about coming close to me, someone knocked on the sitting room door.
