Broken pieces - Episode 6

 

JORDAN'S HOUSE
Kaima with Johnpaul were making dinner.  She was overjoyed that her lover was helping her with the cook. She stood by a corner, watching JP as she swamped him with vegetables to cut. One obvious fact that dawn to Kaima as she wandered in Oblivion is that she will never have Johnpaul always in the kitchen. It is a place men always feels it is strictly for women, but she'd wish Johnpaul will fall in love with cooking as it seems he was that evening . 'If he knows what is good for him, she said to her self, ' he would learn to start cooking. A working lady need a husband that is homily, one that won't be indolent even to warm a soup already stocked in the refrigerator. She never wanted a man like her father Mr Mbonu when it comes to matters of kitchen. She'd thought long on these before she remembered that there's remaining an onions to cut. She came close to him with onions and dropped them near the trail. She compliments JP on how he has been using the knife effortlessly and mastery. 
'I should cut the onions too?' He asked bluffly.
'Yes dear, slice it in bit 'n pieces.' she replied and went for the pot on cooker.
'Any other things to cut? Like pepper?' 
'Nope, I will have it blend, together wit....' Kaima was interrupted by Johnpaul's scream.
'...what is that baby?'
'Oh my God, I've cut my finger, Argh!' Johnpaul said as he began to suck his thumb.
'Why do you cut your finger, oh my goodness! Let me see.' 

John pretended to have cutted himself, but he did not, he just can't continue with the vegetables, he had thought of an excuse to leave the kitchen. He couldn't hide further when Kaima was desiring to see the injured finger

. He claimed he's still sucking the blood, hence he won't bring out the thumb from his mouth.
'Just let me see the bruise baby.' Kaima insisted holding his hand.
'Are you saying that there is no cuts?' askedJohnpaul as he was deceitfully leaving the kitchen.
'When did I made mention of such, look JP you will have to come and finish these vegetables.' She resentfully commanded.

' Baby, I am tired, seriously.' Johnpaul confessed.
'You should have said so, and not using such terrific trick of cutting your finger. You have to sit here with me,  lazy bones.' 
'Haven't I tried?' 
'You had dear, thanks allot.' she picked the knife and begins to cut.
'I think my parent accepts you' she continued.
'You think? 
'Yes, especially my mother, she kept saying that you look cute and nice.
'Before nko, who would not accept a nice and handsome dude like  me for a son in law, she knows what's up' Johnpaul puffed up.
'Let me hear word, Mr handsome' Kaima smiled.
Mike walked in with a hunger beaten look. He ignored them  and straight to the refrigerator. 
'Mike, you look hungry' Kaima observed
'I don,t look hungry, rather am hungry.' 
'Chai, don,t worry, the meal will be done in an hour.' she responded positively.'
'By the way, who is this your boss that could'nt excuse you of such a day like yesterday. Mike asked.
Kaima turned to Johnpaul, 'You told him?'
'Of course I did, you think it's funny' Johnpaul made a face.
'Don't mind Dr Pat, he's just becoming too  hard these days.
'He should'nt be oo, Mike advised, 'else he will need to find a replacement. Imagine that kind of boss'
Kaima would not want her Boss to be the topic of discussion, so she changed the topic immediately by asking Mike when he will be seeing Yvonne's parent.
'We had a hitted arguement the other day, she's insisting we will go for court marriage before church wedding.' Mike compained.
'Why? what must havemade her say such?' Johnpaul wondered.
'She's damn serious with this, I dont just know' Mike worried.

Johnpaul turned to Kaima and asked if Yvonne have ever discussed such with her.
' She did, about twice, is anything wrong with that?' Kaima asked.
It's never a problem for me, but why will she be given such condition' Mike wonder as he moves to the water dispenser.
"It looks everybody is placing a condition here, this is interesting" Kaima frowns as she went out of the kitchen.
Mike moves closer to Johnpaul, looking at him with surprise. "So my guy, what's up, what's your own condition".

"Fine, I told her that I will need to see a positive test of pregnancy."
"Dude! Serious?" Mike was shocked.
"but I did'nt mean it" Johnpaul confessed.
" Bad guy, So what stops you from shotting in the net?
"Guy I've never entered this girl oo" he whispered to Mike ear.
"This is getting more interesting" Mike stood stunned.
"She's becoming too religious, and I don't like it" Johnpaul alarmed.
"Mehn! This is wife material, extra-extra Large" Mike mocked.
"Who cares about all those ones, I just love her, simple"
"So this is the reason why you are still going out with  that your side chick?"
"Shhhhhh! Mike what's your problem ?" Johnpaul alarmed.

MRS ADELABU CLASS.

"What is these look on your faces? It is obvious, and it is normal for couples-to-be at this moment to experience their first shocker of disagreement. Yes, some couple even while kissing at the altar of God still have some serious disagreement within themselves. The funny thing about these likely disagreement is that atimes it shouldn't have been a problem. Mind you that the way such disagreement is being handled can make or mar the proposed wedding, even when the invitation card have been dispersed. I have seen a wedding that was cancelled at it eve just because the couples-to-be couldn't agree on a wedding gown style, or number of the girls on Aseobi. The most common disagreement has always been from both families. I  have also witnessed a wedding that was  cancelled right inside the church. I understand, this time is one of
the crucial time. Most time like this, it look as if you've made the wrong choice. This time is tthe first time each of the couple is recieving the first shock in their marriage. It always bring them to loggerhead and argument. But at the end, you will understand  it is disagreeing to agree. I'm not expecting you to tell me what the problem is but it is obvious. Be careful what you desire to have on your wedding, or before your wedding. There have never been a perfect wedding. That one you wish yours to be like was edited. The bad side of it have been cut off. Don't lavish all your life savings on wedding. Now that you guys are preparing for wedding, cultivate tolerance. Shift ground where necessary. Wedding is but for few hours, but marriage is lifetime."

Only Mrs Adelabu noticed tears running down Kaima's cheeks. She paused and watched her closes then call her, but she was lost in her Oblivion. 
"Kaima what is it?" Johnpaul asked as he robbed the hot tear off her cheek.
Mrs Adelabu looked at Yvonne and Mike, none looks happy.

 JORDANS HOUSE
Later that evening, Mrs Adelabu lesson kept ringing in Kaima's memory. Every of her words made sense to Kaima, but what she could not comprehend is wether Johnpaul condition be considered. She's not becoming too religious as Johnpaul thinks, but this has been her desire, an integrity she need to preserve. But will  she be able to keep this to the end, even when their wedding is in three week.

Yvonne was raised by her single mother who lost everything she toiled with his father before they divorced. Infact, she doesn't even want to have anything to do with her father or her step mother, hence she made up her mind to have a court wedding. Her mother's ugly experience have made her to make this strong decision, and she not going back.

When Kaima told Johnpaul that she's spending the night at Jordan's house, there was this happiness that he struggled not to show. He was the first to use the bathroom, then he wore his pyjamas as he pretended to be sleeping.
Kaima came out from the bathroom, after she had dabbed her body puts on her night gown. She intentionally left it unbuttoned, so her nipples was protruding as the ungaurded br*ast dangles. Kaima moved to the other side of the bed and mounted. She wasn't looking happy trying to please Johnpaul and displeased herself. She'd looked at Johnpaul who pretends to be sleeping and tears dropped. "I can't afford to loose him" she said to herself before she reluctantly taped him to wake him up. John in his pretense released this obnoxious snore that made Kaima gave him a deserved slap.
"What!" He said jerking up.
As he looked at Kaima, her body was appealing but her contenance wasn't. He know all is not going well with her, so he sat up and ask her to button up and sleep.
"I spent the night here so you can make love to me" she said with yet unpleasant look.
Johnpaul objected and tried buttoning up her night gown, then she grabbed him and pulled him on top her.

Stunned at the strength with which she drew him, he look at her eye balls and insisted that he's not making any love to her.
"The only way I will have to show you how unserious I was when I told you that I needed a positive pregnant result is to wait till after our wedding" Johnpaul said as he dropped Down from her.
"Make Love to me," she said as she grab him so tight again "Make Love to me."
"I have told you that I will be standing by your decision, believe me, I'm not in a rush to do this."
"So why all these sudden changes that I'm seeing in you lately?" Kaima asked.
"What, what sort of change? Look I have joined in this decision, if I can't feel any arousal after seeing your naked body, then something tells me I can do this. Moreover we've come a long way."
"Do you think It's normal, please make me feel like a woman I am, I can't keep this anymore" she pleaded.
"Those tears I see, it touched my soul and have melted the urge. Stop pretending to be ok, you're broken within. I will stand by you Kaima" Johnpaul promised before reaching the switch on the wall and the light went off.
