Anjola - Episode 23

 

Cameras rolled and clicked in the conference Cameras clicked and rolled in the conference room of Aanu holdings headquarters,murmurs could be heard underground as people anticipated what could have made Wole Olaotan Ceo Aanu holdings call for a public announcement.

It was a major news that the supposed merger with Mr Daniel was a flop due to the abrupt halt in the wedding plans of his son to Mr Daniel's daughter Adesua, everyone wondered what the announcement was all about.. There was a sudden hum as Wole made his appearance, followed by two hefty looking body guards, he sat down and folded his hands on the table . He cleared his throat and began, 

"Sitting before you this afternoon is a thief and a covetous man,i stole from my friend Ojumola Cole, his company, his money, name it, i was so jealous of what he had that when the opportunity came i grabbed it and didn't think twice, i took his money and ran, and after which i overtook his company. I am ashamed standing before you all...

The whole gathering gasped in shock

"...i know i do not deserve mercy, but i am here because i have realized my mistakes, I'm sorry to everyone I've hurt one way or the other,i am a proud man and never thought the day would come when I'd admit to my wrong doings..but that day is here, i want to start over with my family and live peacefully, but i can't except I've been absolved." Wole paused, looking back into the camera he continued "To Wonuola Cole,i am saying sorry, you've been so good to me, you treated me like a brother even with the fact that I was just a friend to your husband, i should have been more considerate.... To Anjola, I am sorry truly sorry, i should never have said the things i said to you,Oju loved you as his own, i want you to know that.

. To my family  Aanu and Demilade..please forgive me... " Wole broke down and couldn't go on,he stood up abruptly dabbing at his face, his body guards cleared the path letting him through,

"You should step down, you stole from your friend!!!" said a reporter 

"The company is not yours, you should personally ask for forgiveness from Mrs Wonuola Cole." fired another.

Wole was guided back into his office, he couldn't forget the hateful remarks and incessant flashes from the cameras...he knew it wouldn't be long before everything got awry..

His phone rang, Aanu.

. He let it keep ringing and muted the sound.

He had done it, he had over come his fears.

But to what end, and what happens to Aanu Holdings? Wole thought.

Later that day, 5.30pm precisely.

Anjola told everything to Busola as soon as she came in, crying and sniffing over all the place, Busola held her till the crying subsided. 

"Babe i understand your pain,but you over reacted o, you shouldn't have rushed out like that. Even if he forgets who you are i'm sure it's not permanent and it doesn't change the fact that you still love the guy na, see as you just spoil everything with your yeye grand exit, i am sure he is already thinking you're a drama queen."

Anjola sniffed,not liking what Busola was saying but knowing she was speaking the truth, "I was confused Busola, the way he looked at me made me hyperventilate, i already thought the worst. Besides he's someone else's husband now... 

"Then you haven't been following the news,he never got married,i heard on my way here how he collapsed during the wedding, i think before they said their vows." Busola confided "So you see? You were worried for nothing."

Anjola was dumbfounded, "Oh i see, poor baby, how he must have suffered. What do we do now?" Anjola asked. 

"what do We do?as in "We" ?" Busola asked

Anjola nodded 

"Ahh babe sorry o, i forgot to tell you,you're on your own."

"Hian Busola naa...

Doorbell rings

"...thats our bell o, where's  mom sef?" Anjola  asked going to the front door,Busola follows closely behind. She opened the door and what she saw shocked her,written in bold letters were  the words:WILL YOU MARRY ME?? the juice of it all was Demilade kneeling on one knee looking like her favorite chocolate, Lord but she could gobble down the man... He brought out the ring she had thrown back at him the other day,and opened it. 

"Will you marry me Anjola Cole, be the mother of my unborn children and make me the happiest man on planet earth?"

Anjola stood still looking at him with tears in her eyes,she wondered how on earth she deserved this man...everything felt like a movie.. 

Busola snapped her fingers," This is not telemundo o madam, this one you're prolonging your reply, say yes jere let me collect the MacBook Pro Demilade promised me." Busola scolded jokingly 

"You both set me Up!" Anjola yelled at Demi and Busola 

Demi scratched his head while Busola tongued out. 

Demi drew a breath, "Marry me Anjy...

Anjola stretched her left hand, "Yes Demilade,oh God, yes i'll marry you!!" 

Demi slid in the ring and scooped her up, diving in for a kiss in between giggles from Anjy, his kisses sure made her see stars... 

A throat cleared behind her, "About time... 

"Mom!!" Anjola said, staring at a laughing Bimpe,Bimpe came over to hug them both, showering them with blessings.

"Let's all go in." Bimpe invited, leading the way indoors, Anjola and Demi walked hand in hand, following suit. Busola cleared her throat from behind,tapping Demi she stretched forth her hand, "Oga where is my MacBook Pro. "

"Ei Busola, relax na, shebi i already promised, i will give you joo." Demi said

"Are you guys for real?" Anjola asked mouth agape 

Demi and Busola burst out laughing, it suddenly felt good to join them in laughing. Anjola thought.

Watch out for the final episode guys, it's going to be a mixture of both happy and sad one moments...
