My Adventure - Episode 2
On getting to the motor park, it was the only passenger they were awaiting, I boarded the bus and the journey began fully. An old man who sat beside the driver prayed for journey mercy as we proceeded. It was my first day as an undergraduate. I was busy day-dreaming in the bus, the horrible statement made by the driver correcting the other driver interrupted my reverie.
The journey lasted for about four hours, after which the dreamt-gates of the institution appeared ahead of me, I couldn’t seat back anymore, I stood up looking at the exalted gates of the institution right away from the bus which took some minutes to reach. On reaching the gates, I alighted from the bus and I bade the co-passengers safe journey to their various destinations.
I couldn’t believe my sight, when I saw multitude of students at the school gate, rushing to enter an upcoming campus shuttle, “is this how a university looks like?, I puzzled
. Being a village boy, I also joined the other students in the struggle, but as I was struggling to enter the bus, some of my food stuff was snatched away by the students. I felt so sad.
We enter the main campus, after which we all alighted at the school motor park. I saw so many gigantic buildings, several beautiful flowers and enormous cars; I couldn’t help my mouth from beingajar

I sat down on the floor when I couldn’t withstand the stands of torture any longer, some students gazed at me as they passed, but I didn’t bother at all, I was too busy wondering how the existence of those mysterious architectural configurations of buildings and human creatures of different weight, height and posture, my eyes almost went blind when I saw different kinds and sizes of inert structures in open contest and several half naked attires.
As at this period, I was intent on changing the course of my life, I was tired of a fun less and unadventurous life of village, I was ready to explode! I had made up my mind. I was going to take a little more interest in life, as I was thinking about this, I remembered the words of my parents and I dashed the thought off my mind.
As I continue in my sighting excursion, a guy came to me, he greeted me and I replied him.” You a fresher right?” he asked. I answered him yes. After some perambulating responses of conversations, he led me to my hostel and I gave him a tuber of yam which he reluctantly collected, he promised always to check on me after which we exchanged phone numbers. You wonder how I got a phone, my uncle, a cocoa dealer, gave me the last time he came for Christmas.
I dashed into my room finally and met a young looking guy. “of the same age”, I thought. Although taller than I am, we exchanged greetings and we became friend instantly, he told me he is from kwara state and I from Oyo. After several conversations, I denoted he just finished his pre-degree programme and now we are both fresher, he already knew many things about the school in which he told me about. We cooked that night and we slept off after a brief gist.
I slept as if the day wouldn’t break, my friend was the one that woke me up and we went to the registrations centre for our various registrations the next day.
The whole week was very stressful, but I enjoyed the adventure. A week passed and we started our orientation programme in which several dos and don’ts of the institution were made known to us. The grading system of the institution was explained to us, we were told how to calculate our CGPA and several awards like first class, second class and the likes were explained. My first and second week in the University was very interesting to me in a nut shell.
