The unstoppable Achiever - Episode 13

 

The following day, both of them met. 

The Boss told her that he discovered that he needed additional  N200m to do the necessary things to become the governor and that he needs the money the following day, otherwise , he will miss the opportunity and that will cost more to correct.

  " Where do I get such money?  

Ok, I'm backing out. Just terminate my own side of the contract , forget everything . Let's close it." Sandra said

  "Madam Sandra, the Boss doesn't do business halfway. The money or more surprises for your husband.

 " I give you 2 days"

She knew the Boss is not a man of many words. 

There was no more money for her to give him. Where will she source that sort of money? She called her lawyer in the US and asked him to sell the family hospital  and send the money immediately.

  "Hello madam ,is everything alright"?

  "Just do what I'm telling you. Everything is alright. Sandra said.

After selling the hospital, the money gotten wasn't still enough because they removed the mortgage fee and other expenses.

She placed a call to the Boss begging him. She explained everything

. The Boss didn't say a word. 

That evening, the governor received a blurry video with no clarity of sound or pictures. He was confused. He told his wife what happened.

  "Was the picture clear?'' she asked panicking.

  "I told you everything was blurred. I think the person is trying to tell me something," he concluded.

Sandra called for a meeting with the Boss at the usual place. She told the Boss that the factory was already sold by the father before he died. After selling the hospital, the money hasn't been enough. That he should take what she has so she can save her marriage. She said that she doesn't have anywhere to go as her father is no more and the available sources of sustenance were off.

  "So how do you want me to do with my political career? Listen I need that money tomorrow or the worst will happened - meanwhile let me have what you have. Moreover,as you could not have any more money to give me, I've decided on an option to close the deal."

  'What is that option ,the Boss"?

  "Ok, you  will play along and sleep with me for two weeks. One week in my house and one week in a country of my choice"

  "What?

  " You want to save your marriage, then do it"

  " No please, I can't cheat on him"

  "Sandra, when did you start having feelings for your one arm man" he chuckled.

  " I didn't before, but with all I am going through, I love him now. I want to stay...if not for him, for my children. I'm going nowhere again."

   " So I should clap for you?... I give you 2 days to bring the money and also be on my bed. We won't have this meeting again and your husband will have the full dose of the packages...even the one I intercepted from Gully. "

  "You did what"

  "Yes you heard me. Have a nice day"

Sandra was in real trouble. She wanted to save her marriage. She was no more going to kill her husband and run away and more over , she has lost everything . She can't sleep with the Boss either and probably get infected. If she tries that,  the Boss will turn her to a s*x toy any time he wants her. The thought of being exposed as an evil governor's wife engulfed her. What can she do? She thought of committing suicide, but that wasn't a good option. She entered her room and wept sore !!!

(Hmmm, don't dig a pit too deep for your perceived enemy so you can come out of it if you slide inside)

Sandra POV...

One day,  I was lucky to listen to the conversion of my husband telling someone on the phone about packages with disturbing content that someone has sent to him.

"Do you know that my wife was about to kill me? She wanted to use Dave as an executioner but he refused. I suspect she has a hand in Dave's being shot. We are investigating everything. Please come to my office tomorrow." He hung up.

  "I tiptoed back from where I was listening"

"Game is over Sandra,game is over. The Boss has sent everything to him" ...I told myself….

   "My plan was not only discovered but it collapsed like a pack of cards right before me."

Through one of my close confidants, I heard my husband was having a close door meeting with his very close aides concerning what was sent to him, every day.

" You've all seen what the content is, what do you think I should do" the governor asked them

"Sir, I think we should further investigate this silently before accosting madam," one of the aides said.

  "Acousting me? Never" I screamed !

That suggestion was applauded by all, although that seems not to be the best as it gave me time to hatch another plan. Trust me on that

The governor wanted me to go to Abuja with him. I told him I was very ill so he left me alone and ordered the medics to take care of me. I told the doctor to go back home that I will be fine. I gave instructions that no one should disturb me and that I want to sleep. I called for an UBER service to wait for me at the usual spot in town. When everywhere was quiet I called a driver to take me shopping  without carrying any luggage. I showed him where to park and walked down and entered the shopping mall. From the mall , I used the side door and walked to the adjourning street to where my UBER driver was waiting , entered the car and off. From there I travelled , leaving my children and everything behind...at least I was safe from shame."

No one actually knew Sandra was not at home . She  feigned illness and that she will be in her room resting and gave express instruction to her aides not to disrupt her sleep.

"Where is your madam",  the governor asked the aides after coming back from his trip a day after.

"Sir she is in her room asleep and doesn't want to be disturb." she replied.

"Has she come out since I left". He queried

"No sir" was the chorus

"Break that goddamn door now ,I mean now " the governor yelled

When the door to his wife's room was taken down , he rushed in...but it was an empty room. 

On the bed , he saw a note and a pack addressed to  him

"Darling, I'm sorry , I have to do this. Inside this pack, you will see your best friends résumé too. I mean that of Dave. Please take time to read it.

 Don't bother looking for me .
