Ruth’s silence attributed to the date she had with Dolapo the other day. The answers she received to the questions she asked him about the why and wherefore he was still living with his parents, when he could afford a mini estate without blinking an eye. It bothered Ruth so much up until her sitting down. Genuine reasons or not, she didn’t like the idea of him still living with his parents
. When Maureen asked Ruth again what was bothering her, she opened up and let the whole thing off her chest.
“What? What did he say his reasons were?” Tonkey asked bemused.
“He said his parents insisted he remained till he gets married”, Ruth replied.
“Oh no, that isn’t okay. He won’t have any privacy to himself. That means he is still treated as some sort of a puppy to be taken care of and not as a man that he is” Maureen added.
“Well, he has said his reasons. He will move to his own house when he gets married. That’s okay if you ask me”
“Do you even hear what you are saying to yourself at all Tonkey”
“Okay, go and drag the guy out of his father’s mansion if you are vexed. Aha, some parents are overprotective of their child especially if he or she is the only child, son or daughter”

With that, Ruth let it go and focused on what to wear for the party. It was almost six in the evening.
The party was fun filled. Ruth danced about thirty minutes before deciding to take her seat quietly. Her stomach ached and it seemed she was still hungry and wasn’t satisfied with the food she ate before coming. Her order was served and she began munching and sipping her drink. Ericks noticed after about half an hour later that she wasn’t dancing and decided to ask after her before she saw her sitting.
“What’s wrong? Tired already?”
“Kind of. I don’t have the kind of energy you all put into dancing”
“It’s consistency. Hope you enjoyed it?”
“Yea, I did. Thanks”
“Nice to hear that”
“Yes”
“You remind me of someone I used to know”
“Really, who then if I may ask?”
“I can’t really figure that out. You are beautiful. I know you have heard that a million times”
“I have but thanks for the compliment anyways”
“So tell me, do you have plans for tomorrow?”
“Ehmmm, let me see, am going to buy some foodstuffs, then I go see my parents”
“Okay. Cool. Then, we may have dinner tomorrow right?”
“Ohh, I just remembered am going out with someone tomorrow in the evening”
“Hmmm, your boyfriend I suppose?”
“Yes. Surprised?”
“No, am cool. He must really be lucky to have you as his”
“Why do you say so?”
“Ruth, I think you are very special, a rare gem I must say”
“You barely know me and you are already saying these”
“I don’t need to know you to know that you are a special woman. I saw it immediately I set my eyes on you”
“You guys have a way flattering women with your tongues but break our hearts along the way”
“No right thinking person will ever think of breaking your hearts”
“Hmmmm”, she sighed about the whole conversation. Not quite long, Tonkey and Maureen arrived at the table, looking all exhausted and sweaty.
“You guys are having a great conversation. When did you both leave the dance floor?” Maureen asked as she sat close to Ericks.
“Not too long. We are just trying to be acquainted with each other, that’s all”
“Wow, my order is not served yet? I’m damn hungry o.”
“Who do you want to serve you food? You better go and get your order by yourself Mrs. food”
“Abeg. Spare me the talk”
