Onome didn't wait for any explanation when instantly her palm connected to Ufuoma's cheek. Ufuoma's faced tilted to the left and her glasses fell off her face. Ever since Ufuoma was born Onome had never raised a finger on her because she had been and exemplary child. Thompson quickly restrained Onome from hitting Ufuoma again. "Sweetheart, why did you do that?" Thompson demanded
. "Did you just ask me why I did that? I almost died of an heart attack here" Onome fumed. Ejiroghene and Oghenefejiro watched in awe, they had never seen their mother so mad, their father signalled for them to leave the room which they reluctantly did. "Honey calm down" Thompson urged his wife. By this time Ufuoma's face was streaming with tears. Thompson lead Onome to the couch where she sat. "What were you doing at a police station" Onome demanded. "I...I...just saw myself on the street and...then I went to a police station" Ufuoma sobbed.
