A black Jeep drove into the Reed's house.Looking at the car, Pearl knew her father is back. He is always home, once a month. Her father despise her a lot, sometimes she even wonders if he is her real father.
"I think father is back, my brother Micheal said looking at me with pity.
"Sadly yes, and stop looking at me, with those eyes.
"What are you waiting for? You need to leave before he gets here.
"Where?,I ask raising my voice.
"To Maya's house, Maya is my childhood friend.
"She travelled, I replied.
Just then John Reed their father came in.He is staggering and holding a bottle of beer.
"How does he even drive been drunk,I thought.
"You unlucky b*tch!! What are you doing here?,I have told you several times that I don't like seeing those disgusting face,he yells.
"Don't worry, and just leave, and I will come and get you Micheal whisper.
I nodded my head, but before I could leave my father charge toward me with a broken bottle.I quickly close my eyes awaiting the pain, but I didn't feel any.Opening my eyes, Micheal was clutching his stomach in pain.
"Leave, he whisper in pain.
I began to run,I felt bad for leaving him alone, this isn't the first time, Micheal got hurt in my place, he is always there for me, even if will quarrel a lot.l didn't even know where I was heading to, but I kept running.
I came to a sudden halt, when I saw a car heading my way,I tried to divert from the road, but it was too late.

Opening my eyes, my mother is holding my hands,a man dressed in suit is talking to a man on white, which I recognize as a doctor,I think I am in an hospital, with those smell arrgh!!!.
"Where is Michael,my throat felt dry.
"Oh my god!!, she is awake my mother scream happily hugging me,I couldn't breathe.
"Mom,you are choking me,I groan.
"You scared me Pearl, I thought you wouldn't wake up,my mom said as tears of joy rush down fully from her eyes.
"How many hours has it been?
"Hours!! you have been here for almost a week.
"Wow!! Where is making I repeated looking at the room.
"He is at home, I told him to take his bath, and if you are worried about the injury, he is already fine, my mom said signing sadly.
"Thank God,I mutter.
"I need to examine her, the doctor said to my mom."she is okay now, the doctor said after examining me for some minutes.
"Thanks doctor, my mother says.
"Can you please leave us alone, the man dress in suit ask looking at my mom.I totally forgot him.
"Sure.
"I'm really sorry for what happened,if I didn't get drunk that day, this wouldn't have happened.
"It okay sir,it was also my fault,I said.
"I told my investigator to investigate you'you are a drop out right?
Why did he investigate me.
"Yes.
"Would you like to continue schooling?, he ask looking at me waiting for a reply.
