Myopic - Episode 1

 

"Am done playing the fool" Remilekun said in a very loud tone screaming at the top of her voice as she ran out of the bedroom making  her way to the lavishly furnished living room panting as tears flows from her eyes uncontrollably. She just heard  her husband professing love to another woman over the phone telling her she means the world to him while anticipating on the time they intend spending together "so disgusting" she had badged into the room without knocking taking  him off guard he wasn't expecting her to be home so soon from visiting her parents and the television volume been so loud did justice to her quiet entry into the living room. Though he tried cooking up an excuse but she just wasn't in the mood for that she had had enough . She can't believe her husband of three years has started having an extramarital affair "its just too soon" she thought to her self wondering where she must have gone wrong. She had tried feigning ignorance for too long but finally her greatest fear is coming to pass Debo is cheating on her, the thought of it brought fresh tears to her eyes "mama" their two years old daughter called out stretching her arms to get attention, her voice  brought remi  back to the reality of how she must thread carefully over the matter.The man in question is the father of her child "oh God" she screamed amidst tears as she cling to her baby like her life depended on it. "Remi you better don't create unnecessary drama" said  Debo who is now fully dressed and had made his way into the living room, pointing  his finger directly at her face he continued "next time you will learn how not to jump into conclusions" he moved past her to grab his car key on the centre table "debo i know what i heard am not stupid "you are going to her right?" she grabbed his hand in an attempt to stop him but he pushed her away making her fall back on the chair."you can imagine whatever you like am out of here" were debo's last words before storming out of the house

. Confused as to what to do she picked up her phone to call her mom it was about connecting when she disconnected the call. "what am i doing?" she thought to herself calling her mother would only make matters worse being the only child of her parents her mother won't hesitate in dealing with Debo. Her mother is very influential and won't hesistate to deal with anyone who tries to hurt her only child remi had watched her do it to her exes in the past putting them in police detention for days over a crime they never comitted,so long she paid the right people they can be framed for anything but the situation now is different this is about her husvand not just a random boyfriend should anything happen she will have inlaws to deal with and also her marriage will be on the line which doesn't seem like the right thing she needed at the moment. A solution is what she needs before things gets out of hand and the best person to give her that answer is no other person than her mentor Dr.Lara yes that's exactly who she need at this cross road she is their counsellor a God fearing woman and mother of three happily married to a man who supports her in all that she does of cos' thats her best option she thought as she picks up her phone to call lara. 

The drive to the counsillors office seems like the longest drive remi had ever had in her life she kept on wiping off tears off her face as they keep rolling down her cheeks. It had been a joint idea of the both of them(herself and debo) to get a counsellor. After reading several books before marriage she had seen the importance of having a marriage counsellor so as to help spice things up when marriage start going sour of which she shared the idea with debo after they got married to which he didn't object infact he hurriedly approved of it saying he wants to spend the rest of his life with her and anything that would help to achieve that was a welcomed idea. But how can someone who claim to love her suddenly become so non challant
